There's Sephora, Ulta, H&M for run-of- the- mill mall shopping. There are food court kiosks but they are spread out instead of collected in a good court. There are "print your own tee shirt" spots, some local biz, and a dollar store. A movie theater. A co- working space. City Winery. All under one very large roof. That doesn't make for good browsing, imo. I stop in if there's something I need at one store, then leave. I've never stopped for moisturizer at Ulta and decided to visit Burlington or watch a movie. The Gallery was a place to hang out in its heyday, but Fashion District restricts unaccompanied minors. So it often feels empty and lifeless. But if you need a brick-and-mortar store so you can try on before you buy, they might help.

There's even a skyway that connects two building structures that make-up the mall. You have you're mall standards inside like H&M, but also an Apple store. Despite being an urban mall, it's pretty spacious and - in the winter - good place to duck inside for a break from the cold weather.

From the moment I walked in I personally was a little overwhelmed. The name Nordstrom leads me to expect a certain vibe, this did not hit that. The shoe area is a good size, but tiny aisles. It was pretty organized. There is some areas to sit, but not enough. There were people sitting on the floor. There were many racks throughout. There is lots of departments like kids, mens, womens, shoes, bags, suitcases and much more. There is a lot to sift through. The pricing was in my opinion a little high. I can find items one sale, cheaper especially with a coupon. I am sure I made a face at some of the pricing like, "Um really. You want that much for that?" The staff were ok. I had one who tried to help, but he was new so he was unsure on the answer. I ended up not staying too long. I was just there for shoes, and walked out empty handed.

Just got done shopping at this home depot where my husband was getting supplies to build two…read morepicture frames. He was SO excited about this project. I was happy to see him happy. Home depot quickly ruined that! We spent about a half hour collecting all the supplies we needed, went to the checkout area (its self checkout with a customer service rep monitoring the stations), and that's where things took a wrong turn. Rang up all our items then it got to the lumber pieces. He scans the ticket sticker on the piece of wood and the computer lights up saying we need assistance from a customer service rep. She was standing right there and so he says, yeah I just need to ring this piece of wood up? This strip of skinny wood was under $2. She rang up that he bought 15 pieces of 15 foot strips of wood (clearly she could see we did NOT have that in our cart!) In the chaos of the hustle and bustle of retail this time of year, he didn't realize the cost was WAY over and was trying to pay and get out of the store. Right after the receipt comes out he looks at it and says to the customer service rep, "wait a minute, I said the piece of wood was 15 feet, you charged me for 15 separate pieces of wood!" She says "oh I sorry you have go to customer service for that." Now fuming inside... we go to customer service and stand in yet another line. Get to the return station and tell this girl what happened and she looks at the receipt for 2 seconds and says "oh this is such and such amount$ per foot" - THIS WAS INCORRECT - she just brushed it off to get us out of the store and keep the line moving. My husband knew she was wrong but at this point realized nobody cared enough to fix this issue and we were both having anxiety attacks on top of fuming with anger so we just left the store. We both double checked this piece of lumber, the price etc. and they overcharged us without a doubt. THEIR MISTAKE. An expensive mistake!! A CARELESS mistake. The kind of mistake that makes you want to never go shopping again. The kind of mistake that when it happens at the end of a stressful week makes you feel suicidal. Thanks home depot, for ruining the chance of happiness my husband would have had today if you had one modicum of care or decency.

After finishing up with what I was doing in the area and on my way home I would run in here and grab what I needed. I parked near the exit and took the long walk to the entrance. That way when I was done inside I would be able to make the walk to my vehicle quicker. Once inside, I took the shortest route I could to the sections I needed. Which is never easy in an IKEA. I headed towards the lighting section to pick up what I needed and then browsed for shades. Found one that I liked and started to head towards the exit...or at least what I thought was the exit. Out of the maze, and paid, I was out the store. Parking near the exit was greatly needed as I was already tired of the heat.

A shout out to Peggy, who actually helped instead of telling like the other employee - he should keep in mind that this store is huge and extra!!! We started the day with lunch - plant balls and fish balls (very good actually!), mashed potatoes and veggies. Of course we HAD to have a slice of rainbow cake! (icing better than the pretty cake). My daughter applied her college discount - boo ya! Props to staff for the help!
