What a terrific winery! This is definitely on the finer scale. I would not recommend for small children. It is not as family friendly as Timber Hill. But this has an overall sense of elegance. There is a place to sit outside by the creek, there is outdoor and indoor seating. The grounds are meticulously maintained. You can get a three flight wine experience and you get to keep the glass! The server we had was super friendly and informative. Very affordable at only $15, and the bathrooms were were pretty nice. Plentiful parking. Overall a great place! read more

I visited this winery for a casual afternoon outing, and while the scenery is really pretty, the overall experience was just okay. The space itself is relaxing and would be a great spot to hang out, but the wine didn't quite match the atmosphere. The options I tried were fine, just not memorable for the price point. The food choices were also pretty limited, and since you can't bring your own snacks, it felt a little restricting. Nothing was terrible, but nothing really stood out either. It's a nice place to sit and enjoy the view for a bit, though I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to come back. read more

The ambience is the only nice thing I can say about this place. Over priced juice that is only made with a fraction of the grapes they grow, if any at all. And the wine slushy is 95%frozen juice and they push them because it's where they make all of their money with only using a fraction of wine. Not impressed at all!!! Went here on our girls day winery tours. The property is gorgeous. If it was closer to me I would def have to plan a birthday or shower or some type of event here. The service was also very nice. The 2 ladies that were working were very welcoming and informative. We started with flights and then moved onto slushies. The food was also ok. I was visiting Illinois in April coming from the Seattle, Wa. area. My friend was excited to take me to a local winery so I chuckled and off we went. Now, I love Wa. wines. Besides their top ratings they are classy and sophisticated. But when we got to DC Estate I was delighted. When asked why I honestly said that the wine was fun to drink right now. They didn't sell it to store away for 3-10 years which is recommended for most Wa. wines. I went online and ordered 11 bottles of 5 different wines. I had only drank. one type while there but decided to chance the other four. I will say one of them didn't make my repeat list but have had fun sharing the others. I will also say that DC Estate Winery needs to work out a shipping arrangement with one of the companies because both the cost and length of time from shipping to arrival was much more than expected. But... that being said, you will enjoy most of their wines and the people are extremely nice to deal with. Oh yeah. If you go to the tasting room, try their flatbread, it's great. read more

How DC Estate has anything less than 5 stars is absolutely mind boggling to me. My husband and I got married here July 6th, 2019 and have visited countless times. Every time has been absolutely incredible! FOR WEDDINGS Wedding Planner: Tia Lasswell is an angel on Earth. She is the most incredible wedding planner, which is probably why she won the award Rockford's #1 Planner! She is on top of everything and goes above and beyond for her couples. She's changed my shoes (pictured), fixed my dress mishaps, reminded me of my mom's favorite bottle of wine so I could purchase it for her for Christmas, and so much more. She made sure are day was absolutely perfect and completely painless. Plus, we asked her what companies she recommends we work with and she was spot on with all her recommendations. We couldn't have had the perfect wedding without Tia! She feels like family now and we love going back to visit her. I cannot say enough good things about her! The venue itself: Absolutely gorgeous! The outdoor ceremony space has a beautiful water fixture and stone arch to get married in front of. It was so beautiful in our pictures too! The indoor reception space is also gorgeous! Plus, they can easily arrange it for getting married indoors if weather doesn't cooperate. It has AC inside and huge windows to give a beautiful view of the ceremony space and the vineyards. Parking: There is a huge lot for parking and they let you leave your car overnight if you've had too much to drink. Wine: 10/10! They have options for everyone. They have sweet wines, crisp and refreshing white wines, mulled wines in the fall, wine slushees, dry reds (very impressive and bold for Wisconsin), and more! Definitely our favorite wine made in WI/IL. FOR A VISIT Tasting room: A beautiful space indoor that has a gorgeous fireplace and bar. They have a gift shop inside and some snacks for purchase. You can do wine by the glass or bottle, a tasting, or a flight as I mentioned before, the wine is exceptional. Food- they have snacks you can purchase from the fridge. Cheese boxes, nuts, spreads, etc. Patio: The patio is absolutely gorgeous. It's covered in string lights and has a gorgeous view of the vines and ceremony space. There are plenty of tables with umbrella which add to the vibe. This area is great for cocktail hour if you get married there. I could go on forever about how amazing DC Estate is! If you're considering getting married here, DO IT! It's the perfect venue with the perfect planner. If you're not looking for a wedding venue, definitely make a visit! We went one afternoon during the week, we enjoyed a nice glass of wine and bought a bottle to take home and enjoy with friends. What a beautiful setting to enjoy some adult time. It was beautifully decorated for the holidays. We plan to go back and meet up with friends. They had everything from a warm cocktail to a wine slushy. Came here on Sunday for the live music and mimosa flights on the patio.. we got there and it was packed. They actually had to bring out more chairs and tables for us ! They had their full bar/ wine out in their pavilion, and also the indoor one was open, charcuterie boards available, a taco truck, and live music on a perfectly sunny Sunday afternoon. What more could you ask for? Oh, and it's FREE! We had a blast and will definitely be back. The scenery is gorgeous and makes you feel like your in a little slice of Cali. The staff is very sweet and knowledgeable about their products. Disappointed. Pulled into the parking lot around 2pm on a Friday and noticed it was set up for a wedding. Popped inside to see if we could do a tasting and Paige said of course! Also asked if there was outdoor seating since I had my pup with me and she said yes. While sitting outside enjoying the beautiful scenery another woman came over to inform me that dogs are only allowed the first Wednesday of every month. Ok, cool, didn't know and wasn't told. Kept getting dirty stares while finishing my wine flight. You also can't bring food in since they serve "snacks" which are all packaged and not much to speak of. Maybe make an area for kids separate from the adults without small kids, they are all outside running around and screaming. Not the atmosphere I'm looking for. The wines are very good. My wife and I looked at a lot of mediocre wedding venues before finding this hidden gem. Absolutely gorgeous. We got married on the grounds and had the reception immediately afterwards in the pavilion. Our guests were floored with the venue and loved every minute of it. They were not expecting to find something this incredible in an out of the way place. Tia was the venue coordinator but she might as well of been our wedding coordinator. She took care of everything. Great place for a wine tasting. Five tastings for $5, with pretty generous pours. The range of wines is great, especially for Illinois. I didn't taste anything that was offensive. The Reflection Red really stands out. And the blush. The grounds are gorgeous. I envy anyone that hosts a wedding here (except for the price tag). My husband and I enjoyed this winery so much. The grounds are gorgeous, the staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable about their wine. They explained all the wines we tried very well. My favorite was the DC Chardonnay while my husband liked the DC Sweet Riesling the best. After our tasting we ordered a glass of wine along with a cheese and fruit plate. It was such a beautiful summer day we were able to enjoy our wine out on their patio. We loved it so much we enjoyed another glass. It was a lovely afternoon and we would highly recommended visiting! Saw families with strollers, but not really geared for children unless parents bring things for them to do. The cell phone reception may be weak. Things to do: Drink wine, eat, be merry, chat, check out the vineyards (but there weren't ripe grapes in July when we went), take pictures, taste 5 wines for $5, relax. Events: Wedding reception. Came here one Saturday afternoon in July with friends since the original plan to go berry picking for my friend's birthday hang out was spoiled due to all the berries being picked during the week. Whaaat?...How disappointing :( ...BUT due to this very reason we got to experience DC Estate Winery. The vineyards weren't huge but the place was still worth checking out. For their $5 tastings I was thinking ok there must be a fine print somewhere, the wine won't be that great, or they will be giving you 1 sip worth of tasting. However, it was $5, they had pretty good selections, and they were generous in the amount they gave you. The dessert wine however was $1 more. My favorite wine was the DC Sweet Riesling since it had a clean and refreshing taste to it with slight sweetness. Their specialty wines, Cranberry and Peach Honey, were interesting. The Cranberry tasted more like juice than wine so be careful with this one. I took a sip of the Peach Honey from my friend and it literally tasted like ripe peaches drenched in honey as they stated. After the tasting we got a bottle of the Serendipity Sparkling to share among the six of us along with cheese spreads, crackers and sausages which we gave to the cashier and they brought it out on a cheeseboard. The snack complimented the wine very well. The place had great sceneries for taking pictures. There was also this decent size tree at the vineyard near the entrance that provided a good amount of shade to keep you cool from the direct heat of the sun. It was a great spot to lie down and relax, or even take a brief nap after a full tummy. The only thing I thought strange was not seeing trashcans around so you had to either leave your trash on the table, go to the restroom, or go to the room next to the women's restroom. read more

We just had a wedding held here and although the winery is beautiful the planner was a total nightmare. Instead of having a bride-zilla at the wedding we had a plan-zilla, Tia. She hates people! We had so many complaints from family members about her! She rolled her eyes, yelled, sighed, everything rude you could imagine. Everyone from immediate family members to cousins complaining about her and the staff that day. She treated everyone like an inconvenience and was by far the worst planner I could have imagined. attended a wedding and had a blast. didn't spend much time at the winery due to being in the dinning area. it was super hot and no way to cool anyone off when the sun beamed into the area. i heard after these last couple of weeks with weddings and people sweating to death they have fixed that issue. i mean come on, they had small room size fans in that space and my family room ceiling fan could have done waaaaay better. did enjoy the wine. read more

An elegant hidden gem that was a bit hard to find. I would suggest better signage however I somewhat would love to keep the secret to myself. Decided on a late Sunday afternoon to try to find the place. After a lovely drive in the country we immediately arrived. It looked like a little bit of Napa Valley hidden in southern Wisconsin northern Beloit area. Very elegant surroundings very friendly staff and some excellent wines. My favorites were the cranberry and peach. We sampled 5 wines for $5 and then decided to order the special. The special was cheesecake and ice wine for $5. Unfortunately we got there 45 minutes before they closed. Otherwise we would have ordered some cheese and sausage or other nibbles. we stayed and finished our wine for about 15 minutes after their closing time and they never said anything to try to rush us out. We will definitely be back. It is a beautiful venue for a party or a wedding. In fact there was a photographer taking someones senior pictures in front of the vineyard when we arrived. read more
