My husband and I learned in December of 2024 that he has a recurring sarcoma that is a nasty s-o-b, and the year 2025 has been a nightmare with chemotherapy sessions and hospital stays involving three weeks in March for treatment of thrush, a colostomy to avoid the tumor, a peg tube to give him nutrition when he has no appetite and blood transfusions, plus two weeks in M D Anderson Hospital in Houston in June to bring him back to life followed by another two weeks in a rehab hospital. Since we moved here in June, we have been enjoying living in a quiet, safe and protecting continuous care community for seniors in midtown Tulsa. The people who are managing the campus are wonderful, and while we didn't want to move here so soon, we know we are the best place for us now that life has gotten more complicated. As long as I am able, I will care for him. When either or both of us need the assistance, we will move into assisted living, and, in time, to their hospital/nursing center. There is also a memory unit now for people needing the services that provides anyone with neurological challenges such as dementia and Alzheimer's. We had been living in an apartment downtown, which we had wanted to do for some time. It was great as long as we were healthy and self-sufficient. We thought we could be there until well into our seventies T least. When I broke my ankle, and when my husband subsequently had the cancer recurrence, we found it more and more difficult to function well. It was then that we de used that we needed to move, but only one more time. Trinity Woods even helped us move-and that was quite a lot of work that they did, moving us from a 16th floor apartment to the patio home. Again, we are so grateful. I The cost is dear, but we are at a point where our lives are everything to us, and we want our children to be able to be with us as family and not as worried care providers. We have talked it over countless times, and feel that when the time came, Trinity Woods was the place for us. We are close to everything we want to do, secure in our home, and supported by a truly caring community. Thanks be to God, I can help my husband to the best of my ability.

I was transferred here from the hospital for rehabilitation after suffering multiple pelvic…read morefractures. They had sent a salesperson to me to market for them who made false statements about how great they are here. Unfortunately, my experience since arriving has been extremely concerning. I arrived at approximately 5:20 PM. Shortly after arrival staff asked if I needed anything and I requested water. The employee later returned and apologized, saying she had forgotten and would go get it. The next time I saw her she was with two other staff members and they again asked if I needed anything. I told them I still needed water and looked at the original employee, who avoided eye contact. It then took another 30 minutes before I finally received water. I also repeatedly asked staff about my scheduled pain medication after arriving. For hours I was told variations of "I'll ask" with no clear answers. Despite arriving in significant pain with multiple pelvic fractures, I did not receive any pain medication until around 9:45 PM, more than four hours after arrival and at thay time is when they done admission paperwork aswell. Another serious issue involved my PureWick catheter system. At one point, a nurse appeared amused by how full my PureWick container was but made no move to empty it. Later, when I urinated again, I learned the hard way that once it becomes too full it will shut off. Because it had not been emptied, it shut off and I ended up urinating in the bed. For a patient with major mobility limitations, that situation is humiliating and should have been prevented. Patients recovering from serious injuries rely entirely on staff for basic needs such as pain control, hydration, and assistance with medical equipment. Based on my experience so far, those basic needs have not been handled with the level of care they should be. Because of these issues, I am seriously considering pursuing a transfer to another facility where patient care and communication are handled more responsibly.

My experience at this facility was deeply disappointing and emotionally distressing…read more I initially came here seeking aquatic physical therapy due to arthritis and mobility at my surgeons request. During my first evaluation, the therapist gave me the option of aquatic or land-based therapy. I clearly stated that I wanted aquatic therapy, but after the evaluation, he decided I should stay at the facility for land therapy instead, saying he was concerned I might slip. That reasoning felt dismissive, especially considering many people with limited mobility, including those in wheelchairs, safely participate in aquatic therapy every day. Later, I returned for a follow-up evaluation with the same therapist to assess my progress. Before we could even begin, I tried to bring up some inaccurate notes that had been added to my MyChart.. notes made by the therapist I had been working with, not him. I just wanted to understand why certain things were written because they weren't true and were never discussed with me. Rather than responding with care or curiosity, he became immediately defensive, cold, and dismissive, as if I had personally insulted him. We never even got to the evaluation. I left the facility in tears. As someone who already struggles with severe anxiety, the interaction was incredibly triggering. I felt completely invalidated, unsupported, and alone. Even though a manager later stepped in and offered to help transition me to aquatic therapy, the damage was already done. This was not a trauma-informed, patient-centered environment. I sincerely hope others have a better experience, but I would urge anyone who is physically or emotionally vulnerable to be cautious and speak up for yourself. Compassion and understanding should never be optional in healthcare .. but unfortunately, that's exactly how I was made to feel.

The day of surgery a very attentive hospital nurse decided to ask more questions of me while I was being prepped for surgery. During that discussion it was discovered the hospital did not have my allergy sheet nor did the doctor know of my allergies. Dr. Holt came to my surgery bay and spoke very rudely and blamed me. The hospital staff then blamed him. My surgery was canceled. It was discovered later that morning that his medical staff had not input my allergy sheet into my electronic medical record but it was clearly listed on my new patient paperwork. The implant that was ordered contained a material I am allergic to and had documented on my medical history sheet. Not once did Dr. Holt apologize or reach out to me. His office requires $900 payment for a computer program he uses during surgery. His office won't schedule surgery without you agreeing to pay this fee. His office would not refund the $900 fee for three weeks and in that period two different employees called to get me scheduled in at a later date (after "extensive allergy testing" ) and with a different doctor in practice. His negligence and unprofessionalism severely traumatized me. He has yet to even address my concerns or the matter but thought that I would allow him to operate on me after such callousness and carelessness. No way!
