Honestly, organized chaos here. I think there is 2-3 floors worth of merchandise. It honestly gave off vibes of a Burlington. From the moment I walked in I personally was a little overwhelmed. The name Nordstrom leads me to expect a certain vibe, this did not hit that. The shoe area is a good size, but tiny aisles. It was pretty organized. There is some areas to sit, but not enough. There were people sitting on the floor. There were many racks throughout. There is lots of departments like kids, mens, womens, shoes, bags, suitcases and much more. There is a lot to sift through. The pricing was in my opinion a little high. I can find items one sale, cheaper especially with a coupon. I am sure I made a face at some of the pricing like, "Um really. You want that much for that?" The staff were ok. I had one who tried to help, but he was new so he was unsure on the answer. I ended up not staying too long. I think Nordstrom Rack in general is kind of giving Ulta and Sephora a run for their money as far as cosmetics and perfume goes. I used to shop the Rack for clothes and shoes but they weren't really selling make up like that. Well you can find full arrays of popular brands here. For me it's the selection of NYX. Fully stocked unlike Ulta who seem to hit or miss. The store is clean and neat, well laid out and has two floors. My only problem was finishing men's socks. I wanted to gift a nice pair to my co worker but I could not find any at this location. Strange but definitely worth a pop in. read more

I am thankful to the young lady at Nordstrom Rack in Center City today where I bought a pair of Nike sweat pants and a shoe horn. I needed to try the sweat pants on at one of the dress rooms but, when I was able to leave, I left my financial portfolio book in the room. I discovered in time and got the same young lady who was overseeing activities there. It turned out that she had quickly put my personal financial document away behind the cashier counter. This is a good Nordstrom Rack in the city. It was right across the street from the hotel and needed a few things that didn't get packed, so this was super convenient. I've shopped at other Nordstrom Rack stores in the past and this one has all of the same sections. It's 3 floors (4 if you count the basement rest rooms) of men's, women's, shoes, and accessories. If I had one comment, it's that the men's section seemed smaller than most of the other stores I've been in. Same with the men's shoes. I feel I spent a lot more time looking through men's items at the larger single floor stores. The women's sections seem to be pretty vast taking up most of the floor space. Like any Nordstrom Rack, if you find something you like, get it. You may not find it again! read more

I love this Nordstrom Rack location! It's large, so there is a great selection of items. There are great products in the impulse section by the checkout, they are VERY hard to resist. I frequent this location for returns more often than purchases, because I love to shop Nordstrom Rack online. In-store returns are always much easier than shipping and having a Nordstrom Rack a few blocks walking distance is great. My favorite part about this Nordstrom Rack is that they are pet friendly. Yesterday, I was able to get a large return done with my pup at my side. My only complaint is that there is typically a long line or a bit of a wait to get to a register. If you are in a rush, I would not recommend stopping in. I have had very positive experiences with the cashiers here, which I'm not sure I deserve with the amount of returns I do here! It's great to have a Nordstrom Rack in Center City! While I prefer the King of Prussia store, the NR on Chestnut is quite large for being in the city. They have great options in their women's shoe section and I have found cute things in the women's clothing section as well. The men's department is lacking as well as the accessories, which seems a bit disorganized. The reason I am giving two stars is for the staff, after waiting in a very short line of one person who was ahead of me I walked up to the open counter with a cashier standing there. She was chatting with the other cashier and customer. I was in a rush so I approached with my shoes. As I walked closer she rudely told me she was helping the others (which she wasn't). When she was done talking she said she could help me. I asked if it was possible to put an item on hold. She responded, no. I said I did not want to take them then. She then proceeded to grab the box without a word. If it wasn't for this rude interaction I would have rated 3-4 stars. read more

Oh goodness. Nordstrom Rack is one of my favorite stores for deals on fashionable clothes. I have typically had a mediocre to good experience at this location. Even though I found the items I was looking for, my excursion today was way below average. For one thing, the dress I picked out clearly had something on it. The employee in the fitting room explained that it was makeup and it should rub out. I was a little hesitant, because if it didn't come out, would I be the one to make it worse? Anyway, I decided to take my chances, trusting her judgment on this. I went downstairs and the line was long and filled with disgruntled patrons. The cashiers looked like they could care less. With the line unending, there were 2 cashiers plodding along, and one abruptly walked away! At that point the cashier, a man, turned around and I had to see his exposed butt crack. Seriously? With no eye contact at all, he called the next person in line, which was me. By now it was apparent he was just going through the motions. I brought up the stain again and he just murmured, "you can bring it back for a full refund if it doesn't come out." In the same flat tone he greeted me with! The sign in the front of the store seems to suggest they are hiring staff for the upcoming holiday season. However, they need to make sure they are training their new staffers in customer service because this ain't it. read more

They have a ton of stuff, great prices, friendly employees and you can check out pretty much anywhere you can find a sales clerk. This was kind of confusing but definitely cut down on lines. My husband ordered online and the delivery not showed up, the delivery service CDL actually stole the package we contacted both the delivery service and Nordstrom to resolve the issue and the delivery company lied and said that the package was delivered and then later said they were waiting for the warehouse to get back to them and a lot more run around lies, but Nordstrom's actually refunded the money to his account with no problem we're just glad that someone was honorable in this situation but unfortunately a family member had the same issue with fedex and lost out on their money as well as the merchandise be careful out here with these faulty delivery services. read more

Fed up with the staff!! am fed up with the Philadelphia center city Nordstrom rack on Chestnut street. The employees are just plain RUDE!!Today I had two rude encounters. I went to return pairs of shoes I had ordered online that didn't fit. The gentleman that helped me was complaining the whole time and telling me how i could just go into a mall next time and not come into the store to return things. I said that I don't have a car but he proceeded to badger me about it. He took a really long time and started organizing all of the shoes out of the boxes before gave me my return receipt. When I asked him which card the money would be returned to he snapped at me saying I would have to contact my bank. I then shopped for a few clothing items. When I went back down another really rude woma checked me out. The last time I was in the store she was annoyed that I couldnt log into my credit card thru my sms and was huffing and puffing that she had to get my Id to get all the info up on the computer. This time I asked if I could use my rewards towards my purchase and she very very rudely said 'it's too late you'll have to use it next time.'THey never offer if you wanna use your money at the right time, so this is the second time that's happened to me. I'm extremely fed up and probably will be avoiding that store from now on. I agree with reviewers, the staff here is so rude. I have shopped at Racks across the country, and Hawaii. I have been a Nordstrom shopper since I was 10. They treat you like a thief in this store. I know they recognize me, i made a large purchase and didn't get an item. when I came back and mentioned it about 2 weeks later the incredibly rude clerk who didn't give the item immediately knew the product I was discussing. They can tell how much you spend, amount of points n your account yet they still act as if you have no right to be in their store... it's a discount store get over it.. to be fair there are a couple very pleasant employees at Chestnut. A sizeable store for the center city location. There are 3 stories: first is men's and beauty/accessories, second is women's, and the third floor is kids and shoes. I typically don't shop at Nordstrom rack but happened to stumble upon it while strolling around. There is a good selection of quality designer clothes for a nice discount. But I was most impressed by their selection of shoes! There were multiple aisles of shoes from casual to sporty to boots and formalwear. Though some of the staff members just looked bored at their job and some racks were a little more disorganized, I didn't really mind and I will definitely be returning every so often to check out their newest items! read more

New items weekly and a great location right in front of the 42 bus route. There's makeup (including NYX), hair products, clothes, shoes, jewelry and more. I've actually had a terrible time finding shoes at most racks (say in CA where they are everywhere but here), but I've had so much luck here! Ask the staff of they have it online if not in your available in shoe size in the store. I actually don't have the same luck with clothes. Bathroom on the basement floor and one with an access code on the shoe level. This place does the same wonders of a target or a bookstore...a trip to the bathroom required..TMI? First impression: this is the smallest Nordstrom Rack I have ever been to. Last impression: there are 3 levels so this location is actually pretty sizable. More importantly, the place was neat and merchandises were perfectly organized the way I prefer them, which makes my shopping experience that much more enjoyable. After waiting with breath that was baited for many months, I finally got the chance to check out this new Nordstrom Rack. Right off the bat, I was very impressed by the pleasant demeanor of the people working both at the fitting room area on the second floor and the cash registers in the first floor. There are rolling baskets and double-handle shopping bags available to carry items around. The fitting rooms were pleasant: a little on the small size, but equipped with a good amount of hanging space (a bar plus two large hooks to organize your clothes at you try then on) and a flattering mirror (always a plus)! Unfortunately the store's offerings were less exciting than expected: no wide width shoes and no petite sizes and few of the more usual Nordstrom brands. As a side note, I very much enjoy the addition of the staircase to Daffy's old space: visually expansive and nice that you don't have to wait for the elevators. read more

Three floors of merchandise is pretty much a shoppers dream. I try to frequent this location simply for the fact they carry high end brands here. It's in the city and I don't have to drive far. Makeup, handbags, accessories, clothing shoes and jewelry... A gal like me could spend the whole day here browsing an shopping through every rack. Honorable mention, whenever I had a question or needed help with anything; Rhonda and Tynisha are great team members that assist and help with the trendiest watch and sunglass selection. Overall, this place is an asset to the city. Just wish there were easier parking. Three rounds of driving around and I am out. Lol. Minus a 1 star because I see people trying on the costume earrings and no signs or reps "say no trying on earrings?" Lol. Germaphobic of others trying on earrings and then putting it right back on the shelf. Kinda grosses me out. Put a sign up or wipes or cleaners. Three floors, top floor with shoes and second floor with a lot of racks of clothing at steep discounts for high quality designer brands? I'm definitely sold. I can see how a frequent visitor will find this place boring after awhile, as there isn't a ton of stuff, but it's the city after all. I moved to Philly recently and had to buy a lot of new clothing, since much of my closet still consisted of cheapo fabrics and the college crowd look of F21 and other chains. I was getting frustrated with all the walking I had to do between different shops/boutiques on a lengthy hunt just to pick up high quality outfit basics - that is, until I discovered Nordstrom Rack. Within the first two visits I have picked up many great, good-looking luxe finds and shoes at incredible prices. Some of the brands even have their respective boutiques nearby, retailing at original prices obviously, so it's pretty amazing that I can afford wonderful window-shopping stuff that would normally be out of my price range. Nordstrom rack has really served its purpose as a one-stop fill all my needs sort of place, and I'm very pleased with the amount of time/$ it's saved for me. read more

Its pretty big since its three floors however I found it hard to find stuff and it remind me more of a Marshalls then a Nordstrom rack. I've purchased many things here. The selection is disorganized and inconsistent, and small sizes are hard to find. I have occasionally found great deals. But after an experience akin to theft, I'll never be back. I purchased some items online from Nordstrom, and came to this store to return them. The return was processed. A couple weeks later, the return still hadn't posted to my credit card, so I looked again at the receipt. Somehow, the return credit was applied to a card owned by someone else - someone I don't know who I was later informed has the same first name as me but lives on the opposite coast. Ok, an inexplicable mistake occurred. I called Nordstrom customer service to try to fix the problem and was told, after ~45 minutes of trying to get a rather dim person to understand my problem and eventually being transferred to someone who explained the first-name thing, that there was nothing Nordstrom could do and I'd have to call or go back to the Nord Rack where I'd made the return. Very annoying, but still somewhat ok. Went back to the Rack. Waited in line and explained and explained and was eventually told, there's nothing we can do - call Nordstrom Customer Service. Not ok. I'd explained that NCS also claimed they could do nothing. Used a chat bot to try to resolve with NCS. After a lengthy wait, I was called by someone from Billing who - surprise! - said there's nothing they could do and I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company. I asked about a gift card or other compensation for the mistake, delay, and fact that they still owed me over $300, and was told "Nordstrom doesn't do that." Bottom line: I'm still waiting for the money Nordstrom owes me based on an inexplicable mistake of the cashier who processed my return nearly 2 months ago, and I'll never get those ~4 hours of my life back. read more

When Nordstrom Rack first joined the Chestnut shopping scene, I was excited to have access to one of my favorite stores inside city limits. The one gripe that I have with NR is that it's a little unorganized. I think it's the same way for all NR's but this one just feels a little weirder because everything is spread out on three floors. The first floor is purses and the men's department, the second floor is the women's department, and I think the third floors is shoes and kids (but honestly, I never make it that far cause walking up all those stairs and shopping is tiring lol). I buy a lot of athletic wear from here just because I can get deals on a lot of name brands - Nike and Adidas for example. Thrilled that this key retail corner is again occupied, but I will forever mourn the disappearance of Bonwit-Teller. In any case, this location has a decent mix of goods. I have found that the better Nordstrom Racks are located in close proximity to the regular Nordstroms, such as the Rack in K of P and the one in Troy. I suspect those stores receive a greater percentage of discounted merchandise from their nearby retail brethren. Accordingly, their merch tends to be higher end and better quality. Nonetheless, treasure-hunting here is fun and this location is mighty convenient for returns of merch purchased on-line. Welcome to the neighborhood!!! read more

This is consistently my go-to when I have a game plan on what I need. The problem is, I never stick to that plan. Needed a last minute dress for a wedding and after perusing several other places in the city, I just got so sick of them and ended up here. Word to the wise: much like any thrift store, Marshall's, or Ross, you must dig- and the racks (especially the dresses) are packed in TIGHT. Also, the racks say they're organized by size but: A) customers tend to misplace items on different racks anyway, and B) a size 6 in one brand can translate to a size 2 in another. Don't be fooled by the tag- if you hold it up to your body and it seems like your hips will squeeze in it- try it on anyway. The dress I got for the wedding looked small and said it was an extra small and I tried it on and it magically fit like BOOM. It can be a hit or miss but I've always walked out of here with at least one thing I'm happy with. Staples like winter coats and jackets are great finds here. My most prized possession- my Michael Kors leather jacket - was half off here and it's not any less in quality or fabric and it's been a featured piece in my wardrobe ever since. Even though some of the designer brands are still expensive even after the discount, I find that it's totally worth it. Basically, don't make the mistake I did when Daffy's was here and buy any old tee shirt/pants you can get elsewhere. You make the most of places like this when you're getting the better quality, high-end stuff. Take advantage of it. The shoe selection is my absolute favorite. Don't be fooled by the first set of shoe shelves in the front section- those are the designer brands that are more expensive. If you can find something here, great, but venture through the entirety of the shoe floor. I snagged a pair of nude Jessica Simpson pumps here for $13 freakin' dollars as opposed to the $80 they originally were. Sometimes I think the stickers showing the deep discounts are marketing schemes, but hey, it works on me and at least I can feel a little better about my buyer's remorse. The purse selection on the first floor I'm not crazy about, but you might be able to find a gem here and there. My only complaint would be the checkout process- no matter how long the line is or not, for some reason checking out seems to take forever. read more

I have stopped into the Rack a couple times now on the way to or from exercise classes. So far, I like the store. The selection is reasonably good, but things are a bit disorganized and I can see how that could get worse as time goes on. A lot of Nordstrom Rack stores seem plagued by messiness and poor organization. I will say that the shoe section is kind of bleak and depressing, and the clothing sections are really crowded - but I suppose some of that's unavoidable if you want more items to choose from. I would rather be shopping in an actual Nordstrom, but it doesn't seem like they have them here in Philadelphia. The location of this store is great, though, as the downtown really seems lacking in the major department store area. I know there's a Macy's, but that particular Macy's often seems to have been invaded by the People of Wal-Mart. A moderate to slightly upscale department store is desperately needed, and this is the closest thing I've found in the area. So far, I've picked up some great deals on workout clothes, but I haven't had as much luck with regular clothes. I've had good luck at other Rack stores, though, so I'm staying optimistic. read more

I can't pass by Nordstrom Rack without checking it out. I feel like it's my duty, a second-nature to browse their selections with high-expectations every time. And, unfortunately, most of the time I leave empty handed. If you've been to Nordstrom Rack in Cherry Hill, this may be a disappointment. It's too cramped of a space to house the brands that usually find a permanent home in my closet. I routinely head toward the women's clothing, in hopes of finding a schnazzy dress or new pair of jeans but I get too overwhelmed by the disorganized displays and end up in the shoe section. Sometimes, not too often, but sometimes I will find a great boot or sandal...but more often than not, I leave disappointed. It's truly not the fault of the store, but the lack of space that makes this Nordstrom Rack less appealing than the others.
