The piano tuning cost $385. $100 of that was for being over 20 miles from the place of business. (The place of business is pretty much at least 20 miles from anywhere!) A friend in my neighborhood had his tuned for less than half that. The tech wanted to sell me additional services which required his taking the keyboard out of my piano into his shop. The keyboard service was to be an additional $600 (on special). Allegedly the felt on the hammers will need replacement at some future point - especially since I didn't get the keyboard serviced - for approximately $3000. (No mistake: three thousand dollars.). The tuning seems alright, but I am not expert enough to tell whether it is good or not. I feel like I've been had, but maybe he's as good as he thinks he is and the half price guy may be not. I should have asked his price. Yelp sometimes excludes some reviews in the average I think. Buyer beware. Oh; he also said he can install those automatic piano playing electronic devices - very cool. I don't think he said the price of that. I read the other review; I guess I'm "poor" too. read more

This company is wonderful. They helped to make my dream of bringing home a piano come true. The owner is super helpful and is a wealth of knowledge, and was so patient with me as I asked so many questions while out looking for the right piano to bring home. His two sons that completed the move were very punctual, respectful, and detail oriented. We enjoyed watching the moving process and they were so kind to my kids who had a million questions about how and why and what they were doing. I found Piano tech quite by accident on google. We were in the process of moving and I needed to have my piano stored as our new place would not be ready for close to 6 months. i first spoke to Luis who put me in touch with Dennis the owner. He assured me that my piano would be taken care of and that shouldn't worry. Let me explain, i don't have a Steinway or a concert piano. i have a Schafer & Sons piano that is close to 30 years old. I am the original owner a have played my piano lovingly for all those years. The years had taken it's toll and then Dennis tuned it , polished it, cleaned it and brought it back to life. Do not use this company, If I had looked on Yelp first, I could have seen another review about price gouging. He quoted me one price for service, which was documented in our text conversation, then he tried to charge me $325 more for the job. He also lost our piano casters. So do yourself a favor and find a reputable company, Pianotech is not that company. read more
