The shop person seemed to care more about being personally, ideologically correct than morally correct, and certainly didn't care about his customer's concerns about related health issues, nor did he offer to wear a mask to make me, a customer, feel more comfortable. They also had a build your own old fashioned menu which we obviously had to try and ended up being a highlight. For the candle making itself, you start by going to a wall full of different scents. The staff tell you the proper way to smell it and what you should be looking for in a candle. I honestly learned so much. Once we picked our scents, our server then walked us through the candle making process. She was very attentive and explained everything, making it really easy to follow. After the candles were made, we had to wait about 30 minutes to let them settle, which gave us time to chat and try another cocktail. In total it took about 2 hours. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was due to cost. It was pretty pricey to make a single candle, which you are paying for the experience as well. However, something to keep in mind when planning your next date night. Overall, we had a fun time making the candles (and cocktails) and I will be recommending Glassnote to my friends for a unique night out.

I had a terrible experience here that required me to find a new wedding dress within three weeks of…read moremy wedding. I would not recommend this shop to anyone. I went into White Off the Rack with photos of a dress that I fell in love with at another store. They said they could order me a new dress in that style and I said yes. When the dress arrived and I went to try it on and pick it up, it was HUGE. I could take handfuls of lace on the sides that would need to be removed. I expressed concern to the stylist about how large it was and she said "alterations can work wonders and will be able to fix it." I trusted her and took the dress home. I went to alterations and spent $1,000 on just alterations trying to get it to fit. At the end of all of this, the integrity of the dress was ruined because alterations couldn't get it to the correct size. I ended up going to the original store that I found my dress at and they sold me a sample so I would have something to wear on my wedding day. I wrote to White Off The Rack and described my horrible scenario that I went through at the store. The owner called me and said "I wish you would have said something before alterations because we could have taken the dress back." I did say when I picked up the dress that I was not happy and it was huge. They said to get alterations done anyways! Honestly I feel like I was duped. I spend $3,000 total on this dress that I can't wear and the only thing that the owner suggested is that I try to resell it. I told them that I was not happy with the fit and they told me to get alterations done. Once alterations are done they can't take it back. I do not recommend this store to anyone. I spend $2,000 on the gown and $1,000 on alterations and they are not compensating me at all. They should have agreed that the size was too big when I did my try on and not told me to get alterations. I feel that was their way out so they could wash their hands of me and say I altered the dress so they can't take it back.

The owner took his time chatting with me and working out a deal I was happy with. They may not have everything, but it seemed that what's there is both reasonable and negotiable, within reason. I also got the sense that the owner had a Macguyver side, which, based on my experience, I will likely use if the need arises. Overall, though nervous at first, I walked away happy. It's nice to have positive interactions with local businesses. More stars if bigger, but as it is a small business it may not be for everyone.
