I have been coming to Dr. Pierce for a couple of years now. Time went fast! I try to go every few weeks if life doesn't get in the way, because if I skip an adjustment for too long, I can definitely feel the difference. Since I go often, I like to bulk buy my visits to save money. I'm grateful that he and his staff are always able to fit me in, since I tend to just pop in unannounced without an appointment. I've been to a few chiropractors before, but none have helped as much as he has. He takes into account that I have multiple sclerosis and also helped me when I was rear-ended. had been 20 years since a chiropractor visit (which I'd only been a handful of times anyway), but went with an open mind as a visit to a pro was imminent with a recent back snafu I'd experienced. I bent down to pick up something and felt like an ice pick was stabbed into my lower back! tried to "work through it", to no avail and one week later, I found myself sitting in Dr Pierces office(chosen only for location purposes, .2 miles from the house. went in with an open mind, so wasn't too sure what to expect. the scene; Office is set up nicely, staff friendly, wait was very minimal, (new patient here), and the overall atmosphere was pleasant. the Dr. visit; well let's just say it was NOT what I was expecting (not good or bad) just took me by surprise. for context, my previous experience with a chiropractor was that of some mInor/mild body movements, along with her using some sort of tool that chiropractors use that can only be described as an almost "popping with a small rubber tipped hammer" some clicker of sorts, applied in various seemingly random places, however, I'm sure the doc knew where to "snap" the tool, as it seemed to help. (instant Relief, along with the feeling of extending time between visits with the doc) The new doc and I had a conversation about the previous visits and he summed my prior visits up to that sort of practice being more of a way of "confirming" an injury. Im good up till this point as well as good with the taking tests for a more thorough diagnosis'. it wasn't until I was asked to lay on the table. assuming All is normal and after reading some previous reviews about dr pierce, I'm still ok and happy with the visit up to this point. Doc then proceeded to twist my body into various positions, for stretching out my back (assuming) and then BAM!. Doc "adjusted my spine while in this contorted position and I wasn't ready for that at all. Not a happy camper at this point because there was no expectation of this particular technique and quite frankly felt as though my injury was going to worsen. A few more contortions and another surprise attack and it was them that I think doc knew I was done. Got up after a few minutes of deep breathing, and basically had some small talk, then left the office (fully anticipating going back in a week, but slightly unsure. I felt some relief but my ice pick pain was still there however just slightly fast Forward to the next day and my pain is back and not sure I feel like that was the best thing for my injury to get "adjusted " like that. In summary I gave the doc 5 stars, as overall I don't see any reason to bash the doc as he clearly knows his way around the spine and I didnt leave feeling any worse(actually felt a bit of relief prior to going in there) , and the place was pleasant along with the total overall experience. Not sure at this point if I'll be returning, as I'll be getting a second opinion about my injury. read more
