Honestly, I haven't had the opportunity to go to noodles and Company since I lived in Chicago. When…read moreI found out there was one close to home, I couldn't wait to give it a go. In addition to that, my husband, a Florida native, had never been before. I was excited to show him what I grew up eating and see how he felt about it too. We popped in mid afternoon prior to heading to the grocery store. Because let's be real, you can't go to the grocery store hungry so this was the right fix! The establishment was clean, and we are immediately welcomed by the staff, despite the long line ahead of us. It gave us time to look at the menu as it had changed a little bit since I remember. I ordered the rigatoni Rosa and my husband ordered the chipotle chicken cavatappi. We sat down at a table nearby with our number and very shortly later, we were greeted by the nicest staff member. The portions were big and the meal was cooked fresh. The Parmesan chicken was absolutely to die for. I tried my husband's and his was really good as well. They do have a rewards program which we didn't sign up for, but will in the future. Even later that night, my husband mentioned how much he liked it. Thanks so much for a great experience. We will be back!

If all had been hot out of the pan, I'm sure it would have been much better. Not sure what they were doing behind the counter! They took plenty of time to serve us! The rigatoni Rosa was good! They had a lot of takeout orders.

I've come here for my birthday. I already have plans for a visit when my family gets here in two weeks. Obviously, the food is phenomenal. I usually get Art's Famous Fried Chicken, which they say is Buttermilk-brined for 24 hours then and then flash fried. I have a severe shellfish allergy, and they're always very cautious. No matter who the server or floor manager is. Typically, it's served with creamy mashed potatoes, but I usually swap it out with Momma's Mac and Cheese. I've also had the Smothered Chicken, Bee Haven Fried Green Tomatoes, and the Skilled-fried Chicken Paillard, which is what most of the staff recommends as their favorite dish. And you always have to get a cheddar drop biscuit. That's a non-negotiable. This restaurant is very popular and often gets quite busy, so I recommend to make a reservation as soon as you're ready. But the busyness of the restaurant won't matter once you take a bite. The food is the ambiance and changes everything. Just trust me.

They treat you like you're an old time friend even if it's your first time there. The appetizers (deviled egg and hush puppies) were great. The fried chicken, which they're known for, was very disappointing. It was one of the driest fried chicken I've had in a while. The biscuit side was also very mid. Overall, I do recommend trying this place out, but skip their fried chicken (unless you just love chicken).

They were not able to serve soda because of a leak, but I had the Jasmine hot tea. It was VERY hot. But very good. We ordered the tofu steamed bun, the tofu curry, and the tofu noodle soup. Everything was delicious. The tofu was so tasty and crispy. The curry was a pinch spicier than I expected but perfect for a cold evening. A DeLand staple!

I was able to find parking just down the street, but there is not really a lot of parking in the downtown area of Deland, so be forewarned. The outside is quite unassuming, and as the place only takes up a single "slot" in the row of shops along the main street, it is quite narrow inside. Not a problem for me, as I was alone, so taking up a small table near the entry was not a problem. I was greeted when I walked in and told to sit anywhere, so the small table was perfect for me. Inside is decorated relatively sparsely, but it is appropriate. The menu is what you would expect in pretty much any pho house, if you have been to a few. I went for a standard beef and meatball pho and the summer rolls, as I do love a good summer roll. They of course came out first, and I started in on them as I read my book and waited for the pho to come out. Both dishes were quite good, and if I am in the area I will absolutely be returning. It is a good heartwarming food experience, and in the colder months it is a perfect way to warm up a bit.
