This little joint is hands down the coolest bar I have ever been to. It is unassuming on the outside, but you step in and it is a technicolor wonderland of nostalgic pieces and new art. There is an extensive craft drink list, and the two I had were expertly made. Even better...both were sub $10!! It is super clean, and you can tell that they take pride in their blue heaven. Walk past the genderless bathrooms and there is a separate room (with its own music) where karaoke is held on Saturday nights. Mine smelled and tasted like bandaids... idk why i knew what those taste like or maybe my imagination led me to that. My wife got the margarita flight ($20) for 3 tiny pre mixed margaritas. Both of us did not like our drinks. The food was fine, the nachos lacked depth but were edible. The tacos were not good at all, hers (fish) had very little fish and the taco was very small and didn't taste like much. My Brussel sprout taco was also very small and VERY salty. Neither of us finished our tacos. The one thing i did really enjoy was their salsa that I had to ask for with the nachos, that I was also charged for. Even though my father is african American and my mother is Hispanic, I'm not welcome. Having a private conversation with my best friend had the bartender questioning my ability to conduct myself. I know my limit in drinking and I would never disrespect anyone's establishment. I was told I could not order another drink because the bartender was listening to my conversation. Now, I am a black woman but looking at me u may think I'm Caucasian. That was there may concern. I can't help but ask myself if I would have been treated the same way if I had dark skin and was clearly identified as an African american woman. Take me back to the old clancys where my conversation with my party has no effect on who I am as a grown woman. Never ever ever has Clancy himself or his staff made me feel this uncomfortable. Leave it to new owners to drag this business through the mud. I will not be back nor will I refer anyone to this establishment. Clancy.... buy it back!
