Super disappointed in our takeout adventure here the other day. Usually once a month we grab take out somewhere in Leduc to bring 96 year old Great Grams on the farm. Our usually Vietnamese Spot was closed this past Sunday for renovations so hopped on Yelp and found PhoXpress located in the Walmart shopping complex. We ordered 3 bubble teas - all were bland despite being told they would have fresh fruit in them. All tasted watered down and at $5.99 each they aren't cheap. Meh, wouldn't order these again. Next up - no kiddo meal options here so I ordered #43 for them to share because the waitress told us that it was large enough for my 9 and 6 year old to share. Beef/Pork/Springroll on rice for $12.95. (It wasn't large at all - REALLY small actually. Like as in less than 2 scoops of rice. Split between their two small dinner plates, it literally didn't even fill a 1/3rd of their plate). I ordered the Beef satay pho #22 for hubs at $11.95. Super boring, super bland. A HUGE bag of beansprouts and maybe 3 basil leafs in total. The soup had a few chunks of tomatoes! Never seen that before in Beef Satay. The amount of meat probably came to 8 super small slices. I've never seen a Pho before with so little meat - really bizarre. And lastly, I ordered #20 Beef/Springroll on vermicelli to split with Great Grams. I also requested no green onions but as you can see from the picture, they were still on there. Grams and I both agreed that the spring roll was good but that's about it. The meat was chewy and again not that much. Over all - $60 for 2 entrees, 1 soup, and 3 bubble teas. We will not be back both on account of price, quality - lack of flavour - mediocre quality at best (well put by Yelper Simon T.), and small portions (easily less than 1/2 the meat I get at my regular spots). I'd honestly give it a 1 star but that's reserved for unicorns and the building itself was clean and spacious. read more

Not your typical Vietnamese restaurant anymore. after a year break we came back and everything was completely different. No more typical free tea on arrival. All sauces and cutlery was brought to table after order. The amount in the soups were so sad I think it's a third of a normal pho bowl l. The taste wasn't bad but portion sizes were extremely small. We couldn't wait to get out to get more food elsewhere $35 later. read more

Yikes. This place has really gone downhill. My family used to eat at this restaurant on a weekly basis. We absolutely loved it. Great food, good service, no complaints. Since the Sushi Factory opened in Leduc we haven't been around as much, but we came back for lunch the other day and were so disappointed. The server brought the wrong meal for two of us, so we had to wait for our meals while the other two ate. I was also really disappointed with the pork in my vermicelli bowl- it had some sort of sweet sauce on it that I haven't had before and wasn't a fan of. My partner had a regular bowl of pho- he said there was a great portion of noodles, but the broth was pretty bland, and the "steak" looked like lunch meat. We noticed that they have also increased their prices on everything. To top it all off, three of us got sick that night. Can't say 100% it was this restaurant, but it was the only out of the ordinary thing I ate that day. The good points- the spring rolls were tasty, the place looks lovely since the renovation, and I got enough to eat. The rest of the experience was overwhelmingly negative. read more

Sad to be writing this review. This place has great food, I've been going here for a few years and have always been happy. Went today and was very upset to see that none of the staff was wearing masks or gloves - I don't even think they were sanitizing between serving guests, which is the least that they could have done. There are mixed reviews here on this place, but it continues to be one of my favorite places! It's got a cozy atmosphere, is spotless anytime I go in and their food is consistently delicious! Tonight we were craving Vietnamese and I knew I wanted the vermicelli bowl from PhoXpress! We were seated right away and I got a pot of green tea to warm myself up. We ordered my dish and a mixed meat pho soup for the mister. The meals came out right away looking and smelling amazing! My bowl was so full of meat and everything tasted super fresh. Of course, the spring roll was my favourite part! We were so full by the end that we didn't even finish the meal! The server was pleasant and didn't rush us with the bill. I love the fact that this hidden gem is within walking distance to our home! I definitely recommend trying it out! read more

I am a visitor to Edmonton and was in the Leduc area, I love vietnamese food. I decided to try PhoXpress. Horrendous service by the 2 Filipina servers, looked like they did not want to be there, one was wearing flip flops and yaking on her phone, the other one was talking loudly to someone in the kitchen in Tagalog. No smile, no warmth. The food was tasty, but hardly any protein in them. I ordered the mixed seafood bowl, there was more pineapple and tomatoes than any seafood, I also ordered the shrimp salad roll, it was filled with lettuce and carrots, not a single shrimp in any of them. Me & my fiancé were busy and buzzing around town today and was around the Leduc area. We googled a pho place near by & decided to give this place a go. First of all the girl that greeted us didn't seem like she wanted to work then came the menu. Prices are a lot higher than standard Pho places in & around the city. We were waiting for the girl to come back & heard her groan loudly: " argh! Why is it so dead??!!! " there were a few tables at the restaurant with us & we all looked up at her. Our food arrived & it was really gross. Overly salty and bland. Did not taste like authentic Vietnamese food at all. This is a Vietnamese restaurant that serves primarily Pho. Their Thai Pho, #17 on the menu is my hands down favorite. Spicy and yummy. Their Pho broth is made fresh. It is the base for Pho and they do an amazing job of it. Also they serve a variety of other delicious favorites. Thier Salad Rolls and Green Onion cakes are an appetizer must. This was my second time to this location and both times the food and service were good but last night it was disappointing. There has only been one other time that I found service so poor that I did not leave a tip for the server and that was years ago in a coffee shop. Unfortunately we had to ask twice to have water refilled after waiting too long. Actually my dinner companion got up and got the jug and filled our cups the second time. So I guess we only asked once! We were not EVER asked how our food was. You might be thinking it was a busy day......nope. Only four people in the restaurant! Our food was slow to appear and did not come out appropriately. Our one appetizer was finished before our second came out. Our two mains came out together though. We did see our server when we wanted to pay the bill though. A server just starting her shift was only one that asked if we needed anything and gave us our bull when we asked. I normally don't like to write a bad review but this was the most terrible service ive recieve. As a family when u go eat out we like to have a good time n enjoy good food .Service was terrible ,very rude, loud, no sense of manner. Messed up my whole dining experience. We have to ask for every small thing, salt, sauce etc on top of that food was stale, they serve us old rice. Made me sick n throw up. The server was using broom n vacuming while we dine there, felt like we are unwelcome. Don't go there unless u want to waste ur money for a very poor service and bad stale food. Believe me... I wanted to like PhoXpress. Over the last couple of years, we've found a few little gems in the Leduc area and thought that this could be another. Alas, it was not to be. We had ordered 2 mains, a soup and two bubble teas with our order coming to almost $60.00, not including gratuity. While I thought the total was a little excessive, I was willing to forgo that if the food was good. I thought the portions were far too small for the price and the meat was very scarce in all of our dishes. I like to think that maybe there was a mistake made but even so, that won't change my outlook on this particular restaurant. In my pho with beef, I counted (not that I normally count) only three pieces of beef. For a $12 price tag, I find this somewhat insulting and unacceptable. I also don't know how you can mess up bubble teas. Even my kids didn't like them, and they like EVERYTHING bubble tea related. My one regret is that we got our order to go and didn't notice these things until we got home. If we had stayed, there would have been a word or two said. The staff there seemed very nice and I almost feel guilty for writing a lousy review... almost. There are little things that PhoXpress could do to redeem themselves. 1) Increase the amount of meat in your mains. 2) Try not to have everything taste so bland. 3) A beef satay should not have tomato pieces and a tea-like consistency. 4) If you're not willing to address these little things, you might try lowering your prices somewhat to offset the lack of quality. Did I hate the food? No. Hate is a strong word. Did I love the food? No. Love is a powerful word. Would I come back to try it again? At this point, no. Something extremely drastic would need to be done for me to step back through their doors again. I've been to a lot of out-of-the-way little places like this and usually they have something good going for them. Unfortunately, I'm hard-pressed to find a good thing to say about this place, and that makes me sad. I might suggest that the chef goes back and actually tastes the food before it goes out to the customer. A little can go a long way in having repeat customers and a good word of mouth is a good start. At this rate, I'm afraid that their existence could come to an end before they really get started. I've been to this location four times. I enjoy Pho rice and noodle bowls, and the appetizers. This location does a good job on both. Green onion cakes are good. This is a great alternative to pizza, burgers, or regular Chinese food. I'll go back again. read more

Poor food and poor treatment of wait staff. Who makes staff give them half of their timps anyway? Well the owners of this sub par place do. Staff is what was good but that is why turnover is so high. Won ton noodle soup for the win! Nice fresh veggies, perfectly tender won tons, bits of chicken, a generous portion of rice noodles and aromatic broth. Called in my order on the way home from the office. It was ready to go when I arrived 15min later. Everything was packaged well and very hot. Great value for the serving size. I tried but couldn't finish it all for supper so the rest will be lunch leftovers. Definitely will be eating here again. read more

Have eaten here twice and taken out twice. Mixed feelings about this place. The restaurant is always dead so you'll get seated right away, I find the food to be overpriced although it is pretty good, and it takes an extremely long time for them to prepare it.
