If you are looking for a nice condo in north Phoenix, this is the place. Really large units with washers and dryers all upgraded. The manager Kay is great to work with. She is helpful in each step of the move in process, hard working, honest and a super kind manager. I really enjoy working with Kay. She is top notch. read more

I would never nevvveerrr recommend moving in here. Whether you rent from Phoenician pines or go through a realtor and have to deal with the HOA in one of the privately owned units. The management here changes every other day because it's just THAT bad. I feel like they keep selling it off because of the amount of issues there is. No one answers their phones ever it's rare and front office is usually closed during business hours not sure what the staff is getting paid to do. Already existing tenants key fobs stopped working for months with no resolution as new people are being moved in here given new fobs with access to things like the gym. The gym has become a jungle gym for people not using it for its actual purpose. There is no care for the appearance of this place anymore, people air drying all their clothes on the balcony rails/clothing lines.... Looks like a dump in here. Such a shame for the people who actually own their unit. MOVERS BEWARE! Oh and no matter where you park you will get sprinkler water all over your car just ruining your paint. Landscapers are also a joke here get ready to do your own landscaping on your patio after the mess they leave every week. read more

I suggest never moving in this place I have lived here 2 years. It was bought by new management earlier this year. I have gone 5 days in a hotel. The management states that my bathroom is fully functional. I have mold and mildew growing as well as a huge chunk of my ceiling missing. This was supposed to be fixed the first day it happened but I keep getting zero response from the office. They refuse to call me back, and refuse to send maintenance to repair ad they currently don't have a maintenance person. I would not recommend. read more

So, my boyfriend and I have been at the Phoenician Pines a little over a year now. For the price and location, it's good. Not blow your hair back great, but good. We have a two bedroom two bath we're getting for under $800 a month. We're right by the loop 101 and I-17. It's a very average phoenix neighborhood--not the most upscale, but not the slums, older homes with families. I would say this is a great transition apartment if you can afford it. If you're probably in your mid-twenties to mid-thirties and need a "grown up" living space but aren't quite ready for a house, this is a good location. Lately a lot of younger kids (late teens and twenty somethings) have been moving in, but it's not enough of an issue at this point to drive me away. HOWEVER--please be warned. I keep seeing reviews about the staff and I'm surprised any of the renters have even been able to see the staff. I've tried at all hours of the day, every day of the week and no one is ever in the HOA office. If they are, they apparently refuse to answer the door. They take ridiculously long breaks (they are now closed for a week off for 4th of July...seriously, a whole week) and are regularly closed for "training" days. The posted ours are Monday-Friday 9-4. They are never available and do not respond to calls or emails. That being said, it's nice that they leave you alone. They aren't always hounding you about things or nit picking your living. On the flip side, they don't enforce rules. A lot of neighbors don't pick up after their pets in the community areas, which isn't punished. A lot of neighbors have patios riddled with weeds or cigarette butts. There is often scattered trash in the parking lot. Again, these things don't affect me enough to leave, if you're living in an apartment you have to realize you're living around others who don't live as you do, so no matter how respectable and clean you might be, others won't be the same. Some of this the apartment can't really enforce unless they kick people out. The apartment itself is great. Good size, good price. Out unit is perfect space for two. Laundry in unit.The building is older so we've had some garbage disposal and air conditioning issues, but thankfully I'm handy enough to fix them myself. Again, not needing the office staff, which is good because I know I wouldn't get any help. From what I hear from my neighbors, even if you contact the staff for repairs it can take them weeks to get to you. Haven't had any issues with break-ins or theft. Each apartment has an alarm but we've never bothered using ours. We keep to ourselves but we made a point to meet our neighbors. We're always friendly to those in the community--its always a good idea to build that support, it makes it so we look out for one another. That being said, it feels like a pretty safe area. Sort of going off of general lists: the noise is average for an apartment. You're by a busy street so you'll hear traffic and an occasional loud vehicle. Most neighbors are quite, at least around us they are. The grounds are kept pretty well, aside from trash every now and then that flies out of the trash on pick up days. People tend to not pick up after pets, but that's not the apartments' fault, per say. Safety is good, the gate breaks on occasion (usually because idiots drive into it) but they get it fixed relatively quickly. All of the apartments to my knowledge have alarms so that's a plus. Maintenance is below average. Don't expect speedy service. Can't comment on the staff as I have never actually met them. So, out of 10 I would give this place a 6.5, maybe a 7. If you can handle apartment living, this is the same as most places. You'll fight for open parking and deal with idiots, but that's any apartment. Just be prepared to do repairs yourself and not rely on the staff. Honestly though, I would recommend this place to friends that aren't needy renters. read more

I lived here for almost 6 months in the year 2010 in a 1 Bed apartment. The apartment was clean and well maintained with good people around. But the management and the receptionist who worked here sucked big time. Both the ladies were very rude and had too much of unnecessary attitude. read more

This is the worst place to live...save yourself the time and don't even swing by the office for consideration. The land-lord is the craziest lady I have EVER encountered(telling me that she looks INSIDE of my apartment). Everything around my apartment is broken all the time and it takes up to 5 weeks to get someone to come by and fix it. All I can say is I can not wait until my lease is up. read more

Front gate is constantly broken along with dog poop everywhere. I have lived here since 2012 and have noticed the place has only been worse as time goes on. If you have multiple vehicles good luck with trying to find parking, you are most likely going to be out of luck. My place was broken into one time and they stole both of my TVs and even took my cousins underwear (most likely tweakers, this place has a lot). I would recommend on really weighing your options before moving into this place and if you do decide to move in make sure to really keep track of your valuable stuff. The trashcans are almost always overflowing and people here like to make the narrow roads into one ways by always parking on one side when they are not able to find parking spots. read more

I live here at the Phoenician Pines and have had a completely different experience. I enjoy my apartment and most of the people here. But then again, any where I have lived there have been a few people that seem be unhappy in life and feel the need to make others unhappy too. My apartment is beautiful! I workout every morning and the gym is very clean. My boy friend and I use the pools on the weekends and they can get busy but very refreshing. I have not needed many things done but they always are willing to help me and repairs are done promptly. I would recommend anyone to come here. read more

I moved in about 2 months ago. There is a mix of retired and younger folks that live in the complex. I came to look at the property 3-4 times, before deciding if this is a place that I would like to live. The complex for the most part is quiet. I do have some young ladies that live near me, who played their music loudly at all hours of the day. Apparently, there must have been complaints, because they have toned it down ALOT. Can't tell they live there any more. Depending on the area of where you live, the grounds look questionable. My area is fine, and the landscapers are here every Friday. It seems that things are getting better. All in all, it's not too bad of a place to live. read more

I love to give honest feedback both good and bad about places. This place unfortunately falls under the bad feedback area. For starters when I first moved in There I had the neighbors right across from us consistently having parties to what seemed like every night. Again I was young once.. So I tried to leave it be until it got too be too much. Thankfully they ended up moving out a few months in. Next I had about 600$ worth of electronics in my car stolen right in front of my place. I had seen throughout my time there at least 3-4 cars that had been broken into because when I would wake up and go to work I would see the broken glass all on the floor next to the vehicles. Next I see a lot of people with junk on there porches which is boarderline HOARDERS straight from the TV show, yet I bring a small weight bench to be healthy and all he'll breaks loose saying that I will be evicted if it's not removed by such and such date.. Ok.. I get rid of it. Next as far as repairs are concerned. Getting the maintenance people to do a job is like pulling teeth. I had to call at least 3-5 times every single time because it was never getting done. Which is another huge pain.. There is constant dog poop all over the grounds where people have no regards to picking it up. The front office seems to be ok, until you let them know your not going to renew the lease for a higher price then they turn ugly and don't care for you anymore as a tenant. They did not allow us to schedule a final inspection and we thoroughly made the apt spotless!! They charged us a large amount to replace the carpet when it's clearly on our initial inspection that the carpet was damaged and dirty and needed removal. We were shorted on the deposit.. And on top of that we had to wait almost a month to receive it for there own error! If at all possible avoid this place. Its ghetto, and you will be unhappy if you choose to make this your home. The absolute most unprofessional management team I have ever dealt with. Do not move in here, I will be putting a review on every review site out there including rent.com which is where I found this place. I have lived here for two years and can not wait to move this month. My cloths have been burned by the dryer since we moved in and they would not replace the dryer. I called to have the maintenance guy Jason look at my AC as it gets really warm in the condo when my thermostat is set for 69, he came up put his hand in front of the vent and said its working fine. They failed to have a professional come look at the AC and never followed up. I would not recommend moving in here if it was the last place on earth to move in to. Lupe, the manager and the terrible maintenance guy Jason are extremely unprofessional. Don't do it, I can tell you myself along with many other residents are in the same boat. The condo was privately owned when I moved in, but as soon as it was sold to the condominium we started having issues with them. First of all, they raised the rent to $200 more a month, which wasn't enough, water and tax were NOT included on that amount....Second, there were things in the apartment that had not been fixed...the carpet hadn't even been cleaned when we moved in, but the new owners couldn't even offer to do that since they were raising the rent so much? Ok well that's not a big deal...what about the tiles in the bathtub that were moldy and falling off the walls? Bathtub paint pealing off as we take a shower. Power outlets that didn't work among other problems. To pay almost $900 a month on a 1bedroom that has issues like these that haven't been attended is NOT worth it! It's not like it's in the biltmore for crying out loud! read more

Been here 3 years and very happy with the apartment and the people that work here. The girls in the office are always laughing and welcoming. Sometimes, I just come by to chat and they are always there to listen. They make living here more like family and not standoffish like I have seen before in other apartment areas. The new maintenance guy is very nice and clean. He is polite and takes care of what I have needed to be done. They never say no, it is more like, how can we help. They get you money wise for everything. My pool key got stuck in the gate on a Sunday, office not open until Tuesday. By then someone got it out of the lock and didn't turn it in. I call on Tuesday and manager tells me $100 to replace it. WHAT?! I read through my lease agreement and no where does it state that I must pay $100 for a pool key. It's 110+ degrees and I cant use the pool? MY rent is $989.00 for a two bedroom unit and I cant use the pool? It's also not very clean around here. The office is supposed to be open until y6pm, but I called at 4:54pm and they were closed. Garbage from neighbors upstairs is all over in front of my door, big party and fight one night, right outside my bedroom, security guard is non existant and manager says since units involved are owned by private owners that they cant do anything about it. Screen doors don't fit so they wont open and close. There's lumps under the carpet. You really dont have any options here. I cant put anything on my patio, and I have two, so they are useless. I was so excited when I first moved in, but I havent been here 3 months and I'm not happy anymore. read more

Lets try an honest review. You always see the ones that are not being so truthful. The truth is in the middle. I have lived here now for 2 years. The grounds took a turn a year ago but today they look great. It seems the owners made a change in landscapers. They have 2 guys that do maintenance. The one guy you see all the time picking up trash and cleaning. The other one has been in my apartment to do a light bulb change. Have not had any other problems with my unit. The girls in the office are nice. Have not had an issue with them. Parking at night sucks. I have one space and if I have a friend over, they scramble around for another one. I think that is my only problem here. I do like that the gates are closed all the time. I do not like that there is not a wall that encloses all sides. We are next to another apartments that are not so nice. I have called security a few times for partying and it seems to work. I like my neighbors. Pools are clean. Everything seems to be well maintained. Its not a 4 star hotel but I call it home. I do recommend this place. It is clean place in a not so clean location of Phoenix. read more
