I purchased a group on for the B-12 shots and of course, as normal, I waited for the LAST minute to use them(I purchased 2 for a total of 4 shots). Prior to attempting to use them, I called the establishment and the person who answered was a rock star. She gave me all the information that i needed, most importantly, that I didn't need an appointment for the shots. Fast fwd - I get there, sign in and they ask me I have been there previoulsy. I say, NO and tell them that I have a group on. The older, short, brown/blonde attendant ask me to fill out a form - I give her this look when I see the form - because I am NOT doing a program. I just want my drugs lady. After filling out the form, a more senior person comes out and gives the lady(brown/blonde) the same look because I only had a groupon. After that confusion, I got my shot expeditiously and was overall satisfied - despite the mis-communication. Additionally, the more senior(in experience) lady allowed me to redeem both groupons so that they would not expire on me. I'll be back, for the rest of my groupon value ;) read more

Update., down 30 lbs in One year, just walking and taking the RX ,the pills worked for me! not sure what all the bad reviews are?? i'm happy and i recommend this place., need to go back for a refill but if you diet and are consistent you will loose the weight.. ......I was skeptical after reading all these bad reviews! They are nice and I was able to see a Dr and get a prescription for Phentermine, you have to take to your own pharmacy, you do pay the visit, first time it's pricy, after that you pay for the prescription refill (100.00) at the clinic then you do have to pay for the RX at the pharmacy about (40) for 30 pills.. I purchased a Groupon a couple of years ago for this Center. I received the laser treatment in which the Groupon covered for two, the woman told me that four does not do much so I ended up purchasing 4 along with pills which was of course extra money. After 4 treatments I did not receive much of any results so they continued to treat me an extra 4 times and was able to see a little more results than what was shown before. The initial purpose of this place to help others is really good but as for the results...I did not see any and feel as if it was a waste of money and time purchasing. SCAM! * PWLC (Carolyn Murry, owner) called me almost daily for a couple weeks after my initial free visit to get me to sign up. Of course, they didn't want me to even leave there without signing the contract. They made me put down at least half of the total 20 week payment with the contract. This wasn't even an option until I pressed them about it. They wanted the full amount right away. After I paid, I didn't exist. * Carolyn told me it was covered 70-80 % under my insurance. This was a lie. My insurance said they don't cover PWLC. Carolyn said that wasn't entirely true because certain procedures they do are covered partially. (She only told me this AFTER I called the insurance company and got the truth. I'm not sure what procedures she meant but I'm guessing it's the bloodwork only. I see no other procedures on the form.) * Carolyn didn't tell me I had to spend an additional $38- $57 a week on top of the $2,590 for their special protein supplements until AFTER I signed the contract. These supplements are required for the program. That is an additional $760- $1,140 total added to my bill. * Carolyn didn't tell me that the diet plan will be very low calories until AFTER you sign up. I was shocked to find out I was going on 500 calories. * The diet is very hard to maintain because you are always hungry. * They tell you that you will be getting a "personalized weight loss program." It's not personalized. * "Physician Weight Loss" is a joke! I saw a doctor once for 10 minutes. * There is no "one-on-one counseling" or "diet teaching to develop better eating habits" as stated in the form I received regarding treatment plan. * They asked me to track my food on the plan they give you and bring it to meetings. They have never once asked to see it or discuss it with me. * When I faxed a letter from my primary care physician requiring me to go off the diet and be refunded the money from the payment I paid upfront, Carolyn ignored my faxes and calls for months. I finally received a partial refund 5 MONTHS LATER but she refused to give me the $350 more that she owed me, giving some excuse about upfront costs. In short, I was scammed out of over $1,000 and lost no weight. PLEASE AVOID!!!! * There are also complaints on the Better Business Bureau page. read more

Caution. They will make you go through a contract and have you buy sugary food for physician diet for 800 calorie. Also will make you buy expensive B12 injections which doesn't work. First question "did you purchase the coupon yet". WOW!! I tired the HCG weight loss for one month. Before I bought it, I was NOT told that I would need to purchase the water enhancer ($40 for two weeks). After about two weeks, the HcG was not doing what it was supposed to be doing at all; I was still very hungry which I shouldn't be to that extent while on this diet, so I was told to purchase a protein shake (twenty something dollars for 7 packets). I was on a 500 calorie diet and the hcg wasn't suppressing my appetite at all. I did not lose weight. They did tell me to come in when I was done so they can try to help me out, but they couldn't do anything about it so that wasn't really helping me out at all. Ended up spending so much money on something that didn't work, plus extra money for all those hidden things I need to buy that I wasn't told about before I purchased it. Don't waste your money here. I tried their $600 hCG diet plan and was promised a lot of things, only to find out they just give you a packet of basic calorie (super outdated) information, the HCG, and a box of needles and tell you to come in and weigh yourself whenever you want. No appointment necessary, no following up with anyone, no concern or suggestions when you follow their program to a T and lose 4 pounds in a month. I was promised Results and 12-15, but the manager then said "everyone is different, you should buy more of our $12 protein bars". The Nava wellness center located down the street does and entire body work with labs, customizes the program to you. Not only do they charge less (695 for 2 months of weight loss vs $800-1,200 to hand you HCG), but they actually have you schedule appointments just for your LipoB shots, so they see how your health and wellness are and really coach you along the way. The B12 shots are also half the price at Nava. Because they don't schedule appointments, I had to wait 45-60 min just to get on a scale. I ordered the HCG for the 2nd month on through a reputable company online for $200 something (just research) and had better results. Still not 15 pounds in a month like others, but 10 more. I wish I had saved the money, gone to Nava Wellness, tried online options first or listened to the reviews about this place!! read more

I went to PWLC in Columbia to get the Venus Freeze done on my arms. Julie did my treatment sessions for me and she is AWESOME! Julie has great customer services skills, she is very professional, and easy to talk to. Sometimes when you go to "weight loss" places you can feel uncomfortable sharing your information, but Julia was understanding and non-judgemental. The only reason I didn't continue to go was because their prices are rather high. But, if I had the extra money, I would have went back for several more sessions. read more

Bought a groupon for laser lipo, which was through SlimCo that I guess that works with this center for this "treatment." I also purchased 3 additional treatments for a total of 6 treatments to see the results I wanted. At the end of the treatments I did not see any results in weight loss in the target areas which for me was my lower belly and love handles. It was a waste of money and time. I also did not feel comfortable coming to this center - all the women who worked here were not friendly at all. I was rarely greeted every time I came into the facility. There were also a few times I was left in the room unattended for longer than 15 mins after my treatment. The "laser" also burned my skin but one of the women told me that it would be okay and encouraged me to turn the laser/heat higher. The last few times the one woman who worked there referred to me as the "tiny girl" even in front of the other patients. It was unprofessional and uncomfortable and I felt like they were not giving me the type of customer service that was kind or encouraging for a weight loss center. This could have been due to the fact that I am already relatively in shape and I had purchased a discounted Groupon. Either way I will not be returning or wasting my money on laser lipo. read more

I went in to sign up for their weight loss program. I tried to ask some questions, but all the lady was focused on, was getting me to sign. She never explained anything. Instead, she spent the entire time telling me how wonderful the program is, and how much success people have had. I signed - despite the cost - which was about 1200 for the 10 week program even with the discount. They ask you to go for bloodwork so they can check out your levels of everything, but the doctor is only there for about 2-3 hours every two weeks, so I had to wait that entire time to see him. When I finally walked in for my appointment, the doctor was busy so I met with some lady who told me that I would have to cut my intake down to 600 calories per day until they stabilized me at 1100 calories. Now, I'm an athlete who works out regularly, so I complained that this is too low (every doctor has told me that the minimum calories I should be eating is 1600 per day to be healthy). She told me that I wouldn't be able to work out on this program because the calorie intake is too low and not conducive to that. She then tells me that I would need to purchase their shakes (an extra $40/week), and "suggests" the b12 shots which would be an extra $40/week. I asked what the results were if you didn't take the shots, and she said, "everyone takes them, so we don't know." I decided to try a shot because they offered me a free one. The lady that gave me the shot was extremely unprofessional. The shots go in your butt, and the lady commented on a tattoo that I have on my lower back/top of my butt. Totally unprofessional!!! I complained that I didn't want to do the program anymore because I was never told of these extra expenses. They told me that it was part of the program and I should want to get them to lose weight. For anyone who cares, THERE'S ABSOLUTELY NO PROOF THAT B12 SHOTS HELP WITH WEIGHT LOSS. If you need proof, feel free to look at the Mayo Clinic website, Healthline, or any other reputable medical website. They are simply a ploy to make more money off of you. As for the shakes, you can get anything cheaper - Isagenix, EAS Lean 15, Shakeology, or any other weight loss protein powder. This is another scam for this company. Finally the franchise owner came in, and spent an hour trying to tell me how I shouldn't look at the calorie intake, but the nutrients in the calories. DUH. Anyone knows that a 1200 calorie egg mcmuffin is not as healthy and a 300 calorie egg-white omelet with lots of veggies. I finally walked out of there, and had several more "conversations" with the owner. I finally ended up calling the VP at Corporate HQ to complain about these people, and only after several more conversations did the lady actually attempt to provide some customer service. Bottom line: This place is the biggest scam you will ever see. They make you feel like you're an idiot, and are only focused on their bottom line. You will do much better spending your money on some good quality protein powder and a personal trainer/dietition, not to mention you'll save a ton of money. Deducted one star for my experience today. I drove 18 miles from Silver Spring to the center only to be told that they were not going to provide me with a shot. I called the center and told them I would arrive 5 minutes after they closed and asked if there was a possibility that they could take me. The woman on the phone said that she would try to accommodate me of they were still here. When I arrived they were standing inside and made me wait a few minutes before coming to the door to tell me that everything was off and they were done for the day. Nice customer accommodation. Now I'm stuck with a package for 4 shots at a place I don't even want to give my money to. I am displeased with their behavior, and I refuse to continue to provide them any of my money. THEY ARE FRAUDS!!!! I found a coupon on Living Social for Zerona laser treatments so I called the center to make an appointment. I spoke to a woman by the name of Carolyn who spoke with me about Zerona, showed me before & after pictures, and gave me information on what I need to do during the duration of my treatments (which included eat a low calorie diet, exercise, drink plenty of water, and cut out alcohol). I was already doing these things so it wasn't much of a lifestyle change for me. Anyway, she honored the discount and scheduled my appointment. She said I needed a minimum of 6 treatments to show results but another 3 treatments would increase my satisfaction by 85%. So I ended up paying $1100 for these 9 treatments. Overwhelmed with excitement and not realizing it at the time but I was never given a copy of any of the paperwork that I signed, which probably stated company policy. I went for 6 of my treatments (which was the minimum) and on that last treatment I told one of the ladies that due to a funeral on the following Monday, a mandatory work meeting the following Wednesday, and my work hours the following Friday I was unable to make my last 3 appointments. I asked that they change my appointment time so I didn't have to miss but they said they were fully booked and unless someone cancelled they couldn't do that. So then I requested that they refund me the money for the last 3 treatments, which was an extra $375, since I wouldn't be able to get them. Carolyn then told me that there are no refunds after the payment was made and they are not obligated to reschedule once the schedule is made. So not only did I lose $375 BUT the 6 treatment that I did get did not work at all! I followed the exact directions I was given and there was absolutely no change in my body. I didn't lose even 1 pound and I was not even an inch smaller in the area being treated. I thought for a second maybe it was because I didn't get the extra 3 treatments but my boss also bought 9, received all of his treatments, and he didn't see any results either.
