I've been going to pickett for years. i started going to him before turning 18, wanting a more mature sensory. I was recommended by someone to go to him. He was amazing , i told him my history and everything about my medical experience and jaw birth defects etc. he was excited to work with me and i felt safe in his office. In early 2023 i got my teeth cleaned and talked about how a potential surgery was in the future and thats why i came in to get my teeth cleaned and prepped. he cleaned me up, i had my one hygienist i would go to and i loved her. Later that year i ended up having major surgery and didnt ending up coming back until february 2026 when i informed them i had the surgery. it was a big recovery and i had just gotten my braces off. i was there to get a deep clean and it went great. i told him again i had surgery and he said great! they found 4 cavities and said that was not bad for everything ive been through. i scheduled my appointment to get my teeth filled and appointment was good! march 2026, when i came to the office i asked if they could just do two out of the four due to anxiety because i already expected myself to not take it well. they said yes and they are gonna do the right side so i let them start and i was fine at first. i did have some anxiety and they know i have anxiety and the meds i take. when dr pickett came in and said hello it didn't even seem like he knew who i was. obviously he knew i was his patient but it seemed like he totally forgotten about my medical history on that side of my mouth. so i let them start and i didn't say anything the whole time i let them do there job and i was having some pain and making quiet noises to help the ease. the hygienist had that very fake tone of voice , high pitched and almost talking to a kid mind you. that was upsetting me. she would tell me after i have pain that i may feel pressure , at one point i was hyperventilating and she was telling me the more i struggle to breathe the harder this is for me. at this point they have shot me up 6 times with the numbing stuff. i cant feel my nose , to breath. i'm having an anxiety attack and they have no symptoms at all for me. they did not care , they just wanted to get me done with and move on to the next . my feelings did not feel validated at all and just kept shooting me up with medication. at one point doctor pickett said "stop making noises ur gonna scare my other patients and think im hurting you" , he was in fact hurting me , and stretching out my fresh two year old jaw that just got worked on and STILL HEALING. it's been 6 days and im hurting, in discomfort. sad that i couldn't feel comfortable in my own dentist that i've been going to for a long time , that i thought new my history and my problems. at the end they asked me to bite down on a piece of black paper to see my bite and i was numb and also my jaw doesn't move like normal jaws. she was telling me to weird moments w my teeth while being numbed up 6x and a TITANIUM JOINT IN MY JAW. yes maybe i had attitude bc i was in pain and in distress but there was absolutely no reason to decline practice towards me. i am very disappointed, sad , mourning my long time at the practice and knowing my history and supporting me through my journey to it my surgery that took forever to have. dr pickett and his hygienist that helped him that day just didn't care about my trauma and anxiety. there was no support and overall just rude comments. i ended up being silent for the rest of the appointment and even when i got up to the front and PAID my bill. didn't book my 2nd appointment. 6 days later im calling the office back to schedule my next appointment to get the other two teeth done. i say what i want done , they ask for my name and the lady over the phone went silent and put me on hold. 5 minutes she comes back and tells me ive been kicked from the practice. she had no reasoning , they said they sent a letter but it was so early still i haven't even gotten the letter yet. i couldn't even get a chance to tell them that i was still hurting. in discomfort. i asked why what was the reasoning and she told me he said that i would be better off going somewhere else. IVE BEEN GOING HERE FOR YEARS WHAT DO U MEAN!!!! i started crying and i just hung up. i'm in pain, have more anxiety than ever and i did absolutely nothing wrong for him to kick me. with no answers and having to retell myself to a new dentist and have the chance for this to happen again somewhere else . dr pickett im very disappointed and u had no reasoning to do that. obviously they dont know how to handle patients with dental anxiety and trauma. read more

I have trigeminal neuralgia so it is not easy to have my teeth cleaned They are so professional , friendly , and I couldn't be more pleased Unfortunately, they don't accept my new insurance I'm thinking about just going there and paying full price I don't want to go to anyone else ! read more

My husband has been in Dr. Pickett's practice for many years. I needed a new dentist for my children so I took my one of daughters in for a cleaning followed by some fillings. Dr. Pickett filled about six cavities over the course of two visits. Everything went well with no issues. Following the fillings, my daughter complained of pain. We called Dr. Pickett and they got us right in and adjusted her bite. Pain persisted so we went in two additional times. The last time we were in Dr. Pickett was absolutely certain this was the cause of her pain and that he had corrected it. He never mentioned any other potential causes or concerns. We also had her retainer remade with our orthodontist after she had fillings. However, unfortunately, she was still in pain that had not previously been there prior to Dr. Pickett's work. When my husband called the office and requested another appointment stating that she was still in pain, they would not see her. They told us we could go to a root canal specialist and sent a referral. Dr. Pickett did not attempt to further explore why my daughter was having pain other than adjusting the bite. He needs to take responsibility and care for his patients enough to get to the bottom of the issue. If you plan to have only routine dental work, that will never have complications, then I guess you could go here. But, he lost my business. read more

I have had my children with Dr. Pickett for a few years now, and have appreciated him and the staff. Unfortunately, I received a no show bill in the mail for 1/3, and called the office because I had not received a voicemail, text, or email as I normally do prior to appointments. The office staff says they left a voicemail on 12/31, but I'm not seeing it on my end. I searched my texts and emails to no avail as well. I'm normally good about putting events on my family calendar, but somehow missed this one. I would have needed to cancel regardless because my family' was sick with the flu, and I certainly would have canceled had I realized I had an appointment. Instead of working with me to dismiss the charge (I've never no-showed to an appointment previously), they were fine with losing me as a customer. Seems silly to me considering it's a $75 charge, but as a single mom financially struggling with 3 children, $75 is a lot. While I appreciate those who have cared for my children's dental needs and agree the work has been great, I'll be looking for a new dentist due to the unwillingness of the office staff to work with me. read more

I recently moved to the area and was looking for a local dentist. I received a recommendation for Pickett Family Dental from a friend. I am so glad I gave them a try. Very professional office. Everyone is extremely nice and makes you feel at ease. Jennifer cleaned my teeth and was great. Dr. Pickett fixed a broken crown and then pulled a tooth that was beyond repair. After the tooth was pulled Dr. Pickett called me the next day to check on me and see if I had any questions. I really appreciated that he cared enough to do that himself. My mom and I have been with Pickcett Family for about 2-3 years and they've been wonderful with each visit. Recently got my wisdom teeth removed, and it was done quickly in under an hour and the recovery process has been stellar. I have been going to this dental practice for over 10 years prior to Dr. Pickett purchasing the practice. Dr. Pickett seems to be more interested in upselling and additional procedures than the previous dentist. For example, I have a crown that was originally placed by the previous dentist, and usually lasts for about 1.5 years before the bond breaks and it has to be re-cemented. This happened in May 2022 and Dr. Pickett re-cemented the crown, it failed again in July 2022, less than two months after he cemented it. He has recommended several times to have a new crown made for 1000's. The bonding failed less that two months after he re-cemented the crown and he wants to charge me $200 again for something that was obviously done incorrectly. I guess he doesn't stand behind his work. I will be finding a new dentist. read more

I've been going to Pickett Family Dental for a couple of years now. I initially started going simply because I needed a new dentist. I knew one of the hygienists, Joanie. Which, btw, she's meticulous with her cleanings. I highly recommend asking for her. She's amazing! Dr. Pickett is a perfectionist. The work he has done for me is immaculate. He has also called to follow up and make certain everything is going well from the appointment. I couldn't be happier! I'm so grateful to have found them. I have been a patient since Dr. Phillips opened the office. Dr. Oser bought it and then came Dr. Pickett. I had to have 2 crowns due to cracked teeth in November. Dr. Pickett isn't in his office due to rebuilding from flooding. He has a couple of rooms in another dentist office. The scheduling is unpredictable since they are focusing on emergency patients and the admin. office is 5 miles away according to Dr. Pickett. After the temps were off and new ones in, my teeth hurt due to one of the temps being hard to remove. They decided not to do the bite guard impression that day but wait until the next cleaning which happened to be the next week. When I arrived I was greeted with the usual, "Didn't you get our message?" They say they call and try to leave messages but my voice mailbox is not set up. On all three phones? Nope, not acceptable and untrue. Then I am told they send a text via an app and Dr. Pickett said he doesn't know if the text goes through. Hmmm well then call me???? We did and you didn't respond. Because I never spoke to anyone or received a message. I never received a phone call according to my log on my cell phone, my home phone, or my work phone. On December 10th I was told I could not have a cleaning at the same time as a bite guard impression but the week before, Dec. 3rd, I was told I could since I had the appointment already scheduled. After questioning the office manager (?) on the 10th, I was told the reason is they are booked. Finally some truth. However, I made the appointment for my cleanings a year in advance. The person sitting in the chair getting his teeth cleaned didn't even know the dentist's name when checking in. I asked if there was an opening anytime in December. Nope! I booked a year in advance! There sits a newer patient getting his teeth cleaned. So I have gotten one cleaning this year when I should have 2. Due to the "misinformation" I told them I didn't trust them to make my bite guard and wanted a refund of what I prepaid. The person helping them said she would and I should receive it within 5 days. Dr. Pickett was beyond angry and said he would personally see to the refund. Dr. Pickett is a young man who bought a thriving business and had a bit of bad luck. But, there is no excuse for the lack of professionalism shown through this debacle. So now I have a chipped crown, after a week, no cleaning, and am looking for a new dentist. I won't even go into the inappropriate, unprofessional things that were said to me by the dentist. They were not a personal attack but nevertheless inappropriate. But, I will say this, when I said I was posting a review he told me not to blackmail him and he would call his attorney. I wanted nothing from him by that point, just a refund on what I paid for my bite guard. I thought I have freedom of speech and can post a review, positive or negative, but apparently Dr. Pickett doesn't believe in free speech, and just believes in being unprofessional towards his clients. It's a shame really because as a young dentist he does show some promise in attaining a reputation for decent work. However, with what is happening to a once thriving practice this may not happen. I hope he can build up the practice and achieve the success he desires. I will not be one of his clients nor can I recommend him based on my experiences the last few months. read more

I have been a patient of Dr Oser for over 15 years. Pickett bought his business and is in the process of destroying it. I made an appointment to have my teeth cleaned. I was presented with an iPad to "register" as a new patient - it was like reading a law book. Pickett wanted to be absolved of all liability in doing any procedures. After 15 minutes of pure frustration using an iPad that was faulty, I was handed a ream of paper to complete prior to actually seeing a dental assistant to clean my teeth. I left the office without completing the paper work and stated that I did not want to do business with Pickett Family Dental. They sent me a bill for $150.00!!! Then they placed the bill as a collection on my credit report!!!!! BEWARE OF THIS DENTAL PRACTICE - if this is what he does before someone actually becomes a patient - just imagine what he will do when you are a patient!!!! How can you charge someone when you have not performed the service? It makes me wonder if he is already fiscally challenged in running his business. Does he really need to place a collection on someone's credit report for $153.00 to keep his doors open and pay his staff????? Think twice before making an appointment. read more
