It's not fun to get a Covid test, and when you're a kid, it's even more not fun. But we got it done, waited a little bit for the results, and then we were on our way. A few minutes later the nurse practioner, Rebecca, comes in and very brusquely tells me that I have a virus and needed to see a functional medicine doctor because I have mold in my body. Really? I used to get sinus infections all the time when I lived in Texas, and still get them once or twice a year. Rebecca is younger, probably 25, and it's doubtful she spent much time as a nurse seeing patients. Rebecca them throws open the door and tells me "We're done here," stomps out and throws her pen on her desk. I replied "Thank you" and left. I then went to another urgent care where the NP was closer to my age and probably had a lot more experience seeing patients and is willing to listen to them.
