We were there kinda early and the progressive democrats were meeting in the next room. I realy enjoyed talking to these folks as they came out of there meeting and socialized for a bit. The bar tender let us order food from the mexican place down the street so we had food and drinks and great company. This is my kind of bar! And the old fashioned was perfect. Then we shared the half liver and half gizzards appetizer, the four piece meal with potato salad & slaw. The liver and gizzards were very crispy that lacked in flavor. My drumstick was very juicy and flavorful wasn't a fan of the slaw, but really liked the potato salad due to its onions and sour sauce. I feel like that this is definitely one of the better chicken places in Pittsburg compared to their competitors.

Brother-in-law had the burger with the mac and cheese with the mac and cheese on the side; he absolutely raved about the mac and cheese. The green beans were fabulous, although I would have enjoyed dipping them in a spicier ranch than regular ranch, although it was very good ranch. We all ordered the french fries and onion rings with our dishes. All of us agreed both the rings and the fries were on the greasy side. I think the greasiness of the fries is what gave my stomach some issues later. The bartender who took care of me paying the bill was very nice. Big, welcoming, friendly smile; pleasant attitude and communication. The service industry needs more people like this guy. Would definitely try this place again to try something else on their vast menu. As far as the bar, the place has been packed every time we visit. People are lined up around the bar 5 - 6 deep and the bar staff are slammin. Drink specials are pretty alright - always a good deal on shots or special drinks. Cherry limeades seem pretty popular but that's not for me. There's a strong pour and a lot of energy going into making sure everyone has a good time. On our last visit, my daughter (college mom here) ordered a rum and coke. The bar tender added a lime and she looked at him in horror. She's allergic to limes. Even with a gazillion people waiting, he caught her look and without prompting immediately made her a new drink with no lime. He gifted the rum and coke with lime to my husband and off we went, but not before making sure to thank him on the gratuity line. He didn't have to do that and the fact he did it without an exchange of words and while navigating a big crowd - well, it was beyond expectation. Appreciate the service, the drinks, the opportunity to spend time with our college kiddos in a space they feel safe and comfortable.
