PTC always has a doctor. They can do X-rays in house. They can do most lab work in house. They listen to the patient. They can even schedule minor surgeries in house. I took my boyfriend here over the weekend for what we thought was one thing and the doctor said it was something else. we questioned her and she went completely off on us because she said she had been practicing for over 35 years. It was extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional for her to act that way towards us. Later, my boyfriend called to get a note for his work based on the medicine he was prescribed. He was told he would be contacted back within 24 hours. He has yet to hear back. I took him to a different practice for another opinion and we had a much better experience. Medical walk-in The Physicians Treatment Center (PTC) is one of the larger and more efficient walk-in medical offices in Lynchburg, assuming you are not in dire need of emergency room treatment. There are essentially two parts to this business:  the section open to the general public, located on the first floor and the second floor is devoted to one of the larger employers in the area. The main floor is the primary nexus as the upstairs has more limited hours.  Calling and making an appointment helps, but you can walk-in, put your name on the list and wait it out. The list of names is called in order and you fill out some paperwork and go back to waiting.  The waiting area is pretty clean and in good shape with a TV showing news or something, to help kill the time. Once called you head on in to get whatever it is that ails you looked at - in most cases they can get you setup with a prescription and get you on your way.  This is definitely the place to go for your average cold or minor injury, versus going to a hospital. They are a full service medical office for the most part.  The doctors / PA's / nurses are all pretty pleasant and the rooms your will eventually get show to are also very clean and brightly lit. Walked in to get my son a sports physical which mind u they do NOT bill ur insurance company for and were told they could not see him bc he has Medicade. We weren't even using it im paying out of pocket and they are discriminating against us bc we have Medicade. This has me so over the top pissed off I can't even see straight. Who the f*** do they think they are? So what good does Medicade do u if u can't even be seen? This is the biggest bunch of bullshit I have ever heard and I will never come here again. My son will be on full coverage insurance by this time next year and I still wouldn't be coming back here again to give them my money. I plan to still call and give someone an earful about this dumbass decision someone made here. So physicians treatment Center discriminates and turns away medicade patient just for being on medicade. I don't know about everybody else's experience at PTC, but mine was great! The facility is clean, staff presented themselves in a professional manner. Actually, the staff had great energy and nice too! One staffer greeted every patient that walked in the door with a smile and called them sweetie. I had to wait in the lobby for a while before seeing a doctor, but that's to be expected. As soon as the medical assistant led me to the doctor's office, I only had to for 5 minutes to be seen by the doctor . That never happens! read more

Sweet people and thorough care! I brought my twin sister here for sore throat and fever. Nita was warm and showed genuine compassion for her when getting her vital signs. Her NP, Kurt, continued this excellent care and offered to swap her medicine for a liquid because she was having difficulty swallowing. This was my second time this month bringing a loved one here and they never disappoint. I have a lot of trust in this medical facility. read more

UVA hospital is trying to get me an appointment with Dr Matthew Tatum for a pre op before my surgery can be scheduled. The so called individuals answering the phones but the lady from UVA on hold to transferred her to another individual who claims I'm not a patient of Dr Tatum!!!! Out right lie ! Hire individuals who want to do the work ! She was hung up on then ! I hope Dr Tatum sees this because he knows who I am & I am his patient. First of all, this is a stressful time. So I appreciate the services here to be offered. That said, my experience with Dr. Kind Wolf was frustrating. She thinks she had great bedside manner, but sadly doesn't. She overtalks, and loudly, and does not care got the patient. Maybe it's the times but I believe this is just her typical non Covid treatment. She needs to di better in listening to patients and their needs. They don't want an unnecessary lecture after seeing a number of specialists. Nor do the want it when they haven't had a chance to explain what's wrong. read more

Bad service ! Rude employees! They need to learn how to actually help people instead of ignoring them.

My son came in basically hyperventilating because he was coughing so hard during an asthma attack. We were seen quickly by the doctor and was told that he'd be getting a breathing treatment ASAP and a chest X-ray. After over 20 mins of waiting and my son's breathing declining even worse, I had to find someone to bring the breathing treatment. The doctor was nice enough, but completely messed up the medicines that he prescribed so that my son wasn't able to get his steroid inhaler until two days later. I called them and they said it would take up to 24 hours to fix it. Then the next day they sent AGAIN the wrong medicine despite what Walgreens had recommended to them for his age and weight. Ridiculous. Will never go back. read more

I've been there several times and every time it's at least a 2 hour wait. This is not my regular dr but somewhere I was sent through work. I'm not sure why it takes so little to be seen. Other patients in the waiting room shared the same complaint. read more

Pitiful. Nothing more frustrating than to visit a Treatment Center and have the staff stick you in a treatment/exam room and forget about you. Finally, after 55 minutes, I went out looking for someone for help and found the Dr with his nose in his phone. I said "I'll be back when I can get the service I need" and left. Great staff! Even though I have an interalist I still visit PTC; especially Saturdays or in emergency situations or a visit that I know will be simple (i.e. sinus infection or sore throat). The staff is always courteous and helpful. They really do care. This isn't just a profession for these people, it's a lifestyle. The only reason I don't give five stars is because of the wait. There's usually a long wait time, especially on the weekends due to other doctors being closed. If you don't want to hit the ER, this place will be a great help! read more

Had to call for an appointment for my job and the lady that I spoke to, Cathy W., has a very nasty attitude. Whoever oversee this office really need to have a talk with her, because I am not the only one from my job that she had gotten an attitude with. Never Again!!! Nurses were nice but I can't say the same about the receptionist, as soon as I walked in I didn't receive a "hello, how are you doing, or anything. They looked straight through me. RUDE! Then I waited 2 hours to be seen. THANK GOD I WASN'T SICK and was just getting a simple TB shot (that only took 30 seconds to complete). My advice is to go else where. read more

I still travel from Raleigh to get specific care here. PTC had always been a great place for me when I lived in Lynchburg and I still run up from Raleigh when I want great care! Bring a book if you have a problem waiting. It's just the way it is. No big deal. read more

I recently broke my toe, and not having a local g.p. I went over to PTC. Everyone from the technician who weighed me, the x-ray technician and the doctors I met, were kind,caring and intelligent. I particularly respect Doctor VanBuskirk and Doctor Dustin Allen. They took the time to answer my questions and explain my treatment while treating me with care. read more

Horrible! Came here a couple months ago had a past balance of $300 paid that plus another $100 for the reason I was there. Came in today due my daughter who was very sick they said I had a past balance of $75 and they needed my daughters copy of $30. I was short on cash so they couldn't see my very sick 2 year old. I was very satisfied with the wait time and the front desk. But, the nurse Lindsay Nezbeth was not friendly at all. I was very disappointed listening to all the other nurses and how they were interacting with the patients and how she treated me. I really feel like calling corporate about how unfriendly she was. Receptionist were very pleasant. Got to the back to see Dr.Ingle he came in, didn't introduce himself, didn't greet me. Just asked "why are you here today?" He seemed very irritated as I begin to explain why I was there for the 3rd time he kept saying "I can't hear you" I spoke very loud and clear. I then told him my reason for my visit and he sat back and said "well what do you want me to do?" I asked could he Re-Prescribe my medicine I had taken a year ago. He told me no he wasn't going to do that and that I could find a Primary Family practice if that's what I wanted. I explained to him I currently do not have a primary care physician that is why I came here and paid my Copay for you to help me out. I don't know much about the doctors or other staff here because the receptionist was rude and made me feel stupid for asking a simple question. That is not the way to speak to people who are ill or stressed out looking for a place to be treated. Definitely won't be coming here unless it is an absolute emergency. read more

I've received nothing but excellent and prompt care at PTC for over two years. The staff and physicians are professional and approachable. They accept my insurance (military retiree, TRICARE). My wife recently received excellent "walk in" care for diagnosed pneumonia; she's switching her primary care to PTC. read more

Visiting from NC. Got some kind of spider bite? Went there to have it checked. Check in procedure consist of signing in with no staff contact. Waited 45 minutes heard from no one,. It was only when I got up to leave that someone from staff spoke to me and told me there were 4 ahead. No idea of when to be seen. Looking at webpage 45 min to 1.5 hrs before being checked in. Not very patient oriented. More in line with a military type of operation. Have gotten better service with my dog at the vet. I left no plans of ever returning even if the service were free. read more

This "place of business" is highly unprofessional and I do not understand how they are still in business especially when there are two other wonderful places that I can think of off of the top of my head that offer the same type of care in town. Firstly, the wait time is ridiculous!! They have no respect for anyone's time. This is absolutely atrocious especially since their office is always bustling with employees. I thought that I would go early in the morning but boy, was I wrong!!! That made no difference. When I arrived, there were 5 cars in the parking lot. I signed in and my intake was done. I waited for an hour as I saw people who got there after me come and go. The parking lot was full by the time I was seen and the patients who were in the waiting room before me were long gone. I went to the window and asked the kind, young lady when I would be seen because I have been here for nearly and hour. She told me they had two lines and I was next. I came in for a pre-employment drug testing which was to be done by hair. The first thing that the male employee does is make a big emphasis on how he does not have his scissors and ohhh how he must go get his scissors. It was almost like he relished at the fact of cutting my hair when all it really did was show his incompetence because he knew why I was there. He then began to talk out loud and say how he wanted to see where he would take the hair from in my head. I asked him if he could do a few strands to which he replied no, it must be cut from my head. I asked him how much hair? He said the size of a cotton ball. I politely asked him what he meant by the size of a cotton ball (I asked because I knew he could be confused and could have meant the top of a cotton swab.) He rudely responded and said I don't know, the size of a cotton ball. I then told him that he could take the hair from somewhere else on my body but he could not take that much hair from my head. At that moment he said alright we are done. I said excuse me. He said that was the only way this company would take my hair. As I was leaving he made a snide and unnecessary comment about me not wanting the job. He was absolutely out of place and inexcusably unprofessional. Before I went in to do the testing, I had already done my research. The hair that they took did not have to be from my head. It could have been from another place on my body. What he said made no sense. There are people with no hair and the hair must be taken from other place on the body. I know he could have taken my hair from elsewhere but he did not want to take my hair from elsewhere. It was almost as if he was giddy with excitement to cut my hair, maybe he should work as a barber or dog grooming since cutting hair excites me. If I could leave this establishment with no stars, I would. read more
