I thought he was just joking around, talking to my dog that was in the seat next to me. He said that I had an open container in my car. I had been moving and the can was trash that I had picked off of the floor of the car from a swim bag. I had forgotten to throw away the can. So I said okay, I threw away the can in the dumpster plus some other trash I had and went inside. I told him I had the trash away and he still said he couldn't serve me. I am a 44 year old woman. I am a local resident of Carbondale and have been my whole life. I have been a customer at your liquor store for a long period of time. I am really shocked how I was treated. Especially since I was completely sober. I don't understand why? Did the drive thru attendant/manager think I had a cork screw in my purse to open the wine I wanted and drink it right there out of the bottle while I was driving with my 3 dogs in the car with me. Absolutely ridiculous! I will call tomorrow and speak to the manager Ray or the owners but I will not let this go.

These are $35-40 and $55-60 bottles, respectively. The owner gives me some sheepish grin, a shrug, and a "these are allocated products" line. Yeah, for you and for every other store in town. For every store in Kentucky, for that matter. Now, I'm sure they sit behind the shelf collecting dust for quite a while, but occasionally some college-aged kid or newbie comes in, sees Blanton's, recalls that it's a "hard to find" product and pays that price, thinking that's how the market works. This place is a shame, and if Carbondale's economy is dying off, let's just say that it wouldn't be anyone's loss if this place closed down first.
