I have tried so many different programs, over the last five years. I was able to lose weight and all of them, however they had no system or process to help me maintain that loss. This program is healthy and sustainable. The expense kept me honest, for sure, as I was not about to blow my investment with stupid choices. Losing my muffin top meant dropping 10 pounds. and it did take some 12 weeks. I am 68 years old and was fighting bronchitis must of that time, however. Some men, for example seem to lose this amount in less than a month, but let's not compare... The one-on-one coaching is not with the same person unless you ask for it in advance. I have my favorite, but they all know their subject and not at all preachy. The weigh-in's and analyses of fat versus muscle changes were extremely helpful. What would you say if I told you that you could lose 170 lbs. in 8 months? What if I told you that you could do it eating six times a day, never being hungry once and eating in a restaurant at least four times a week? You would probably call me a liar, but that is precisely what I just did on EMP 180! My name is Drew, and I began the EMP 180 weight loss program on 8/23/2018. At the time, I was a 44 YO old father of 2. My kids were 5 and 8, and I was a General Manager of a restaurant for almost the entirety of the time I was on the program. For those looking for the facts, I am 5'9" and started the program at 368.8 lbs. My body fat percentage was 46.4% and my visceral fat level was unreadable (on a scale of 1-20). As I write this, I am 201.2 lbs. with a body fat percentage of 13.3% and a visceral fat level of 5 (I "graduate" tomorrow). Science! Yay, science! This program works! All that you have to do is follow the program EXACTLY as prescribed, and you cannot fail. The staff at EMP 180 will create a personal and individualized program for just you with the goal to keep you in a constant and efficient state of fat burn. They accomplish this by using specific standards in nutrition, timing, and portion sizes. I took no drugs (unless you count a daily multi-vitamin, a great probiotic, and fish oil capsules), no shots, and never missed a meal. I ate six times a day and was not hungry once on the program. My wife likes to say that this program is for jarheads (I am a former Marine), by jarheads. What she means by that is that this program is very much suited to the way that I approach my life. The program is very structured yet flexible. You are held accountable for your actions, but with compassion. Above all else, you get out exactly what you put into it. In the last eight months, my nutrition and long-term health have been THE priority in my life. For the first time, it has taken precedence over just about everything else. That is the level of commitment I made to my health, and it is why I have been so successful on this program. I have had phenomenal results on the program because I refused to take short cuts. I realize this probably sounds arrogant; it is not meant to be. I do want to be very clear about what it took me to accomplish this, though. In the eight months that I have been on the program, I did not cheat once. That means no "off-program" meals, no un-authorized snacks, staying within my time limits, and tracking all of it daily. When you show up, the first thing you will do is step on the scale and get an initial body scan. EMP 180 uses the InBody scan system, which measures your weight and complete body composition. With this information, the staff at EMP 180 gets their first real look at your situation and will discuss your case with you in your consult. The team will give you a compassionate, yet candid, assessment of your physical health and what they see as being a path out of the woods and back into a healthy state of being. It is essential to realize that everyone's body is different and that everyone's body will respond differently to the program. Spikes, fluctuations, and cycles will also happen while on the program, but it is imperative that you stay the course. Remember, science! The first month can be a little harsh, so you have to be mentally prepared to buckle down and find a groove. My initial stress and anxiety came from where I would receive the daily allotted amount of vegetables and how to make time to cook for myself. It took me a while to figure out how and where I could incorporate them to reduce the stress I was feeling about including them. Once you do find a groove, stay in it! Timing and consistency are 2 of the things that allowed me to achieve my success! The questions that I probably get the most about the program are about cost and the food itself. I'll be clear, it isn't a cheap fad diet, but you absolutely get what you pay for. The financial stake also helped to keep me accountable! I would gladly have paid 3 times what I did to get back to this point in my life! While on the program, you receive 4.5 meals a day. You get breakfast, morning snack, afternoon and evening protein drinks, and a soup or stew for lunch. You will be responsible for your dinner and a portion of vegetables for lunch. 2 stars are for the people who work there, great staff. If I was rating the food I'd give it 1 star and the cost would be one star. When I signed up I regretted not asking what the food was like. I assumed a Jenny Craig or something of the like- didn't expect what I received. All in all I ate about 6 things for 8 weeks (most were snack items that I did enjoy) after a while you get tired of it. I think this is a great program for some folks, it just wasn't for me. It wasn't worth the cost. I did lose about 7-8 lbs on the program, no where near what I had anticipated. However, I did enjoy meeting with the coaches every week. They're all personable and have some good tips. I do have a suggestion for EMP 180- Create another program that is 1/2 the cost- no food provided, just counseling on what whole foods we should eat. I would have gotten so much more out of the program. I did EMP because a good friend wanted to lose weight as well, we were going to do it together but given the cost, she decided to go to a nutritionist. In 2 months she lost 17 lbs and she learned a lot about her body and her nutrition. Lesson learned. read more

EMP 180 has been what I've needed. I exploded up to 300 lbs. and through their program I lost 40 lbs. in the first 3 months and am expected to lose 50 more lbs. over the next 5. I cannot recommend them enough! read more

Very expensive in my opinion. When I went for the initial consultation at the Ashburn location the cost per week was $285.00 and they required $750.00 minimum payment. If you paid more upfront the cost per week could decrease to $239.00 per week. I am sure that they can take the weight off but I just could not justify the cost. Well I am now down 36lbs without EMP 180. It's all about discipline and reward. Exercise 5 days a week for at least 1 1/2 hours each day and low carb ( less than 10 grams per day). First two weeks suck but then it is pain free and routine. Going to lose 25 more starting today. read more

Beware, EMP 180 is Keto with bad food!! I read glowing reviews online (now I wonder about these reviews) and heard my talk show host say great things about it on the radio, and I was so eager to lose weight, so I sign up. How naïve of me. When I got there, they insisted this was not Keto, I asked for some food samples, they would not provide any and assured me the food was delicious (all the food is in the form of powder). I figured I'm not picky about food, I can eat just about anything, I'll sign up. The contract is either $3,000 or $5,000. If not satisfied you have one week to cancel, but they will retain $750. The ladies were friendly, and they gave me my weekly food, and I left with high hopes. On day two I was miserable with the "Keto flu" bad headache, fatigued, nauseous, and weak. I was told this was not Keto, this is Keto! Plus, the food was really bad, especially the artificially sweet stuff like the shakes, protein bars, and pancake mix. it has a nauseating chalky sweetness to it (my growing teenager who eats anything couldn't eat either). With Keto you can have bacon, eggs, avocado, and butter, yummy real food. With EMP 180 you have to eat their food plus your own veggies and lean meats. I spoke with them nicely and canceled on day two. The first consultation of $30 was already paid, so I basically paid $750 for one week of powder food that I won't eat. This was a very expensive mistake. We are better off with a program that offers counseling plus real foods. read more

So Far So Good I am really liking it so far. My husband and I are doing EMP 180 together, after I admitted to him my frustration with my own eating impulses. My weight has yo-yo'd for the past 6 years, even though I am a fitness instructor. I had about 20-25 lbs to lose, he had about 60. We have been on the program for about a month, and I have lost about 13 lbs, he has lost about 25 lbs. I have actually achieved my goal of 8 percent visceral fat and 28% BMI in just 3 1/2 weeks, even though the actual lbs lost is not at goal. Since I paid for 7 weeks, I am going to keep on with their food and drop a bit more weight. Plus it will help to keep along with my husband, who has several more weeks to complete as well. We are enjoying preparing dinners together, talking about the EMP foods we like and just generally encouraging each other in our daily eating plans. We are envisioning how it will be when we both "graduate" and go on what EMP 180 describes as a "whole foods" program. Prior to that, you are paying a steep amount for their packaged food, so your have incentive to stick with it and not cheat. In my opinion, graduation is when you find out if you have really changed your eating habits. Once we reach our goals we are expected to come in the get weighed about once a month, and if we fall off the wagon and gain a little more than we should, EMP will provide counseling free of charge and work with us to get back on track. I highly recommend couples doing this program together. I think it would have been hard for either of us to do it separately. Both of us love to get our money's worth, so we are determined to earn our graduation and lifetime membership of support from this company. I started the EMP 180 program on May 21, today is August 5, 2021 and I went from 329.2 # to 292.3 # and feeling good. Breakfast and lunch are from packets and any healthy thing on their lists you can add to them, green veggies was my go to veggie. At dinner you may eat meat or fish plus more veggies...so between every meal you get a protein snack (drink, pudding, shake or bar). It is expensive but there comes a time in your life that if you don't address all your problems are coming from weight then you will continue going downhill. read more

SO....I am always suspicious of companies that do not post thier prices on the inter-web. Companies that you have to press hard for an average price. After 3 emails I got an average of $1000.00 per month. What are you suppose to pay that for a year or two. That is just crazy. My instincts were right that I thought this would be a good program but I had a feeling they get you in the room and hard sell you. So I say never trust a company that is not upfront with prices and they are hidden. I bet if I went in I could get this price down but I am at the point in life I am done dealing with stupid things. I joined the program with my Mom in August. We each had the goal to lose all the excess fat we had been carrying around. With the encouragement each week by the coaches, I was able to stay on the plan and successfully lose 40 pounds of fat in four months! I feel great! I am currently in the maintenance phase of the program. I have continued to lose weight. And, I am learning how to incorporate more exercise into my weekly schedule. The EMP program helped me learn how my body processes the various foods I consume. The coaches continue to suggest helpful ways to maintain my new weight. I would recommend this program to anyone! My experience was not good - they told me I could lose 20lbs in two months and then quoted me the cost which was over $2000 which surprised me - but I thought the 20lb loss in 2 months sounded pretty good so I went for it - long story short in the two months I lost about 5 lb - each week they said I was doing fine - that women lose more slowly than men - and then my time was up and they said it would be another $2000 to continue - I said good bye - the food is not good and has an overly sweet taste - very disappointed! read more

I completed a 20 week program that cost a little over $5000 and lost about 50 pounds (81% of which was fat and 19% was muscle). One of EMP's selling points is that you may receive lifetime follow up consultations if you achieve a certain body fat level percentage and visceral fat level. EMP heavily sold this in my initial consultation and indicated it would be easily achievable following their guidelines during the program. Despite following the program strictly and losing a good deal of weight, I fell significantly short of the goals needed to achieve the continuing consultations. I believe this is due to a combination of EMP getting my protein intake incorrect, and a lack of diversity in some of the things I was eating. I was initially told that I should not lose muscle mass beyond the first two weeks, however loss of muscle mass was common throughout my program (there is a direct correlation between muscle mass gain and fat loss). I felt like there were times that EMP's nutritionists were taking a wait and see approach instead of seeing that my muscle mass loss was an ongoing issue and making appropriate adjustments. Also, there were a couple incidents where they made significant errors on my food orders (like forgetting all of my powdered lunches for the week), which caused me to have to drive back 45 minutes to the office to get the items. One time they had to close minutes before I was able to get back to the office and had to leave my food hanging on the outside of their door. They seemed to fix these errors midway through my program by hiring someone new to fill the orders. In sum, there are a few things you should keep in mind as a consumer: 1. The lifetime consultations may not be as easy to achieve as you are lead to believe in your initial consultation (even if you follow the program strictly while you are on it). 2. Review the approved foods menu closely during the initial consultation. If you don't feel like you can diversify the approved foods available (particularly the vegetables), your body may start to plateau eating the same thing every week, which could cause you to lose a minimal amount of weight during certain weeks. 3. Be prepared to spend a lot of money (and not just on the program itself). You will be constantly buying food to meet your protein, vegetable, and salad quotas. read more

It is by far the most effective Weightloss program that I know of. It is not just cosmetic weightloss, but it will help people to make a permanent change in their lifestyle, that will have a tremendous effect on their health and eliminates MANY RISK FACTORS THAT COULD SHORTen their lifespan.. It reversed completely my pre-diabetes condition and dropped my total body fat percentage from 31 to below 17% in a mere 8 weeks! Visceral fat also went from a level 11 to 5, and this is crucial to lower your risk for heart disease and Diabetes! I know a little about this, since I practiced Internal Medicine for 43 years and had to council thousands of patients about how to improve their health. About this time last year as I was getting ready to travel to Seattle for a wedding and I wanted some nice new clothes but was wearing 2XL shirts and 42 inch waist pants due to my weight of 231 pounds. After I returned home and got some alarming blood sugar, triglycerides and cholesterol numbers my daughter suggested I try the program at EMP180. In 14 weeks I lost a total of 31 pounds but more amazing was when my doctor saw my A1c had dropped from 8.0 to 5, triglycerides from 447 to 96, and cholesterol from 204 to 96. More than a weight loss program EMP180 is a "get healthy program". It takes some discipline (won't power versus will power) and the prepared foods aren't going to win any culinary awards but the program has worked for me beyond all expectations! The only downside is having to buy all new clothes!
