Everything is very clean and well organized. A cooler with plenty of singles, and six packs. Then there are a few rows of more singles and more six packs on the shelf. Selection is on par with anything in the state outside Binny's and anything in Chicago. It puts any of the crappy beer/liquor stores in Carbondale to shame. Jolly Pumpkin, everything from Founders and Bell's, some rarer items from Mikeller, Black Xantus. I could name much of the selection, but it does not really matter. You will find something, and most everything that has distribution in the area can be found here. Maybe not the drop dead selection that can be found in Chicago, but really good none the less. Plenty of wine and whiskey as well. Service is top notch and friendly. They know their stuff, and are happy to strike up a conversation. They will help you carry everything to the car, and informed me this week (the last week in December) is %20 off all craft brews. For my bill that was over $25. Prices without the discount are just a tad high, but not bad at all, or maybe that is just the difference between prices in Southern Illinois and Champaign? This is a regular stop of mine when I drive back and forth from Houston to Illinois on occasion. An all around very nice store.

I thought he was just joking around, talking to my dog that was in the seat next to me. He said that I had an open container in my car. I had been moving and the can was trash that I had picked off of the floor of the car from a swim bag. I had forgotten to throw away the can. So I said okay, I threw away the can in the dumpster plus some other trash I had and went inside. I told him I had the trash away and he still said he couldn't serve me. I am a 44 year old woman. I am a local resident of Carbondale and have been my whole life. I have been a customer at your liquor store for a long period of time. I am really shocked how I was treated. Especially since I was completely sober. I don't understand why? Did the drive thru attendant/manager think I had a cork screw in my purse to open the wine I wanted and drink it right there out of the bottle while I was driving with my 3 dogs in the car with me. Absolutely ridiculous! I will call tomorrow and speak to the manager Ray or the owners but I will not let this go.

The liquor store is actually very nice and it features a great selection of adult beverages. Inside, this place feels very upscale and I do enjoy it at the shelves are actually low. The co-op a few stores down may have alcohol beverages but coming here the prices here are actually better and the selection is much larger. Great selection of hard ciders featured here as well.
