Combination plate, quesadilla [chicken] beef enchilada, rice and beans and pork taco
    Robert M.

My son and I had a long day of driving on our road trip and wanted some good Mexican food. We stopped in based upon a quick search on the phone. We followed GPS to arrive at El Pueblito Mexican. The service was prompt and efficient. A very young waiter helped us. I think he was practicing his ESL skills as his diction and pronunciation was nearly perfect. I was pleased to be served by such a young man. Drinks and chips and salsa were brought out immediately. My son had the combination, I had the chicken fajita salad. The salad was really quite good but the guacamole was not quite like I am used to on the west coast. The ambiance is a hybrid restaurant take out in a strip mall setting. The dining is rather casual as there are no table cloths or glass covers on the tables. All in all a very respectable hi quality to cost ratio eatery. I definitely think the locals are aware of this establishment based upon the stream of take out orders I observed.

Carne Asada burrito without beans. The meat was tender and delicious!

The food and ambiance were amazing. The service was above and beyond. My friend recommended coming here for lengua. My dad loved it. I also tried it and it was so tender. We both had burritos but I had carne asada Dad asked for enchilada sauce, cheese, and sour cream! We will be back to bring mom!

The food here was absolutely delicious. I'm always wary of having Mexican food outside of SoCal and Texas but this was delicious and authentic! You can tell the salsa is homemade and some of the best around. The carne asada tacos were amazing and a special shoutout to the beans. I really enjoyed those. The customer service was just as good as the food, and our waiter and waitress were very nice. I really loved the Spanish music videos in the background. It really made the ambiance feel authentic. I would absolutely eat here over and over again!!

Don't let the location or logo deceive you, this is an authentic and delicious Mexican spot. It's affordable with large portions and prompt service. Loved the tamale and chicken enchilada. The steak taco was also good, but the tamale was super tender and chicken had a really nice flavor. We went on a Sunday around 3 and it was packed but we got are food fairly quickly. Definitely recommend.

Wow what a treat! We were leaving Michaels in Racine staring down the barrel of another Jersey Mikes or Q'Doba dinner when we saw this gem and decided to give it a try. So glad we did. As transplants to Kenosha from Los Angeles we lived most our lives spoiled rotten when it came to Mexican food. Coming here we've tried a few and been sorely disappointed each time. LA Fogata, yuck. El Camino, barely Mexican. Tacos El Rey pretty good but limited selections. This place was by far the most authentic Mexican food I've had outside of Cali or Texas. We had the carne asada plate, carne asada tacos and an amazing wet burrito and we all loved our food. Plus, the margaritas! Bomb! They had three very different but equally delicious salsa choice and the staff couldn't have been more pleasant.

The only thing better than the service was the food! They seated us promptly and the food was served quickly.

Excellent authentic Mexican food, good service too, very casual dining but I wasn't concerned with it. I plan to return.

Amazing service, tasty drinks and generous portions of authentic cuisine. Plenty of seating inside for larger parties, too.

The menu features lots of excellent Mexican cuisine choices including quesadillas, birria/ chorizo/ or steak tacos, Mexican breakfast options, and a small kids menu. During our first experience here, my husband ordered the steak taco plate which included 3 tacos, rice and beans. He also ordered the birria ramen. I, myself, ordered the birria taco plate which included 3 birria tacos, the consume, rice, and beans. We thought everything tasted very good! Beverages include: Different Mexican beverages such as Jarritos, Mex Coke, Horchata etc. Once could also canned soda, coffee, or juice. Their horchata was delicious-not overly sweet or watery at all. As far as alcoholic beverages, they have those, too! Paloma's, margaritas, and I was informed that they will soon have a mocktail menu. Service: Excellent. My husband and I dined-in on a very busy Sunday and there was no where to sit except a high counter-top area. We placed our order and were offered a table as soon as one became available. While eating, we were asked at least 3-4x if everything was okay or if we needed anything by various staff members. Prior to leaving, it started pouring rain outside. My husband paid our bill then went to pull our car closer to the door. While he was doing that, one of the employees by the name of Lupe grabbed an umbrella and walked me to the car when he pulled up (it's summertime and I was in summer attire including sandals). When I ordered carry out and sent my husband to pick up, I only wanted rice and beans. For some reason, he did not check the bag before leaving. He ended up coming home with some else's entire order which had no beans or rice. The restaurant was set to close in 15 mins, thus I did not bother to call about it. Value: $10-$20 on average for a meal and regular beverage. Great value for the portion sizes. Ambiance: Nice ambiance, yet very small restaurant with a bar area. Few tables outside for outdoor seating. Location: 2343 Mead St, Mt. Pleasant, WI, 53403 Phone: 262-456-0154 *Parking is all street parking and not the greatest when the place is busy. Check Google for business hours before going as it seems to change often. Cons in my opinion: * Because the restaurant is so small, I didn't like that large families were dining in and being *dining squatters* by taking up a few tables and conversing with one another for a long time, which took up a lot of space for a lot time. *dining squatter- someone that dines at a place, taking their sweet time eating, and lounging around after eating. * this business also owns a food truck, so it seems that their restaurant hours of operation change quite often depending on when they will take their food truck out.

Served very little chips/salsa (no biggie-until you want more) she never comes back to the table or offers anything more. We had to flag her down; tell her more chips (wanted more salsa, but she hurried away before asking) she took the empty chip basket and empty salsa cups(assuming she would refill them) Waited a while she only gave us another small Portion of chips/NO salsa. We wanted more drinks(1 margarita and 1 refill water) flagged her down yet again) EVERYTHING takes forever w/this lady(no name tag).. We finished our food and our margarita and water was delivered by a young man/not her-he had a wonderful smile.. Than she came over as we were paying the bill and asked need anything else.. So rushing to drink the margarita (since it was served) while paying the bill was quite disappointing. I want to try this place again/avoiding this lady waitress. There was a young man there and he was on top of his table-REQUESTING HIM NEXT TIME!! Giving this place one more chance since the food was good, but I need good service too..

The food was awesome, the margaritas were fantastic and served in mason jars. This name of this place sounded familiar to me so we came here. We went in thinking this was the place and was seated quickly. They served chips and a green salsa right away, my riding buddy thought that the salsa we had before was red. We ordered our usual margaritas anticipating a good cocktail. When the drinks came we were a little disappointed that they were not in a mason jar. We were very disappointed that the margaritas tasted like there was no tequila in them, it was like drinking mix. I finished mine fairly quickly and when the server brought the food We mentioned how the margaritas tasted like there was no alcohol in them. He explained that the margaritas are pre-made in batches, a margarita should always be made fresh from scratch in my opinion. I asked for another and also asked that there be alcohol in this one. He brought the second one and the flavor was much improved, it no longer tasted like just mix. My riding buddy ordered a second and her drink still tasted like mix only so I ordered a shot. The service was good, the ambiance was great but the margaritas a big let down.
