Yes, people have to start somewhere. To be honest my husband and I did not know how expensive a good photographer is. You need to consider price vs. experience and do you want an inexperienced photographer using your wedding as a learning experience? What images are important to you? Granted I think this goes back to experience of the photographer. It never hurts to clarify what is important to you. My husband and I had the general idea that photography of a wedding included most of your guest, pictures of each section of your event (like ceremony, dinner and etc.), pictures of the groom and groomsmen and so on. We should have clarified to take pictures of the groom mingling, other guest mingling, and that we wanted a bit of everything that day. Image count. I feel that this is very important. What does that image count include? Do you and your photographer agree that colored version and black and white version of the same image counts as two different images? Receiving a digital copy, you have the option to change any image you want to black and white. Most physical print locations and online printing companies give you that option as well. Also concerning images, does one image zoomed in different ways and cropped differently count as a multiple image to you and your photographer? Here are personal reasons why my husband and I would not recommend Robin Rogers as a wedding photographer. All 494 images are posed there, these are all the photos given to my husband and I from our wedding and bridals. All images are set up as they were in the gallery with the exception that no duplicates are posted. These are all images from Robin and her second photographer. If we could do it all again, we would have prioritized experience over price. Due to the fact outside formals and pictures of my husband and I together, there are only 6 pictures of my husband in the entire gallery. While the bridesmaids and I were getting ready, I was informed that the groom and groomsmen pictures were done. There were a total of 7 pre ceremony pictures that included the groom and groomsmen out of 69. Out of 496 images none included my guest having dinner. This entire section was missed via photography. We did read the contract after the fact, Robin releases her self of any liability of missing complete sections of our wedding. If it weren't for the formal photos with family, nearly half of our guest would have not been photographed at all. Interesting enough, Robin was recommended as a great family photographer. I didn't get that impression reviewing our family photos. My husband and I kept asking ourselves, did she even review it after she snapped the photo? They seemed like awkward candid photos. The other half of our guest arriving from east and west coast was not photographed at all. Moving forward with personal preference and contract technicalities. Neither of us is sure of the reasoning behind the change of the sequence of colors when photographing items at our wedding. Our wedding had a sunset theme, the colors transcended from yellow, orange, pink, purple and blue. As you see in the details album some of the photos, the color order was changed with jars and bridesmaid's dresses. I realize this is totally subjective view here, there seems to be a lot of color saturation with our photos when it comes to editing them. Our pinks, blues and purple have a different hue and in some cases I look very pale. Here's where it gets a bit technical. I've included the Smith's investment portion of the contract, blacking out our credit card info. A total of 494 photos were uploaded from our custom USB. As you can see, we were promised in writing 500 to 900 images with 8 hours of coverage time. You could say we're being a bit of a snob here. So lets do some math, there are 30 bridals, 69 pre ceremony images, 57 detail images, 91 ceremony images, 73 formals and 174 reception images for the grand total of 494. Lets subtract 20 of the black and white images because you can change this option when printing. Now go back and review formal and pre ceremony shots, there are 7 photos zoomed and cropped differently to give you and additional 14 photos. So depending on your views, with out black and white images we only got 474 and deducting the zoomed cropped photos its really only 467 distinct images. Doesn't seem so snobby now.

They worked with me and my step-daughter, as I live out of state to coordinate, sign the contract, best time of day for outdoor photos etc. Mrs. Kane was great at counseling us on clothing choices and poses. We did one where we all wore our professional football teams jerseys and those turned out excellent. The gardens were very nice during the fall and we were able to get some good shots outside. They give you the option of just getting a DVD of your photos or they can print your photos as well, whatever works best for you. We got the DVD. It comes in a nice case and it has one of the photos on the face of the disc. I thought that was a nice touch. The overall experience was very positive and fun!
