Yum! This quirky little spot delivers the goods! Pulling into the parking lot, it feels like this place used to be a gas station. Walking in, the room feels funky in a good way. Small but has several seating areas. We sat down and ordered with the server. She was efficient with a no nonsense attitude. The chips were so light and crisp. The salsa was fresh and tasty. It wasn't too hot and was easy to eat. The guacamole was just as delicious. Our tacos were sooo good. My sisters loved their fluffy tacos that were crunchy. Picos is my favorite taco spot in Racine! They use high quality meat. The steak tacos are always full of juicy steak that doesn't have fatty pieces like other mexican restaurants. Their quesabirria tacos are so delicious and addicting. The esquites (mexican corn in a cup) is soooo good too and great that they have it on the menu. Come on tuesdays and get their taco tuesday special. I personally like the carry-out taco tuesday special with 10 tacos, rice and beans and an extra side item. Also, their beans are so flavorful compared to other places around. I actually like eating them. Usually I just leave my beans. The only down side is that they are NOT open late. read more

Fluffy tacos were beef and chicken..the beef had crusty dried out pieces that made it taste like it had been on the heat all day! Im sorry but yuk! I really tried to like this place and try it one more time because its soo convienent to my house! But unfortunately..my daughter and i both agreed we wont be back. Great tacos... Always get the Taco Tuesday deal. Love the rice and beans. Usually get the shredded beef or ground beef. Get a mix of flour tacos and hard. Kitchen B Most of the food was a solid "good" (though not excellent), with a few exceptions. Carne Asada The meat was well done, though the seasoning wasn't the best I've had. I asked for the rice and beans to be subbed with something more keto friendly - thankfully they had super fresh lettuce and tomatoes, and added a few more slices of avocados to the dish. In conjunction with salsa, this proved to be a pretty great salad! The one grilled jalapeño that came with the dish was under grilled, and crunchy, rather than soft. It was interesting that it was so crunchy (aka fresh?) because inside, it was black. I mean all the seeds were black. Like what happens to old jalapeños. I just didn't eat it after the first bite. Fluffy Tacos What do you except from the name? Not what we got. What we got was more like a deep fried tortilla (like nacho chips) and rock hard chicken (seriously! watch the video). That said, the kitchen did fix it. One of us was a courageous rock star and took the plate back to the kitchen and told them the problem, and they prepared it again. The second time around, they came out much better. Soft but fluffy with a slight crunch, and chicken that isn't rock hard. Side tacos The tacos are gringo style, topped with lettuce, tomatoes, and queso. Personally, I prefer the legit version, with onion and cilantro. Al Pastor - Not the best, but OK. Fajita Looked sizzling good! Didn't try it though, so can't comment on the flavor. It's a small place, and the place was empty but for us on a Saturday night. But they had a LOT of people coming in for pick up, so I'm thinking th place is still popping. We were seated by the door, and on December, I ws getting cold from all the door opening. I didn't check out the other side of the restaurant, but maybe it would've been better if we were seated inside. Have been coming here for years. They're really good restaurant but the last year and a half or so, whoever is doing the cooking is adding way too much salt!! You can always tell a difference, it tastes better towards the end of the week. read more

At times the food can be hit or miss. More often than not, it's a great hit. They have a few spots inside if you prefer to dine in, or carry out is always available. Their salsas are delicious always. My favorite is their tacos Del rio (steak with avocado and black beans). It's worth a try for sure! read more

Spring street has horrible customer service. Rice and beans were cold with no flavor, shells soggy. I called for some type of compensation and they told me to drive back up there with the full rice and beans and get new ones. Really great food and awesome service. I had the 3 chicken enchiladas and Yoko had a combo plate of beef taco, pork gordita, and chicken enchilada. Even the basket of chips set down when we got there were perfect as was the hot and mild salsa. The woman who served us was very nice and attentive without being annoying. I've had California burritos before (from California, lol) so it's safe to say these do the name justice! I ordered take out and the food was brought to my car. However, I did leave my car to go back inside to see if they had any plastic cutlery. When I went in, there was no one to ask besides the cook, who was busy preparing food. Apparently he didn't hear me when I went inside to ask...I repeated myself but he never looked up and no one acknowledged me. I had to knock a star for the customer service there, but if we are judging by food standards I'm certainly not disappointed! I would not recommend using their taco truck service. we booked this for a graduation party and were told that whatever amount we paid for we would receive. If we had under the amount of guests they would package up the food before they left. We are big fans of tacos, so we both ordered the cowboy tacos: chorizo, asada, cilantro, and avocado. They were delicious and had a nice hint of spice. Having been a long time patron of Pico's and generally a happy customer, it saddens me to say that I will never visit their establishment again and would only recommend for people to stay away from there. Ordered a taco dinner for my son and a macho burro burrito w/steak and cheese for myself. Once at home with the food, the burrito seemed "light" and did not see any of the usual fixings in it. Thought they may have just been stuffed towards the ends so took a few bites only to find just steak and cheese. Called Pico's right away and explained the issue that there was only steak and cheese, the girl on the phone said to bring it back and they would make me a new one. Great. Got in the car and 2 minutes later she called back and said that she had spoke to the person who took the order and that person stated that I had specifically asked for ONLY steak and cheese and that she had confirmed that with me (which she did not). Told her that was incorrect and repeated exactly what my order was. She then said " well, we get people who are scamming for free food". This was quite offensive as it was just a simple error on their end and there was no reason to accuse me of scamming. None-the-less, arrived back at the restaurant 2 minutes later. The girl I spoke with on the phone came out with a new burrito and asked for the other one back which I gave to her. She opened the box and said the prior was half gone and they could only take it back if the was only one bite out of it (there was 2 bites out of it). It was at this point they lost me as a customer. I asked her if she wanted 2 or 3 dollars for the extra bite I took which she declined but wanted me to know that policy. She then took the food back into the restaurant. I wonder if they were planning on reserving food that had left the restaurant??? I sure hope not. Anyways, they have lost me as a customer and with customer service as I experienced it, I am sure they will be losing more. Please stay away. read more

Steak Taco Tuesday We order the original style steak tacos (cilantro, lime & onion that are beyond yummy!) & you get an entire pan full of them (it's 10, but you'd think more bcz they're stuffed!) as well as your sides of rice & beans. We skip the beans & get an entire to go box filled with their rice which is so delicious! Then they also give you an entire bag of chips & some small containers of salsas, but we order guacamole to go with it & that, too, is so on point! I'm picky about my guac & they do a great job! And all that food for $25! It's worth the spend! Every Tuesday; if you haven't by now, check Pico's out! I loved getting their carne asada fries from here and they were so bomb so tender. Went in today and they gave me a half ass presentation sour cream serving size for a 2 year old. Steak was dry. Called and complained and lady was rude talk about how they didn't have it on menu and that they stopped adding the salsas on the side instead of on the fries?? I drove an extra 15 minutes to try this out because of the great ratings. How in the world did it get almost 4.5? Great Salsa - The hot is very hot. Service was 5 stars *bringing this review to 3! Prices were fair, closer to $$. Very old, dry rice. Some pieces were like chewing shards of glass. Refried beans were average. Chips must be store bought and were kind of stale. Crunchy taco shells are stale, but tasted home fried. Guacamole has all the right ingredients, but no spices... very average. 2 people with (3) tacos dinner each and only 1 soda was $26 with no appetizers. In and out fast, but would rather it took longer and the food could be made fresh. Overall, I won't be coming back because I can eat more fresh for the same price anywhere around town. read more

He's a lifelong resident of Houston and has eaten at Mexican restaurants, taco trucks, taco stands throughout his city. My first time here. I didn't know it existed until 30 minutes before I got there, but it looked popular on Yelp, so off I went. I ordered take out, and I would give the overall service a good score for efficiency. And now to my California Surfer Burrito. It was, in a word, fantastic. Very very flavorful, and this was after a 15 minute drive home. Definitely one of the best burritos I have ever had, and probably the best.
