The tech in that store, Deryck Burnett, was exceptionally rude and condescending. It was made clear he did not have the part I needed, and he had no intention of ordering or installing it. I was told I overpaid for my computer- that it obviously isn't worth much. I tried to tell him it had simple duty as a basic tool for my 84 yo mother. He interrupted and said his mother is 80, "so that's not an excuse." He then found the part on Amazon and in a condescending manner, asked if I knew how to order things on my phone. I left with a piece of paper with the part I needed scribbled on it. The second tech in the store seemed to be willing to be helpful, but he wasn't encouraged to come forward. From there, I went to GoPC. I was greeted with smiles. I was informed that because they are down to one tech, Raymond, they were only accepting business accounts right now, but, "Let's see what we can do to help you." While the tech was working, I shared my experience with Megabite just minutes before. They did not seem surprised, just an exchange of glances between them. Within 15 minutes, my computer had its new Ethernet card and I was out the door. I will never forget either business. Thank you so much, GoPC, for stepping up during your lunch time in the middle of a very busy day. I really appreciate your humanity, pleasant attitudes, and help! John is a genius…read more The hard drive in my first generation MacBook Air died. I took it to the Genius Bar at the Apple Store and those "geniuses" told me there was nothing they could do. My computer was to old and they would no longer support it. If it was a newer generation they could replace the drive, for about $350. Well, John had no such problems. A few days later and for less than $200 I had my MacBook back and with a new solid state drive. I took in a Silk blouse that I wanted pressed, and a Vince Camuto duvet cover. The cover needed pressing from wrinkles out of the package. I decided to have them clean it as well since they were going to press it. Paid $48.30 for both. The duvet cover came back more wrinkled than when I took it in. It actually looked better when I took it in than after they serviced it. I complained immediately and was told that they steam it, and if I wanted it pressed, I would have to do it. I ran some errands and went back in. I was so mad. This time I was told that it is not going to look any better. I don't know how they cleaned it, but It looks like they took it out of the dryer and hung it on the hanger. At least they didn't shrink it. Earlier In the year I took in a pair of white pants to be laundered. They dry cleaned it and it came back pink. I have enclosed photos.
