She cleared her schedule and was able to beautifully capture my increasingly huge and more active, less sleepy infant. The preparation that went into the shoot was top notch from the heat being turned up in the studio so my baby wasn't cold to the wide variety of outfits, props, sound machine, and she even had a camping/outdoorsy background that fit our nursery theme! We BOTH felt we were in the best of care; my baby is normally fussy in the hands of strangers but Kara had a way of calming him to get all the cutest poses effortlessly, and I as a new mom was able to finally relax for a few hours. She is also a mom to two littles and was incredibly easy to talk and relate to. Over the years, the etching was coming loose from the matting, it was slightly wrinkled and the frame became worn. I wanted to have it rematted and possibly get a new frame.The owner of South Shore Gallery talked to my husband and me for probably half an hour, seeming excited about working on the piece, looking it over and also suggesting things she thought we could do. She told us she'd have it completed in about 10 days and she would call us. We left confident that we had come to the right place. We paid half down, as requested. To make a long and frustrating story short, after about two weeks, I called to inquire about it and it was not done; she said she'd hurry and get it done. When it was ready, I was shocked that she could call it ready -- the color of the mat was nothing like our original choice. Worse, the mat partially covered the artist's signature and the name of the piece. And, you can see it is not flat in the frame; it has ripples. Further, a label that originally was on the back, which she said she would save for us, was not there. Just wanted to warn others to be careful if you have items that are valuable to you.
