The owner came to my home, took measurements, created a 3D rendering, and once we finalized the design, I paid my deposit. Unfortunately, what should have been a straightforward laundry room cabinet installation turned into **more than five return visits, countless phone calls and text messages, and constant follow-up on my part just to get the job completed correctly.** On the first installation, the cabinets arrived in different sizes and depths, even though they were all supposed to match. After that was corrected, the second installation left me with three different shades of white between the cabinets, trim, and crown molding. Later visits uncovered additional issues, including unstable interior shelves that tipped over, an uneven countertop, and multiple cabinet doors that were crooked or improperly aligned. What frustrated me most was that these weren't issues the company identified--they were issues I had to point out. At every visit, the installers seemed ready to leave with the project considered complete until I showed them additional problems. I repeatedly called, texted, and sent photos over the course of weeks just to get someone from management to come inspect the work in person. Instead of taking my concerns seriously, I was told I was "high strung" and that smaller projects sometimes have issues. By the end of this project, I had completely lost confidence that anyone from Tru Custom would identify or correct problems unless I found them first and pushed for them to be addressed. I essentially became the project manager and quality control inspector for work I hired professionals to complete. To date, this project has required more than five visits to my home, and I am still waiting for two cabinet doors to be corrected. Despite the repeated installation mistakes and the inconvenience, Tru Custom Cabinets never offered a discount, refund, credit, or any meaningful gesture of goodwill. One of the installers even commented that they had "never had so many problems on one project." Unfortunately, I was the customer who had to experience every one of those problems. I understand that mistakes can happen on any project. What matters is how a company responds. Based on my experience, Tru Custom Cabinets failed to provide the level of workmanship, communication, and accountability I expected, and I cannot recommend them.

They were: a doorway that had pet damage and had been pulled up, and my upstairs catwalk hallway that needed some carpet bulges stretched out. Jairo was easy to get in touch with and arrived early for the repairs. He showed a lot of care in his work and he made sure I was satisfied with the repair before packing up for the day. Both carpet repaired areas look brand new now and match my other carpet areas again. I had put off getting this fix for years because I was worried about price but these fixes definitely had higher than expected value. I no longer have to step over carpet bulges and my door shuts better. I would definitely use JGS Carpet Installation's services again for repairs and if I need new carpet installed I'm calling them for the install.

I texted him in September as I had several things lined up that needed installed and repaired. It was a few days before he responded but he did and explained that he had been working on a big project. He came out on 9/20 to do the work. One of the projects was to remove a light fixture and install two mini pendant lights. These are two separate fixtures with chain links from the ceiling to the actual light encasing. This was the last project of the day and he did a great job of changing out my old light to this updated look. With one exception. He called me in to look at them and I noticed one was hanging shorter than the other. When I mentioned it he said "No, it's correct." I didn't want to be rude and go get a tape measure to ensure that it was correct (I will in the future). After he left I measured and it was 1/4" shorter. To some this might not seem like much but it is noticeable. When he was leaving he commented that my house could use quite a bit of work (he was tactful) and I agreed. I could tell he was soft selling me for future larger projects. That was fine as I would like to hire a small business to do the work when I'm ready. We discussed a few more projects for his next visit and he left. Fast forward to 10/19. I sent a text that the needed to fix the light and why. He responded and asked if the light fell. I reiterated that the light on the right was shorter. It's now 11/14. I have yet to hear back from him. I'm in sales, if I did something incorrectly I own it and do the best I can to fix the problem. Especially if I want future work and bigger projects. When you fail to even respond it is highly unprofessional. I will have to pay a different handyman to fix the issue now.
