The experience was lovely but the cost was something we will pay for months at a time. When i try to cancel part of my order to bring the cost down she refused my request making me spend this high cost. That was the worse part. I called literally the very next day when she opened. We were there at 7pm yet she claimed "the order was processed immediately and couldn't be cancelled. " I was sick to my stomach. After pleading stating we don't have this high cost she said it's too bad but could not refund us the money.

He arrived on location early. He already had looks/ideas printed out, and they were very easy to follow. He was knowledgeable about posing, and worked GREAT with my husband. I appreciate how he was straight-forward and honest about how certain poses/looks would translate on film. He was also open to poses we wanted to try. Katie was beyond our expectations! We were told that she is starting her photography career, so we weren't quite sure what to expect. We saw some of her work with family photography and immediately saw the potential. She arrived the day before the wedding and what a breath of fresh air. There was no pretentiousness, no "Well, I wouldn't do it that way" attitude. Instead, she listened to what we were looking for in a photographer, asked some questions to dig deeper in some areas (i.e. important family / friend photos, dancing photos, etc.), and then got a feel for the flow of the event (as it was really an all-day affair). The next day, she showed up early and was ready to rock. She did a phenomenal job of meandering throughout the crowd to get shots that we'll cherish for a lifetime. The wedding was at a lake-side resort in Northern Michigan (Chimney Corners, Frankfort) and Katie used her expertise to incorporate the lake and rustic surroundings. One minute she'd be taking a photo of our family, the next she'd be laying flat on the ground to get the perfect shot of our friends. At one point, she was laying in the middle of M-22 (a lovely road that winds through Northwest Michigan) to get a priceless shot of us walking down the road. We escaped the party and did a more private photo shoot with the bride/groom, leveraging the rustic exploits of the resort. She was never pushy. She knew where the good shots would be. She was always asking us for any feedback. It was reassuring to know we had a budding photography wizard at the helm. Wedding photography really comes down to one thing - the end product! It was delivered to us in LESS THAN THREE WEEKS! We plugged the thumb drive into our computer upon receipt and were immediately whisked back to our wedding day. The quality was immaculate. The photos looked like they were ready to be printed. She already touched them up, picked out the best photos, and provided them to us for immediate use. She even gave us good advice on what companies to use for printing photos for us and our families. If you are planning on having a wedding in Northern Michigan, or any other event where a professional photographer is needed, do yourself a favor and contact Katie Wind Photography.
