When I vacated the house 2 years later I paid for a professional move out clean ($400) and then waited 30 days to hear about my security deposit. After 32 days I emailed, requesting a full refund per NC law. They informed me they did not intend to refund any part of the deposit amount. I requested an itemized record of what the money was spent to repair, as required by law, and was sent instead screenshots of a blurry video claiming there were stains on the outside concrete we were responsible for. I paid on time or early every single month, $2800, dealt with the yearly $100 rent raise even though it was unwarranted for the property. And left in the most classy upstanding way I could, paying for a professional cleaning and giving 60 days written notice. Paradise Realty is crooked, unfair, dishonest, and uneducated on the law. After finding a lawyer, filing a lawsuit, and writing many demand emails I was returned the money that was rightfully mine. This entire process was absurd and I would strongly recommend other tenants SUE! And anyone who isn't yet mixed in with this crooked company, avoid at all costs. As a side note we literally had rodents in the walls from the time we moved in, also ants living in power outlets so that we couldn't use about half the electrical sockets in the home. We sent pictures and requested help. We were promised pest control services would be deducted from our rent if we found a local company - after I paid the 1 year contract amount to a pest control company, paradise realty then claimed it was my responsibility and laughed about having promised me help. The AC and refrigerator did not work for the first two weeks that I lived there, and nobody would respond to calls, emails or texts. As soon as I paid them my deposit and rent money, they went radio silent and did not communicate at all. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!
