We attended a wedding here. The grounds were beautiful and the building was clean and well kept. The atmosphere was very classy.

I attended several of this year's holiday events. This place is a gem & so is the Director, Victoria.

My husband and I attended a friend's wedding at Pierce House two weeks ago. Neither of us had been to this venue before but were impressed by how lovely it was. The house and the grounds are gorgeous and allowed for the perfect flow of guests around and through the house, porch, lawn, pond and tent area. The couple opted to have their cocktail hour first. Guests mingled outside (they lucked out and had a warm sunny late afternoon) while appetizers were passed. There was an open bar set up on the porch. It was delightful. An hour later, the guests were asked to walk down to the pond where chairs had been set up for the outdoor ceremony. After this we walked back up to the tent where dinner was served. Everything worked seamlessly and seemingly effortlessly...although it's clear a lot of thought and effort went into the planning. My only issue is that the parking area is very small and tight. If there is overflow parking, I don't know where that is. That said, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this venue to anyone looking to host a wedding or any other event. read more

As the 2nd reviewer of this pleasant estate (the first was in 2007!), I can testify to the pretty reflective pond, and the spacious field behind the yellow house where a variety of lawn games can be set up behind the tented site of an outdoor wedding reception. The Pierce House was the perfect venue for our wedding (8/4/18). First of all, it's absolutely stunning. The house itself is such a beautiful backdrop, and the surrounding gardens and rolling lawns add so much natural beauty. There really isn't a bad place for a picture here! The Pierce House is a very "DIY" venue, but that's what my fiance and I were looking for. I felt like they were very upfront from the beginning about what they would and would not provide - they made it clear that they would basically provide the space and we would provide everything else. This was perfect for us since we wanted freedom in choosing our vendors and didn't want a pre-packaged hotel deal. The only vendor you have to use is their tent rental company (Come Rain or Shine) for the outdoor tent and dance floor, but I found them to be very easy to work with. Nancy, the manager at Pierce House, was very responsive and helpful - we even showed up unannounced one weekend months before our wedding to show the venue to my parents, and Nancy welcomed us and gave us a full tour. Her assistant, Laura, also stepped in to help during the final walkthrough with our caterer. You will need to hire a separate wedding coordinator, but it's nice to have Nancy on hand to answer venue-related questions. Overall, we were very pleased with Pierce House, and our guests were definitely wowed by the house and gardens. It's a great spot! read more

Pierce House is a gorgeous spot to get married. We went and visited it once (in the dead of winter, mind you) and absolutely fell in love. Even better was Nancy Beach. She's the caretaker of the estate now, and has taken many steps to repair some of the damage from the previous caretaker, as well as updating the venue. She's very flexible and willing to work with you and your vendors, as well as providing lists of other vendors that have worked with the Pierce House in the past. The Pierce House is basically a DIY venue. They give you the 30 acre property and essentially let you run wild. But DON'T suggest throwing anything (glitter, rice, rose petals, etc) and it's best to leave any notions of confetti at home. It makes sense, though, because it's a historic landmark that actually belongs to the town of Lincoln. The inside of this venue is stunning. I can't wait to get our photos back from our photographer so that we can show off some of the amazing interior shots of the building. The one thing that we didn't like was the tent. It may be fine for other people, but we HATED it. If you don't like it, tell Nancy!! She didn't charge us the thousands of dollars it would have cost otherwise. But we promised we wouldn't use it, and she waived that charge. She was also kind enough to allow us to go through her own apartment for our walk down the aisle. You can't go wrong with this as your venue, especially if you want to create the vision you already have. read more

I cannot recommend this venue enough and the Director/Manager/Wedding Coordinator/Friend (Victoria). We couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding day and the Pierce House is everything. Victoria is so laid-back but also so hard-working and focused, she will make you feel at ease and make sure everything goes as planned. We've had our eye on the Pierce House for our wedding venue for years, from the aesthetic of the property to the historic, cool nature of the house, we only ended up looking here. We had a feeling we wanted to get married here, but once we met Victoria, we were sold. Victoria is part of the Pierce House experience, my friends and family instantly loved her as much as we did, had us cracking up constantly and at the end of the night, my mom was saying "I'm just going to miss Victoria so much." Both my husband and I aren't the biggest party planners and were feeling stressed leading up to our wedding, but every time we spoke with Victoria, we instantly felt excited and calm at the same time. PERFECT WEDDING! From the time we chose to have our wedding at the Pierce house until Our wedding day, we couldn't have been happier with Our choice! The beautiful house, the lush and romantic grounds, the beautiful tent set over the patio (not on grass ....which was awesome) , the porch for cocktail hour, and with out a doubt, our personal favorites..... The Trees!!! Weeping Willows and Shady Oaks gave us the perfect backdrops for so many amazing pictures! Victoria Otis was beyond wonderful to work with and made us feel so special! Her attention to detail is flawless and she truly cared about making our day everything we wanted it to be! Five stars isn't enough!! read more

Lincoln was one of the first towns in the US to begin saving open spaces by purchasing and allocating land into what is called "conservation land". The Pierce House is a prime example of this mission. While the house is amazing there is not much inside but rather a perfect place to have an event (wedding, graduation party etc) But the main attraction is the beautiful property that come summer is a marvelous spot to grab a blanket, some tea, scones and flip through the Sunday Times until you fall asleep in the warm sun. Just be cautious of the plentiful geese nuggets that paint the area around the pond. read more

My husband and I got married at the Pierce House in August 2011. Our wedding was supposed to be on Sunday, 28 August but due to Hurricane Irene's anticipated arrival in Boston that morning, at the last minute at noon on Friday, 26 August, we moved our wedding to take place at 10am on Saturday, 27 August. Only because of Richard's (the caretaker's) resourcefulness and collaboration with our caterer, where we able to reschedule and actually have our wedding. We had our ceremony and reception at the Pierce House and everything went seamlessly. It was a fabulous day and we highly recommend Richard and the Pierce House for your event needs. read more

Our daughter and now son-in-law had their wedding reception for 150 guests at The Pierce House just last month, and it was perfect! The mansion has a casual elegance and we used the entire space - buffet indoors, and seating and dancing outside in the attached tent. The covered side porch was perfect for the bar and the stone dance floor worked quite well without the extra expense of a wooden floor. Richard is great to work with and had excellent recommendations for the tent, the caterer, and the florist - all of whom were wonderful. They have been giving great parties there for years and their wealth of experience made it easy for us to have the best reception ever! Now that the pictures are back I can also say that it is a wonderful spot for memorable photos - ponds, spacious lawn and lovely flower beds. I highly recommend The Pierce House. read more

my friend held her wedding reception at the pierce house and everything was so beautiful. the tent had gorgeous lighting and was really well arranged with the tables and dance floor, with easy access to the house for desserts and restrooms. the lawns were gorgeous and we were also able to play lawn games. read more

It is a venue with beautiful outdoor spaces, lovely indoor spaces than can be personalized if you wish, and the ability to hire your own vendors. My wife and I got married at the Pierce House in September 2010. We hosted both the ceremony and reception there, and have only positive things to say about the facility, the grounds and Richard (the caretaker). We were hosting the event ourselves and were very cost-sensitive as a result. The Pierce House does not require specific vendors, so we were able to find our own caterer, DJ, bartenders, etc. which helped us ensure we had the event we wanted, while saving us significant money. Richard was flexible in letting us get in early to decorate, and very accommodating of the needs of our vendors as well. Overall, a beautiful place and an incredible day for us! read more
