Over the years, i saw the quality of the school go down, especially with the new administration. They started packing the school with more than the legal limit of students. They were caught by the city of Pinecrest for having 100 students over the limit, destroying the "small classroom setting" they claim to cultivate. The student body has some bright minds but also many sub par and low quality students that have no interest in learning. They find ways and make classes for rich kids with low GPAs. Honestly i was nervous coming into the school but once i realized that the current students and staff are helpful and understanding which helped release a tad bit of stress on my part. Honestly this is a very outstanding high school. It provides many opportunities while you are in each grade level and even when your are out of school. The biggest thing that i love in this school is that your able to talk to all of the administration with no problem. Usually in most large/regular high schools you are not able to talk to the principal or assistant principal. But at Law Enforcement Officers Memorial High School the administration is able to see you and check up on you everyday. In normal times, the elementary school parents do mandatory volunteering so we're all invested not only with our children and financially, but also personally. The school is connected with a beautiful Presbyterian church. There's a sense of peace and good-will because of the atmosphere. Our Principal communicates well and often with parents. I was in brought to and from school by a private transportation service. I was always the first to get picked up, and the first to get dropped off. Every morning for those years, I was the kid made fun of all the time, or looked at as weird, called names exe. Traumatic tbh.. Over the years, especially the last year I was there. I grew a special love for this place, Beth, Piaza, Havrilla, Gentles, Sol, Sinclair (tho she was there for a short time, she sparked my love for writing and reading and photography. She looked like the small scientist woman in all black from the Incredibles, hair and all, glasses and all.) Rodriguez, Brauntuch (i forgot how to spell her last name, I feel terrible). Throughout my twenties, I visited often, give thanks, appreciation and gratitude. This school saved my life. life is still incredible difficult as an high functioning AuDHD person, i dont understand still a lot of things In social norms or cues. Communication with parents is basically nonexistent we're left in the dark about everything unless it's a last-minute demand or payment. Within the first week, a young girl in my son's first-grade class began threatening him and our family, saying she would kill him, me, and his father. When I addressed this with the school, I was shocked to learn that the teacher was aware of these threats but failed to report them or take action. I brought the issue to the assistant principal multiple times--not once, not twice, but at least three times--with my husband to discuss the growing concerns. Unfortunately, we never saw any sense of urgency in how the school handled the situation. Even though this was a clear threat, the administration seemed more focused on minimizing the situation rather than ensuring my son's safety. Eventually, the girl was moved to another class, but not before my son endured additional stress and fear. Shortly after, my son began coming home with bruises, explaining that other students were hitting and bullying him. When I raised this with the school, they brought in the school officer and seemed more focused on my son defending himself than addressing the root issue: other kids initiating physical altercations. As a parent, I understand the need to give grace to children, but when violence and bullying are involved, disciplinary action must be taken swiftly to protect all students. The school's failure to discipline the aggressors adequately, or to assure us that such incidents wouldn't happen again, was deeply concerning. At a charter school, I also understand their inability to share the specifics of the actions they took with other children, but there was no transparency or reassurance that these behaviors were being addressed seriously. Honestly, my son is too young to be dealing with violence in a school environment, and BridgePrep Academy should be ashamed of their failure to create a safe space for their students. I feel strongly that steps could have been taken early on to prevent the escalation of these incidents, but the administration repeatedly dropped the ball. Since moving my son to Norma Butler, I've seen a remarkable difference. He is thriving, there have been no incidents of bullying or physical altercations, and the teachers are proactive and communicative. I wouldn't recommend BridgePrep Academy to anyone. My brother chose this as the place for his daughter's 2nd Birthday, and it was a hit! Many places that have children's parties only focus on a particular age group leaving the others out. At recent birthday parties past, I have just had to sit with my baby and entertain him by myself while the rest of the children and their parents are able to participate in the party festivities and activities. At Jumping Jelly Beans this was not the case as there are toys and activities with an array of ages in mind. Even for my 8 mo. old. (According to the person at the desk, the beginning age is 6 months.) The main room is separated into 3 sections. There is a place for babies in the front where there are plenty of floor mats and floor toys for crawlers. My son was immediately drawn to a musical toy that was similar to one that we have at home. There is a plastic playhouse in the shape of a tree that has fun touch and feel activities on the outside, and a small slide for little ones going out, cars to ride or be pushed in around the facility, and a baby swing. There are several imagination stations equipped with dolls and toys for playing doctor or house. In the center there is a ball pit that is out in the open just in case you need to pull your little one out. There is a place for dancing and bubble blowing and some organized activities as well as another section that contains a big jungle gym for older children to climb on and slide down. There is a also a private room for food, beverages, and cake. The room is bright and airy and is able to be decorated with whatever your theme may be. It is furnished with tables and chairs specifically for children. There is also a sink in the room and tables to place drinks on and all of the food for your party. The room is kept up by Jumping Jelly Beans personnel, and is never overly messy or disorganized. At the end of the party, the staff cleaned everything up even folding posters.
