Urgent care charges very expensive might as well hire competent front desk staff that doesn't make patients do all the registration on their phone. And okay, I can do it on my phone. I even pre registered at home on my computer. I am meticulous, prepared, and had insurance cards with me, but then their practice did not file my second insurance correctly. Secondly, the nurse practitioner is completely incompetent. She prescribed my daughter ear drops that after insurance costs approximately $300 and would not be available for 2 days. I had to return to the office to ask for another medication as the NP would not answer the pharmacist call. She then called in another random prescription that was not in stock. The pharmacist had to call the clinic once again in an attempt to inform her of the most commonly and in stock medication used for swimmers ear to which she finally prescribed. But she was fishing in my veins, which is not allowed that is not a good thing to do. That is very bad. Not sanitary at all. I'm not even a nurse, but I was in nursing school and even I know not to do something like that. So why is a professional doing something that's discouraged. She did it on both arms before going to get the doctor. She could tell I was traumatized because I was sobbing, shaking and hyperventilating. The care quality generated mixed feelings, on one side, the Assistant Physician, seemed to know…read morewhat she was doing, to some extent. I was "diagnosed" with a sciatic problem but with some prescription the pain could be eased. When the time to wrap up came she left and sent the Medical Assistant to inform me that a urine sample of was needed to discard a kidney infection, but I was not able to provide such sample at that moment, so I offered her to give me a recipient so I did not need to wait there all the time. The answer was that I needed to wait for a decision on that. After 20 minutes the Assistant physician came back and told me that my option was accepted. I asked if she had sent the prescription to my pharmacy but the answer was no. She needed to complete the visit once I came back with the sample. One hour later, I was able to produce the sample she asked for and her verdict was that no kidney infection was found in their lab. So I asked why she did not send the prescription before since the sciatic problem, I could have gotten the medication and taken it but in the meantime the my excruciating pain did not ease. To confirm, I asked if she was a Dr because I am not sure about what her title meant. She replied three times with the same question, that I asked to confirm that I had not been cared for by a physician. She got very upset and told me that a report was going to be filled with her physician and left the room.I left after her and asked what was going to happen with the prescription and the answer was that since I am leaving there is no prescription to be filled. The paperwork when you check in is full of repeated questions, even in the same page on one of the forms. That process cost me 20 minutes. The assessment performed for the diagnostic some other 20 minutes plus another 20 waiting for the approval of my plan to do not wait in the office. All that time, since 0930AM till noon and came back home with the same pain and threat to fill up a report just because that person probably realized that something was not done the right way. I would highly recommend checking in online versus going there to check in. The receptionist was friendly. I was called to the back about 10 minutes after my scheduled time. The RN who took my vitals was really sweet and nice. I waited over an hour for the Nurse Practitioner to come into the room. Having major back pains, every minute counted. The NP listened to my concerns and was able to provide some relief. Overall, I had a good experience - despite the waiting. But it's common to wait hours at Urgent Care.
