First and last visit there. I will not be returning due to owner cursing during my whole visit there. She made it clear to everyone that purchased that she was the owner and how much she donates to causes. While I was being rung up (by a wonderful staff member) and other patron was donating art and filling out paperwork. One of the employees assisted and because the paperwork was messed up the owner said loudly and with a tone "there are too many hands in the pot". The employee and artist looked flabbergasted and I was shocked at the way the owner handles herself. Although the store has alot of supplies not found in craft stores, what I went for the employee stated they were out of stock of 5 items for watercolor. I was happy to have found Phoenix Art Supplies & Framing online because I probably would have missed it driving by so quickly on 611. About a year ago, I went to another local framing place for a custom frame. They did a beautiful job, but it was very expensive. I found Phoenix Art Supplies online and we took an identical item here to be framed. The price was much better and the quality was identical. The store associate was also able to assist us with paint supplies. I recently returned to Phoenix for a custom mat, and I was in and out in about 10 minutes. This was a drastic change from my recent experience trying to get a custom photo mat from Michaels. The owner and employees appear to take great pride in the work they are doing. I've had a wonderful experience with custom framing at Phoenix Art Supplies. I was looking to get a few lacrosse jersey's framed for my son's college senior night gifts. I reached out to Phoenix Art Supply on short notice - I could not get the jerseys framed until the season was over. The staff was extremely accommodating to my schedule, and worked overtime to get these done in time for the team banquet. They were able to pull together 8 framed jerseys within a week! The staff was also extremely knowledgeable and helpful when it came to the design and created an extremely high quality product. The very first piece I brought her was an odd piece that had been turned down by other framers as "impossible," and she figured out a way to do it beautifully. She gives excellent advice and every single piece I pick up is an absolute "Wow!" type of job--better than I can imagine. In addition she fixed up and framed a decades old, poorly stored oil painting of mine and it's gorgeous now. What a great job! I am a Military Officer, who needed a shadowbox my my retirement ceremony. I called Jenny and she knocked it out of the park. It was done ahead of time and looked far better than my anticipated layout. Shadowboxes are not easy projects and this one had 30 years of memorabilia to mount. This is an excellent place to go for nearly one-stop shopping when it comes to your art supply needs! I walked in with a pretty extensive list of required supplies for a B&W Design class at Drexel University and Phoenix carried nearly everything I needed, right down to the preferred brand name! Jenny was an amazing help and was my very own "personal shopper". Her guidance and recommendations got me in and out within about 30 minutes, much shorter than the amount of time I was expecting to spend. Yes, you may spend just a bit more than the average A.C. Moore or Michael's Arts & Crafts, but what you are getting in return is a personalized shopping experience and high quality products and customer service! I didn't mind the 30-40 minute drive from my home, given the great results. I will definitely be returning in the near and far future for all of my crafting needs.
