Staff is friendly and helpful but the store has such a lovely selection of items for your home or gifts

They have a lot of nice things for your house and gift giving. I ran into a lady that told me to check this store out. I went that day. It's kinda pricy. Some of the employees say hi. One asked if we needed help, otherwise they will leave you alone. Which is nice so you can walk around and look at everything. Their is a lot to look at! I give them a 1 star because the owner is a witch with a B. She has her nose stuck up in the air as if she is better than everyone else. I was talking to her, but she knew it all. I was actually trying to give her free help on her Yelp account. A lady behind the counter said the hours were wrong, so I was telling her how to fix it. She was so rude with letting me know how she felt about my free help. My sister and I looked at each other in shock. Some people are just rude and think they are goody two shoes. That's the last time we will step foot in that store. Most of the stuff they have we could get where my sister works anyway at a gift shop pharmacy. Save your time and don't stop in. I host a group as a volunteer from a nearby gated community. I had contacted the owner of this facility and asked if they would be willing to host a group of women to learn how to put together a decorative tabletop. Picket Fences went above and beyond in hosting our group of almost 30 women who showed up and gave us a private demonstration of different floral arrangements, table top arrangements, door drapes, and other fabulous decorative situations. I cannot say enough about how we were treated when we showed up three-fold from what they had originally expected! read more

I guess this store must be doing really well during Covid and doesn't want or need my business. Walked in, saw four different workers, not one person said hello. It wasn't till I made a comment on the cute Halloween decorations that someone even said anything to us. Really cute store, on the expensive side. Maybe it was me, a little too snobbish for my taste. I'd rather spend my money where it's appreciated. read more

Went on Wednesday the 7th, spent over $400 on Christmas items, the register that I checked out of had a return policy sign that said 48 hours for returns, seemed an odd time frame, but ok. I had about $100 worth of items that didn't work, so took them back on Friday the 9th to exchange for different colors, was told all sales after Dec. 1st were final! I pointed out the sign by the register that said 48 hours, was informed that didn't apply to holiday merchandise , I was exchanging items, not sale items, just simple exchange, and probably purchasing even more merchandise. I do not understand this policy and it should be stated in person that you could not exchange or return anything! Last money they will get from me, and a really foolish policy. read more

Wow... not a friendly employee to be seen. Then when I went to check out it was demanded of me to tap my phone and not insert my card. What? Really? She didn't demand that from the 2 people before me. I don't like to tap my card and it's an OPTION. The cashier was judging me period. This cashier also didn't ask me if I was part of their email list like she had asked the women in front of me. Listen your goods are all imported from China and not as high end enough to insult and judge your customers. I myself having a successful small goods store outside Chicago know that you don't treat customers in this manner . Get a clue and learn real customer service. And I will never step foot in your store again. read more

I thought I would have to drive to Houston for all my seasonal decor but alas I found Picket Fences. The selection and quality of items is amazing. Very high end but not stuffy. read more

I needed a couple of silk flower arrangements and this place nailed it. Jan, the designer was excellent, helpful and friendly. I will definitely be back! I will post the pics of the arrangements as soon as I pick them up. read more

I think this place is fantastic they have such great ideas, the people in the store are amazing they always help and are very accommodating, if they don't have what you're looking in the store they will order it for you. Also if you go there a few times they will remember you by name, which is rare in a store like that. read more

I love this store and all of the fun inventory they stock. The prices are reasonable and the store has a great layout. The only reason I am not giving them 4 stars is the staff. They consistently seem put off if you ask them to check stock on an item or ask them questions. They always seem to have multiple people working so I find it difficult to believe they are overworked. It is not the same friendly atmosphere as Maggie's or Zulees. I keep going back though because I love their stuff read more

I agree with the other reviewers regarding Picket Fences. The sales gal that tried to help me today was very sweet and the store is darling, it's just the management staff that have ruined a perfectly lovely store. They can't be bothered by clients who actually want to spend money and in my experience, they will never put the customer first. It's a shame. read more

I recently went into this store. The items are nice and priced well, but the staff is extremely unwelcoming and they all seemed to be too preoccupied to notice that I was there (even though they walked past me several times). I left the store without finding what I needed and I will not be back. There are too many other stores in the area with very friendly staff for me to tolerate being ignored. read more
