Starting off as a South African owned and run restaurant Fish Hoek, it changed its name slightly a couple of years ago and in its new guise, has been garnering rave reviews from such diverse publications from the Michelin Guide to Time Out. As its name suggest, the restaurant and its chef Michael Nadra tend towards the sea for their primary ingredient though there are a couple of meat dishes on the menu for unconvertable carnivores. However, they would be missing out on some great combinations and precise cooking of seafood. Cooking influences range from France for an excellent full depth of flavour soupe de poisson to Japanese light tempura battered soft shell crab. You will find every class of seafood represented on the menu, from humble grilled sardines to no-expense-spared lobster with foie gras and black truffle potatoes. A great fish restaurant. It shows! Mo's has no signage out front but if you stand at Ealing Common tube station and look across the street you can't miss it. It's the brown wooden shopfront that's open to the air with lots of marble tables and big boxes of ice and fish (duh). Yesterday we went quite late in the day, about 2pm. They'd sold out of a lot of fish but still had a box each of sea bass, dorade, and salmon, plus some other bits of pieces. The gentleman running the shop turned out to be both knowledgeable and a good laugh. We were looking for something that we could barbeque easily: he suggested the sea bass. Whilst he was cleaning them - three large ones - he suggested how we should season them. I followed his directions precisely - it's so easy when it's a fish you can just throw straight on the bbq - and wowed the neighbours with some perfectly-grilled fish. It was excellent. The fish was about the same price per kilo as you'd pay at the grocery store. They're closed on Sundays and Mondays, because they don't get fish on the weekends and don't want to sell any fish more than a day old. A Japanese woman came in to browse while our fish were being cleaned, and she confirmed that she was a regular shop here, the fish being fresh enough that she's used it for sushi. She also told us that the smoked mackerel was excellent, not too salty like the big chains do. Excellent, friendly, helpful, local fishmonger for those in Ealing in Acton.

The size of the fries were perfect and they were nice and crispy while maintaining a soft pillowy interior. They were also well seasoned and didn't need any sauce. 30-day Tamworth Pork Double Loin Chop The pork chop is an interesting situation where it takes over 45 minutes to prepare due to the sheer thickness of the pork chop. After the wait, the pork chop just ends up being just alright. It's nicely cooked and served with some kind of jus. Ultimately this dish would've been eliminated on Culinary Class Wars because there was some sinew in the pork chop. Ginger Beer This ginger beer was the most expensive one I tried and it just ranks third out of 4 ginger beers. The flavor is more tame than I'd like.

When we called they said they would hold from closing if we were on our way. We all hopped in a uber quickly and they had a table ready for us when we arrived. Service was sweet and they helped us navigate the menu in search for vegetarian options. They never made is feel rushed. The food came quickly and everyone enjoyed it. I had cappellacci with spinach and mushrooms in a butter sauce. It was fantastic I tell you! The cappellacci was light and tender in a rich buttery sauce. I also tasted ravioli in a tomato cream sauce and it was great. I had some brandy in a sniffer that they warmed up for me. It was some of the best brandy I have had in a while. I loved my experience here at this family restaurant. It will always hold a special place in my heart and mind when it comes to London.

I had melt in your mouth gnocchi with a tomato cream sauce and smoked salmon. I took the first bite and did a very audible Oh. MY. GOD. This is SO GOOD! Food heaven. Service was interesting but we walked in at 430pm and I think we messed with his timing mojo or something, but he was super sweet. My friend had the grilled salmon which was perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. Portions were good for lunch and prices were appropriate. Icing on the cake, the coffee was really good. And in London that is a miracle on it's own.
