What a great little spot tucked away on a small street. Pico's provided us with a nice break from pasta and wine. The shrimp tacos were excellent, and the margaritas were fresh and made from scratch. Seriously, whoever thought of opening this business was a genius! Having a little Mexican restaurant in one of the taste capitals of the world was exactly what Rome needed. It was so good too! So good! My husband ordered the cochinita tacos, we split a shrimp tostada and the barbecoa quesadilla. I also ordered a Margarita and my husband ordered a large beer. My Margarita came to the table on time, but my husband's beer took a while longer. They said it was because a keg tapped out, but even if that was the case, they still should have brought it to the table because we watched it sit there for a hot minute at the bar. Other than that little mishap, we enjoyed our experience there. It was nice to have dinner there over some good Mexican food. It was nice to change up the scene and cuisine from Italian food, at least this once. Believe me, we got more delicious Italian food again eventually! read more

The food we tried had a very authentic flavor and very good quality. I had the Carnitas taco which had chopped onions and cilantro. It was a healthy portion of meat for the two soft tacos. My wife ordered the Al Pastore tacos, which actually taste a little better with a very good, sharp almost fruity flavor. Since we eat a lot of Mexican food back in California, this does measure up. We also ordered the guacamole and chips. unfortunately the guacamole had a little too much salt, especially since the chips were seasoned with salt. I like the small chips and they were thick and tasty. Forgot to mention that the meat on my Carnitas was also salty, but flavorful. Lastly, we both got spicy margaritas. very nice and cold poured over crushed ice. Very refreshing for this warm day in Rome. Almost forgot that we ordered some red salsa as well. Not a very large portion since you pay an extra two or three euros for this, but it was hot and tasty. as for the ambience, I loved it. Very bright colors and festive. Open air feeling as if you are in Mexico. Prices may be a little high for what you're getting though. read more

Was a 15 minute casual walk from our apartment across the river in the Trastevere neighborhood. Was busy with a young casual crowd. Able to get table for 5 within 5 minutes of walking up on Sunday night around 9pm. Straight forward menu. Tacos, burritos, bowls, quesadillas, and tortas. Various meats all satisfactorily cooked for an American palate. Chips, guacamole and salsa good The food was good. The environment was good. The prices reasonable. The service OK. I am from Denver and have eaten tacos in México. This is excellent food. Way beyond expectations. Lost a star because there is NO TOILET SEAT. Started with chips & salsa. Bam! The salsa is muy picante. I love spicy hot. Tracie started hiccuping. Too funny. Tacos. Street tacos with lots of meat. Be prepared to have your teeth chipped from the hard tortilla chips. I cant even be dramatic about this. The service is horrible. We waited for 20 min just to be asked if we had been helped and it was not busy at all. The waitress did not speak good English so she took our order and brought random food and insisted we were the ones that ordered it. After we pointed to the pictures of the food from the menu that we wanted. She brought that food AND more food she insisted we ordered after we told her it wasn't our food. The manager came and immediately said we were at fault and because we wanted to just leave we paid for the food without receiving any of that wrong food. I'm picky when it comes to Mexican food and this is absolutely authentic and the best Mexican food I've ever had PERIOD!! Needless to say we loved it so much - we ate there 2 times on our visit to Rome and even did take away another night. Collectively from the menu we had the Torta de Carne Asada, Torta de Al Pastor, Quesadilla de Carne Asada, Carna Asada Tacos, Carnitas Tacos, Chips with Salsa and Guacamole. The Carne Asada and Carnitas were tender, juicy, with all the right seasonings. The tortillas which are made in house are authentic and delicious. My favorite was the Al Pastor Torta- so yum! honestly- go eat it! It will knock your socks off. Oh the margaritas - both the Lime & Strawberry AMAZING! Even had the tajin rim! The price is reasonable too!! The staff were all so friendly and welcoming and joyful. The restaurant itself is super cute and eclectic inside, playing Spanish Mexican music. Ahh it made me feel at home. Quick note: if you go before 6pm, a reservation is not needed. But in the evening it does get busy and a reservation is recommended. We ordered our meal to-go through a delivery service. We LOVED the pescado & carnitas tacos--very flavorful & cooked perfectly. The al pastor tacos were good too, but the pineapple was super dry, maybe if they were more char-grilled or juicy. The barbacoa tacos were our least favorite taco we ordered only because it was dry & the least flavorful of them all, but that's how most barbacoa tacos are. The only thing that was super disappointing was nachos. It was all just a bunch of separate, plain ingredients slapped into a container for 7eur. I know, I know, it's Mexican food in arguably the tastiest capital in the world, but believe me, forget pasta or pizza for one night and come try this place. Fantastically nice food in a quaint atmosphere. Judging by how many delivery drivers came in for orders, I'm not the only one that thinks highly of the place. The buffalo wings were delicious (and nostalgic for an American living overseas), the tacos addicting, and this place scratched all the right itches. I came to this restaurant today, really nice setup of mexico. I am originally from mexico and seeing the entrance made me feel at home. I ordered a burrito and a strawberry margarita, both of them were not good at all. The burrito had no type of meat at all, as you can see in the pic. It was full of rice and i had asked for salsa which surprisingly i was charged for the salsa which was actually good but felt like i ate a burrito with rice and green sauce with a margarita with no flavor and ice.
