We started out with the chowder crawl which was right up my ally. $10 per person and there was about 8 or so restaurants go to for our chowder. The very first one we stopped at though was Tommys and low and behold they didn't have any ready yet. Oh well. We finished the run around town and marked down our winners and handed it in. Next was the doggy parade and that was when things really just became nuts. There was no instruction for the parade participants and everyone was just kind of wandering the streets. Then when we finished the constables were SCREAMING at us to get out of the street. Could have been done a little nicer! There was wine tasting, whiskey tasting and cheese tasting plus complimentary marshmallow roasting but I was just so done with all the idiots walking in the street and bumping into me and my dogs so we left. Not to mention directly next to the marshmallows were a bunch of tightly caged in farm animals :( the smoke from the fire was going right onto them!! Thats not right in my opinion. Next year hopefully it will be better organized and no farm animals please!

This festival is geared toward kids and family fun! Pictures with Santa, roasting marshmallows, and ice skating. The Village Center was the site for the "Festival of Trees". Local business themed Christmas trees all decorated for the season. Vendors of all kinds set up their wares here as well as in various locations throughout the village. The highlight of the event are the performers who are dressed up in 19th century Victorian era costumes. Some are stationed at various points, giving out directions. Others are meandering around the village spreading Christmas cheer, "Happy Christmas to you both!" Many stop to talk to and take pictures with the children and their families. We heard they parade down Main Street and stop at the lighting of the Christmas tree. Both activities which I missed...no doubt buying something from a vendor! The weather was unusually balmy for December. It did not take away at all from the cheery Christmas feel. I wish I had known about this event when my children were younger, I definitely would have visited with them. Truth be told, Christmas is my favorite holiday! I had a wonderful time... The town allowed a roaring fire on Main St and provided sticks for the kids to roast marshmallows. This was my little town and we looked forward to this weekend. From the horse drawn carriages coming down Main St into port, it truly was an entertaining experience. Fast forward to 2019. From Newsday to News12 all saying come to Port Jefferson and experience the Dickens festival! Really? Over the years, I have seen people getting dressed like the characters?! On Saturday I run errands. I like to come into Port Jefferson and grab a specialty coffee at Starbucks. Starbucks during this weekend is slammed with tweens and parents drinking frappachinos. Parking? Forget about it, every spot is taken. Port Jefferson is a mad house with people trying to get a free marshmallow..... And why do you folks feel the need to get dressed like a Chimmey Sweep?? Dudes... really?? I'm knocking off a star. What was once nice memories are now dread when I get my coffee and dry cleaning. Nothing to see here folks, go to Sayville...

It never felt crowded even though there were a ton of people inside. I loved that they had bands playing in front of the brewing tanks. Great South Bay hosted a fantastic festival and I look forward to going to the next one. My only gripe was the bathroom situation which was abysmal.

The Street Fair that brings out the largest crowd and even more vendors is the 25th Annual Farmingdale Fall Street Fair same location(Main Street) on October 12th & 13th this yr(2013).

I've always been skeptical with the response and the quality of this event due to feedback I've received in the past, but I was happy to be a part of it. My favorites were what Alexis had recommended, the caramel fudge from Chocology as well as the Grilled cheese from Cest Cheese. Nicely done guys!!! It was great to see such a fantastic display of wines which were partnered with Rich Mora from Mora's wines - most of the wines were very heavily distributed wines IMO, but there were some gems for folks to enjoy. It was especially nice to see some NoFo wineries being represented as well, Raphael, as an example, who's latest Cab Franc ('13?) was quite nice while walking around. Immediately upon entering I was greeted with the hypnotic smell of buffalo wings. The nutty Irishman converted the interior of their bar/restaurant into a chicken wing convention center. Two floors plus an outside patio area dedicated to the two of life's greatest party foods, wings and beers. I decided to walk through the entirety of the venue before starting my wing enjoyment. So many different places offering so many different and distinctive and delicious chicken wings. Everything from your traditional buffalo wing to A chicken wing with a chocolate raspberry sauce. For the most part, all of the wings were unique and delicious however there could be only one winner. My favorite was the traditional Buffalo style wing made by Tony. Delicious in all of its simplicity the wing it's self was plump and perfectly cooked with just enough buffalo sauce on it as not to mask the flavor of the wing. This was an excellent and well planned event and I look forward to returning to it next year.!

Unfortunately, he has gotten so popular we couldn't afford the tickets, so I'm glad we saw him here. This venue really is great, and since my last review we learned where the best seating is for comedy shows. We saw Jim Breuer for the second time here and had the best time ever! A friend got us on the list for the founders room which we went into before the show. This place is awesome! It's a really cool speak-easy with hidden rooms and unique antiques. The staff was really friendly both in here and inside the venue itself. There was a mix-up on our part about the meet and greet, but they took care of it for us and made it happen. It's unusual for such a large venue to have such great personal service, but that is how they treat everyone. The staff seems to have a really great time working there, meeting the audience, and enjoying the show along with us. This is one of our favorite venues on Long Island. Looking forward to going back for more great shows!

My friends and I had mezzanine seats which included waitstaff service, a nice feature. The sound quality was great and the theater is small enough that you have a good view even from an upper level. It was a pleasant experience, and I would attend a future show at this theater.

The screen was well. There was amazing event had a little bit of popcorn. I messed up because I got the small if I would've paid a dollar extra would've got a large. I'm mad because they didn't tell us that and it was too late after but I need that much popcorn anyway.
