I enrolled my son at BridgePrep Academy on 137th Ave. in Kendall with high hopes, but our…read moreexperience was deeply disappointing. Within the first week, a young girl in my son's first-grade class began threatening him and our family, saying she would kill him, me, and his father. When I addressed this with the school, I was shocked to learn that the teacher was aware of these threats but failed to report them or take action. I brought the issue to the assistant principal multiple times--not once, not twice, but at least three times--with my husband to discuss the growing concerns. Unfortunately, we never saw any sense of urgency in how the school handled the situation. Even though this was a clear threat, the administration seemed more focused on minimizing the situation rather than ensuring my son's safety. Eventually, the girl was moved to another class, but not before my son endured additional stress and fear. Shortly after, my son began coming home with bruises, explaining that other students were hitting and bullying him. When I raised this with the school, they brought in the school officer and seemed more focused on my son defending himself than addressing the root issue: other kids initiating physical altercations. As a parent, I understand the need to give grace to children, but when violence and bullying are involved, disciplinary action must be taken swiftly to protect all students. The school's failure to discipline the aggressors adequately, or to assure us that such incidents wouldn't happen again, was deeply concerning. At a charter school, I also understand their inability to share the specifics of the actions they took with other children, but there was no transparency or reassurance that these behaviors were being addressed seriously. Honestly, my son is too young to be dealing with violence in a school environment, and BridgePrep Academy should be ashamed of their failure to create a safe space for their students. I feel strongly that steps could have been taken early on to prevent the escalation of these incidents, but the administration repeatedly dropped the ball. Since moving my son to Norma Butler, I've seen a remarkable difference. He is thriving, there have been no incidents of bullying or physical altercations, and the teachers are proactive and communicative. I wouldn't recommend BridgePrep Academy to anyone. If you're facing similar issues, don't hesitate to find a better option for your child--it's worth it.

The love, care, and personalized attention each child receives is truly special. Today, our child is fully prepared to start first grade, and our other two children continue at the school, happy and thriving. From the very beginning, it was clear this was more than just a school. It felt like a second home. What stood out most was the teachers. They didn't just teach our children, they truly loved them. You could feel it in the way they greeted them each morning, the patience they showed, and the care they took in understanding each child as an individual. As parents, there's nothing more reassuring than knowing your children are safe, seen, and deeply cared for when you're not there. The Montessori approach was thoughtful and nurturing, encouraging independence, curiosity, and confidence in a way that always felt age appropriate and respectful. We watched our children grow not just academically, but emotionally and socially, and we credit so much of that to the environment and people at Morningside. We will always be grateful for the years our family spent there. Morningside Montessori helped shape our children in the most loving and supportive way, and we couldn't recommend it more highly.

Unfortunately, the ownership and management are very disappointing and overshadow the positives. Activities get canceled (such as music) with no communication to parents. There is constant penny-pinching -- parents are repeatedly given long shopping lists (30+ items) for small things like napkins and supplies, even when bringing food. Costs go up every year, yet services and activities continue to be reduced. When concerns are raised, Ms. Meybis shows little interest in resolving them. Each complaint is met with the same reaction, and no real action is ever taken. It's frustrating to see tuition increase while the quality and offerings decrease year after year. Because of this, we ultimately chose to leave. I would strongly recommend parents look elsewhere -- Kinuvu on 22nd is a much better option.

And I told them multiple times he doesn't know how to use it you need to show and they said it's ok but no water bottles ever been touched by my son. Anyway, a week at this facility was more than enough to discharge my son because he got Covid! For the first time in 2 years! Me and my husband both are vaccinated because we take it very seriously! I'm currently pregnant with our second baby and couldn't even imagine the consequences If this Covid situation would happen to me! I had to isolate myself from my own child! The school don't check on babies! Parents doesn't care about there kids coughing they send them to school anyway! And guess what? No refund because all this school care about as money! Stay away please, STAY AWAY!

I am not sure about the other parents but my experience here was not great. I have a three year old…read morethat had been at the school since she was 9 months old. I felt it was a place for babies since that required less work as far as developmentally. Once my child got to an age where learning was to come into play, I felt it was less than par and I was constantly having to monitor her growth there which is exhausting when I have to mention things like letting my child run around with no clothes on because she used the bathroom instead of calling me to bring her a change of clothes. Or that she would leave there with her shoes on the wrong feet, meaning no one took the time to notice that she put her shoes on improperly when she is at a age when her feet are also developing and walking around in shoes that are not on right is detrimental to the growth of them. She has come home a few times with scratches from other kids, one time a bite, and even her eye got pocked so I had to bring her to urgent care, all incidents I was NEVER called about, I discovered them when she got home which tells me they are not being watched. I would spend the weekend potty training her and she would be there for two days and revert back to diapers because they were not taking the time to keep that up. It was only after I kept bringing it up and refused to bring diapers anymore that it finally started to change. And even at first they would send her home in diapers that were too small because again LAZY!!! The daycare owner or manager will actually talk about your business with other teachers and people who don't even work at the school! For instance, I had someone from my GYM ask me why Stephanie (the owner or manager not sure) was asking about my living situation and my sister. Yes, this actually happened. I never addressed it with her because that is apparently who she is but def kept it in mind. That is not only unprofessional, its immature and this lady runs a school my child goes to! She also is famous for deflecting any issues and making them someone elses fault. I.E. one time I went to pick up my child and her shoes were on wrong yet again and she actually said to me "well she put them on that way so...".. Really , thanks dumba$$ for the clarification, so should I sit and tell my three year old to watch how she puts on her shoes because it can impact the growth of her feet.. or tell the owner and teacher I pay hundreds of dollars a month to to look after the kids they watch!!?? That's a hard one... ahh NO its not.. its her fault!! My child's behavior slowly went from loving as a baby to frustrated and annoyed and defensive and protective every day she was there. Now at three, I can see that the environment there was not a pleasant one. Proof that I made the right choice in leaving is the fact that She has only been at a new school for two days and her whole attitude when she comes home is different now. Coincidence? I think not! I will never recommend this daycare to anyone ever. And if you have a child that you want to have a loving, caring, responsible, nurturing and educational experience, then don't take your kids here either! But, if you don't care and don't mind your kids spending most of the day watching movies and/or outside and eating junk food, then its the place for you! I loved one of the teachers there but she was unhappy too and ended up leaving so that was all she wrote!

Everyone at the school from the owners to the cafeteria staff and security guards genuinely love the children and all of the families. You can feel the difference when you are with them. The kids are so happy, the teachers are happy, the coaches are happy. Not that there is never a conflict but the kids are empowered to resolve their conflicts with consciousness and compassion for each other. I love the fact that everyone on the faculty knows every child's name (and usually something cool about them). Even the staff at a different campus will usually know all the siblings names no matter which campus they attend. I love the fact that my girls feel comfortable stopping anybody on the staff if they have an issue, a problem or even a suggestion. They know they will be heard and that their voices matter and that gives them the confidence to speak up. The kids have entrepreneurial classes and create pitch decks and have a shark-tank like presentation to parents to secure investors and then host their own marketplace where the run their own small businesses, many of them with innovative, self-made products. It's incredible!! I don't know if any school in the country that offers opportunities like this. The kids are blossoming into the most empowered versions of themselves while always considering their impact on the people and the world around them. Last year, this program started at 4th grade but the 3rd graders got so excited about it that this year the school included 3rd grade too and their businesses were amazing!! Now my 2nd grader who is too young for the program not only outsourced her sales skills to many of the businesses at the market place (and made great commissions!) but she also also decided to start her own business at home, wrote our her business plan, goals, did her research and made her own signage but she also went to the park and sold her crystals all by herself (I was just there supporting her) and made $73 on her first day. She is 8 and felt so proud of her hard work and dedication to her goals. I am one proud Mama And I haven't even mentioned the Regener8 farm where the school grows most of the food the children eat at school and the kids play a role in the planting and harvesting. They learn about nutrition and all the way to support the minds and bodies. Families can even purchase fruits and vegetables, eggs and honey for our homes. I could go on forever... My children and I are so happy I wish that every child could have this experience of being loved and supported as they grow

Everything seemed set. When I arrived in Miami in January, I contacted the school, and they requested that my daughter spend a full day there for observation and take a test. They also charged me a $200 fee for this process. After that day, they informed me that her enrollment would depend on the results of her interaction and test. At the end of the day, when I picked her up, they did not share the test results. Instead, they told me they would discuss internally and get back to us the following week. Over 10 days went by with no response, so I reached out again. Once more, they asked for more time, saying they needed to discuss further. This back-and-forth dragged on for over a month. During this time, my daughter stayed at home without schooling, waiting for a response. Finally, after constant follow-ups, they informed us that they would not accept her because her English was not strong enough and they lacked the resources to support her as a non-native speaker. I lost $200, wasted my time, and--worst of all--left my daughter without proper schooling for nearly two months. The school never called me in for a personal conversation, did not honor their promised timelines, and failed to communicate clearly. They also never shared the evaluation materials or results that supposedly led to their decision. If you're considering this school, I strongly recommend you look elsewhere. They are neither accessible nor empathetic, and their lack of professionalism caused my family unnecessary stress during an already challenging time.
