    Vegan Metronia sandwich
    Matt B.

We stopped in for a sandwich upon opening (11am), as we saw they had 3 vegan sandwiches. We each got the Vegan Metronia (€9.50 each, +1€ if you sit in), which come on a choice of brown or white bread. Staff are very friendly and make it clear you can customize your sandwich if you want. The sandwiches came out within 10 minutes and were massive. Really nice bread, plenty of rocket, good vegan cheese and salami, grilled zucchini, and artichoke cream to top it off. Really satisfying and fulfilling sandwich. Located a block or two from the Vatican and open late (3am), what's there not to love about this place? Highly recommended.

Walked a good 10 minutes just so we could get sandwiches from here because I had heard good things and it totally lived up to its expectations! Quite a lot of menu options and a really reasonable price for everything as well. And the best part is that those sandwiches are huge! They also add a good amount of olive oil on top of the toppings before closing the sandwich and also some salt. Not sure how, but it all really works well together! Love how they actually toast the sandwiches so the cheese gets all melty. Dad got the Grillo - I believe he thought it would be a grilled sandwich which is why he got it but it was actually bigger and potatoes and something else in there but he said it was actually quite nice. I believe he thought it would be a grilled sandwich which is why he got it but it was actually bacon and potatoes and something else in there. He did say it was actually quite nice. I believe the potatoes were boiled or something in there but I'm not sure. Custom Turkey+Zucchini+Brie+Rocket - asked for no olive oil on mine and it was still really good. Quite a neutral flavor overall and nice on its own but I was looking for something a little spicy for this meal and I added some hot sauce and it was perfect! Piela - My brother only got this one because he saw someone else before us order it and it looked like a very beautiful loaded sandwich with a lot going on. He was not wrong. A lot of ingredients in there that they all went so so well together! A VERY premium quality ham was used and it leveled up the sandwich quite a lot. Those zucchini flowers were really un a nice touch. I don't remember what husband ordered but from the fact that he actually finished the entire sandwich I take it he really liked it. Over the entire 10-day trip we had in Italy, this sandwich was his favorite!

Duecento was recommended to us by the concierge at our hotel, and it became one of my favorite restaurants of all time in the Vatican area. Service was fantastic. Each one of their waiters and waitresses are friendly. They enjoy getting to know us and are such characters. The vibe of their outdoor seating was so relaxing. I sat outside for hours, eating my sandwich and sipping on both my cappuccino and coke. For food, I got their prosciutto (most popular and had truffles) and two variations of their salami (each had different pickled vegetables--very tasty). For beverage, I got their cappuccino, which was equivalent to that of Death Star of sorts (heavy with caffeine--must be an Italian thing!). Overall, Duecento did not disappoint. I encourage others to dine at their establishment as they are welcoming and offer delicious meals!

Absolutely delicious sandwich and salad! Food tasted fresh. Service was fast. Prices were reasonable. I would go back.

    Tuna salad. Delicious!

We did not intend to stop here for a meal, but we did. We shared a tuna salad and a sandwich. Perfect! We were famished after our Vatican Museum tour. The tuna salad was simple. You are given olive oil and balsamic vinegar to dress up the salad. The tuna, though! So tasty. We selected the paradiso sandwich. That bread! So crusty and chewy! The service friendly and efficient. Close to the Vatican Museum. Stop by before or after your visit. Enjoy!

Absolutely phenomenal- my wife and I shared the truffle Parma and the porchetta with peppers - Good God! They were both fantastic - literally wanted to kiss the chef. Great stop after your morning at the Vatican - EAT Here!

Look at this! That's the Mancini with added rocket, artichoke hearts and raddicio. Deliciousness.

Ok- we've been back 4 times, maybe 5. I'm thinking we should just eat all our meals here. After our first adventure, eating at a table, we started taking food out- to savor at our bed and breakfast. I've had the Cenci (sp?) Duck and fennel and pumpkin, oh my! And it was GOOD, the Gesu- octopus (Delicious), The Guadalupe (prosciutto, smoked cheese and rocket), the St Iganzio- pork and other deliciousness- and other sandwiches whose names I cannot remember (one night stand sandwiches, as it were). Everything has been outstanding. And it's definitely a great deal. They'll do take out in a bag if you ASK for a bag- otherwise they wrap it up with an end exposed. But just ask them to bag it, and they will- they are so helpful and kind. There is a little basket for your old ticket number (when you order, they give you a receipt and a stub with a number- if you don't speak Italian, hold up your number when you think your order is up and they will identify you.) They've got a nice selection of beers- which I'm working through, and non alcholic drinks as well. This is just a great place. I'm going to try as many sandwiches as I can while I am in Rome- there's one with Escarole and capers and 2 kinds of ham that I've got my eye on for my next sandwich- I think it was called the Paradiso- sounds like paradise doesn't it? If you sit, you pay a different price- I think it's 1 euro more per sandwich. One night (for take out) our TWO sandwiches, which totally filled us up, only cost 11 euro! And it was fabulous- which is a lot more than I can say for some of the restaurants we've been to at 3X the price. Go here. Have lots of delicious food and thank your lucky stars you're not eating crappy pasta.

Great sandwich shop near the Vatican! Came after a morning tour for a quick lunch. Staff were very friendly and offered suggestions. We ended up sharing the pigneto and the collette (sp?). Both were food though not super generous with the toppings. I think it's about one layer of meat-think the opposite of Katz's in NYC. Nevertheless, the bread and ingredients were very fresh and the price was very reasonable for the portion size.

Too good! One of the best sandwiches that I've ever had! I definitely recommend if you're close to Vatican City!

Came here before visiting the Vatican and Sistine Chapel. What a cute little restaurant with excellent service. We were seated 5 minutes after we arrived, we ordered immediately and our food came out promptly. Everything was fresh and delicious. The service was stellar. I would definitely visit this restaurant again the next time we visit.

Great panini! After touring the Vatican and Basilica di San Pietro, we were quite hungry. Took out my Yelp app and it pointed me to Decent Gradi. Our tour guide also said that this place was legit. Employees are friendly and quick. The back of the restaurant has seats and servers. There is also outdoor seating with full service. The front of the restaurant is more of a grab and go type feel. There is a counter and you can enjoy your panini standing up without a server. Restrooms are in the back downstairs. The ingredients they use for their panini's are fresh and of good quality. The serving size is huge! We could have bought one and easily shared it. The bread was fresh, toasty on the outside and soft within. It all came together beautifully, with good flavor and spot on consistency. The price wasn't bad either, especially for the size of the panini. They have a variety of drinks too.

Vegan Metronia (Best of all of the sandwiches): Vegan salami, cooked cicory with oil, garlic and chilli, 200° spicy sauce (homemade)

Great panini shop with lots of vegan options including vegan salami and vegan cheese. We've had 3 different sandwiches there and the Vegan Metronia one is the best!!!: Vegan Metronia (Best of all of the sandwiches): Vegan salami, cooked cicory with oil, garlic and chilli, 200° spicy sauce (homemade) and in Italian: Salame vegano, cicoria ripassata con aglio, olio e peperoncino, salsa piccante 200° (fatta in casa) Vegan Industria (the broccoli cream is excellent): Vegan salami, vegetable cheese, broccoli cream and in Italian: Salame vegetale, formaggio vegetale, crema di broccoli Vegan Campo Dei Fiori (it's pretty good): Vegetable salami, vegetable cheese, grilled eggplants, rocket salad, tabasco and in Italian: Salame vegetale, formaggio vegetale, melanzane grigliate They are pretty fast and the place is clean. I'm tall and the bathroom is downstairs and I had to duck down more than any other bathroom I've ever been too. Kinda cool though!

If you're craving an amazing panini, stop by after visiting Vatican City like I did; it's right outside the city walls. They have every type of panini possible; guaranteed quality meat, seafood, and even vegan options! They offer table service for €1 more per sandwich (€6 total). There weren't many tables, but we managed to get one after waiting a few minutes. Also, the paninis are HUGE with deliciously warm, crunchy bread. I asked the server which panini she recommended, and she named the risorgimento - it was awesome. It's base is salami and smoked cheese with spicy sauce, sun-dried tomatoes, and olive spread. I am blanking on the name of the panini my boyfriend ordered, but he loved it as I bet anyone else would with any selection on the menu! Definitely worth a try if you are in the area.

If you had to go to only one McDonald's in Rome, you definitely need to come to this location! Just like any McDonald's in Rome, they're all very easy to find as they had signs throughout the city directing you to the closest one. This place is just south of the Spagna Metro station, very close to the Spanish Steps and embassy. The design of this location was very unique. It was very modern with a little bit of ancient Rome. Ordering was very easy while using one of the kiosks. It was very spacious with plenty of seating. The service was quick, the food was good, and the dining area was kept clean.
