Look, they didn't give me medicine for my high blood pressure

It's the worst hospital they call Piedmont or hospital in that in nothing because the attention is the ugliest I could present I arrived in my husband's arms without being able to breathe or walk by myself and they didn't want to take care of me as it should be saving lives all this was told my husband he couldn't believe what was happening my blood pressure rose to 145/101 and because of that my body went into convulsions with taticardia they say it was fine but not because in the document they gave me my blood pressure was still high and they didn't give me anything to control it and instead of giving me for my high blood pressure they gave me for my stomach I didn't go with stomach pain and I couldn't breathe by myself I put everything on my part not to die alone God helped me at that moment they didn't even put me oxygen and in the document they gave me on my exit from the hospital they gave me medicine

Scrambly eggs, biscuit snd gravy and crispy bacon. Surprisingly good food in the hospital cafe.

Perfect experience! From the minute my Ambulance arrived I was treated like a guest. The ER doctors were prompt and kept me informed. All the techs that came in and out were friendly and every efficient. I ended up being admitted and was taken up to my room pretty quickly. It is in the new wing and I swear it's the largest, most luxe room I've ever had anywhere. The bed is incredible! It is so very comfy and has a ton of buttons to adjust for comfort. There is a cell phone caddy with a usb charger built in. Loved that feature! The tv is good sized, much larger than the one in the ER room I was in. Dietary called me every day to ask what I wanted for meals. They offered several options and I could customize my plate as I wanted it. Never seen that before either. My doctors kept me informed and gave me plenty of opportunities to ask questions. The nurses and techs were very responsive. No complaints!! All my medical records are stored here so any specialist I go to can access them easily. I always try to choose Piedmont affiliated providers. They have a great patient portal where I can look up my records, visit summaries, medications, appointments including my past appointments, and contact my providers. No one likes being in the hospital but if I have to be, I want to be in this one.

Left me with the worse scar I've ever seen

I can't do anything about this other than leave a review to warn others. My mother was here after a…read moresevere stroke that left her left side paralyzed and with aphasia, incontinence, and confusion. Let's start with the positives: Most of the nurses are incredible and are doing the best they can. There were a select few nurses that helped my my mother bathe and brushed her hair ad put it up in a ponytail to prevent further matting that occurred when she was in the ICU. Now for everything else. Within the first 48 hours of arriving, a nurse left a tourniquet on my mother's left arm for at least two hours. Not only could we not assess if this did any damage because her left side was already suffering from palsy due to the stroke, but it left an awful mark that I'm sure hurt. I asked them to document this incident but after looking at her medical records it looks like no one did that. Throughout her stay, I could tell when things were wrong. I would ask for a test to be run for, say, a UTI, and it took so much pushing and several days of my mother grimacing and white-knuckling the rail to get a test done at all, and then hours for antibiotics to be administered after results were back. The communication here is God awful. My mother was mostly deaf, and somehow it either wasn't in her chart or no one was reading it, because no one knew until I asked them to put a sign up in her room that said "hard of hearing." They lost her hearing aids, also, which certainly didn't help. Some nurses weren't aware of when she had infections or even that her left side was paralyzed. My mother's insurance stopped covering her stay at Landmark after about two/three weeks, and would not cover any more unless someone at Landmark said there were complications with her. No complications were reported, despite her developing MRSA pneumonia and having to be 24/7 restrained. The administration did their best to push her out of Landmark to a nursing home, and ended up not restraining her when they should have because in order for someone to be sent to a nursing home they have to have been out of restraints for at least 48 hours. My mother decannulated often due to the discomfort of the trachea and her lack of understanding as to the harm it caused. She needed 24/7 eyes on her, and they often had a nurse sitting at the door, but due to understaffing she couldn't always be there. My mother pulled out of her restraints countless times, or they weren't tight enough so she could pull herself up enough to take the cannula out. This contributed to her developing tracheal stenosis, a narrowing of her trachea, which caused her death due to acute respiratory failure the day she was transferred out of Landmark. Suffice to say, I don't recommend anyone stay at Landmark if you have serious issues. The administration simply does not care about you, and the nurses are too overwhelmed to do anything. If you have absolutely no choice in where your loved one ends up, and you HAVE to choose Landmark, I IMPLORE you to spend as much time with them as possible and to be a fierce and aggressive advocate for their health. You have to become an expert in their care whether you like it or not to make sure things are being done right.

They had a motivated respiratory team and my husband made great strides getting off the ventilator and in getting his trach removed. When I went to the ultrasound appointment a few hours later I found out it wasn't for my bladder but for my uterus. I got the impression from the technician that this level of bamboozle was common. The radiology group is Radiology of North Georgia (RoNG) and is in the same cluster of buildings. Trinity contacted me through my chart to pay a $230 bill for the service which I did. Then I started receiving bills from RoNG for nearly the same amount. They argued that these were totally separate bills even though the one I paid via the portal clearly was for the ultrasound. However, if you look at Google reviews of RoNG you can see that they give zero f***s and will send you to collections for $50. Avoid St. Mary's and avoid Radiology of North Georgia.

I called my endocrinologist's office to ask. Turns out the office for labs is in the building next door to my doctors office. So quick and easy! You just can't beat that for any medical appointment!! So grateful for St Mary's.

With my high-deductible insurance plan, preventive care is covered 100% and the ACA defines that as: "Initial comprehensive preventive medicine evaluation and management of an individual, including an age and gender-appropriate history, examination, counseling/anticipatory guidance/risk factor reduction interventions, and the ordering of appropriate immunization and laboratory tests." I spoke with Dr. Madala during my visit and said I would not be comfortable speaking freely about any medical issues if I were going to be billed for anything other than a routine exam and I was assured that that was not a practice that Piedmont engaged in. Before I mentioned shoulder pain, I specifically asked if I was going to be charged additional and the doctor said that I would not be. No exam was done--she just said she could get me a referral for a physical therapy. (And I ended up having to call her office 3 or 4 days later to actually get the referral sent because it wasn't done.) No new diagnoses were applied. I've been on my medication for many years and no discussion was needed because the dosage is fine and I simply needed authorization for a refill. I even provided my own bloodwork from a few months before. No additional tests or exams were done. My appointment was at 2pm and didn't start immediately on time. I was leaving the building at 2:26pm according to my phone data so the actual appointment did not even last 20 minutes. If this was a full evaluative appointment it would have lasted much longer than that. A month later I received a $350 bill (even higher than the double bill at NEG). I submitted an appeal to customer service pointing out that this should be preventive care and was told to talk to my insurance company about my deductible. Completely useless. I reiterated everything stated above and have received no response in eight days. When I sent Dr. Madala a message asking why she told me wrong information, she was very rude and said that she wouldn't be changing anything in the notes so that my appointment could be re-billed as preventive care. In no world should a 20-minute appointment cost $350. You aren't that great Piedmont. Even if your offices look nice and bougie, you're still in semi-rural Georgia. And if you employ rude, lying doctors and useless customer service associates, you should spend more money on training your employees and less on your fancy office decorations.
