We attended a wedding at The Standard. It was a very nice facility. I found it a little strange…read morethat the entrance was on the side of the building, but no matter - it's all good. We gathered on the first floor and went up to the rooftop for a cocktail party and Hors d'oeuvres before the wedding. They had a variety of delicious items. The bar was great and the drinks generous. The wedding was on the rooftop -- a beautiful setting for a marriage. I'm guessing there was room for about 100 people. After the wedding, we went down to the 2nd floor where they had tables set up for dinner. It's a lovely venue. The food and service were great. After the meal, the rooftop was opened again for dancing. Desert was available indoors on the 3rd floor, coming in from the rooftop. All in all, this is a great location for a large party or gathering. They did a great job, in a nice venue, of showing everyone a great time.

When it finally did come it was mostly cold food, pasta sauce was too spicy to eat, 2 out of 4 jumbo shrimp were burned, so bad they said we could have it for free so we took it. At a certain point they opened all the windows and doors because of the smoke from the kitchen. My eyes were pricking from the smoke. I hope they improve but I won't be going again soon. They had breakfast this morning at the Verdi which we usually go to but not this time. Too bad.

Dirt on doors and light switches are a turnoff. Half motel closed for remodeling - a least it's shuttered up...... I expected a queen bed but only full (double) size so tight for two. Bathroom is shower only, nothing to step over to enter. No hair dryer. Light on motel sign halfway burned out. Room is stuffy on entry, possible smoker in last few weeks. TV remote given on check-in. Manager behind glass in office seemed very nice. No AAA but $66 total so some savings if you can put up with all of the above.
