My favorite paint (and sip) studio! They have 2 rooms upstairs and downstairs. I've been to both with numerous different instructors at this point. What I truly appreciate about the studio is that they are BYOB so it offers more flexibility if you are going with people to coordinate bringing snacks and drinks. They ave all the supplies such as glassware (wine glasses, corkscrew), plates and napkins. My first event here was for a "Paint Your Pet". That is considered one of the special events since there are specific instructions to submit by at least ~2 weeks in advance the reference photo so they can screen print it onto the canvas so it is more of a "paint by numbers" than following the instructor since it would be challenging to paint each unique pet. They offered great guidance of how to start. Understandably depending on the fur or pet detail it may take longer. I loved how mine turned out and proudly display it at home. They also offer a reward/loyalty system and somehow I have completed enough paintings at this point to level up to "Collector" so I'm excited to redeem a free painting session. After each event they send out a review survey so if you fill it out you receive a 10% off discount code for the next booking. I also got a birthday gift code of 20% off that I used for the most recent "Autumn Porch Leaner" class. Since I've also completed so many standard canvas paintings at this point I've also branched out now into the unique long/tall paintings for a different experience. I haven't had a bad experience so far and love going to Pinot's Palette Lexington location for fun with friends and family! read more

We booked this place for a group of 8. This place is a gem. There is a nearby parking lot and you can use pay by phone app to pay for the parking. You can bring your food and drinks. The artist who was painting with us was explaining each and every step carefully and multiple times so that no one is left behind. Even if you have never painted in your life, even then it will be easy for you to follow the steps and paint. It was fun and we really loved this experience. We booked a painting we loved and was excited for it but they changed the painting to something else without contacting us and we got disheartened and didn't want to go any longer. When I reached out they said I noticed the change quicker than they could reach out - okay, no problem! I was told they could change it back and was excited and recommitted to coming and having fun! Then I got the email reminding me of the painting in a couple days and it was the new painting we didn't much like. I reached out again and was told they couldn't ultimately change it back - okay, no problem but to not contact us again? Hm. I'm told by the owner to give the painting a shot and she'll send us a gift card to do a painting we actually like - okay, very kind of her! She'll send the gift card the day of the painting - nothing. I reach out Monday via email - nothing. I call and am told she'll send it - nothing. I guess I'll stick with Muse Paintbar. read more

I've been here a couple times already and already booked my 30th party at this venue. Reshma (the owner) is super nice and sweet . The artists and assistant rotates and we hit it off the last time we were there. Our instructor was really nice and had a good music play list. The assistant was helpful in getting us extra paint and whatever we needed. I went to both a 2 hour session and 3 hr session and both were great. It was nice having breaks in between to refill on wine and snacks. I love that the venue provides glasses, plates, plastic cutlery and ICE! I love that its BYOB! Of course it's even more awesome that people are allowed to bring foods and snacks. In the past, we have got meatballs, chicken parm, pizza, eggrolls, cheese/crackers etc. There is also an Indian restaurant nearby and a Bertucci's if take out if preferred. The assistant even put out our desserts and cut the cake for us also! I would recommend this place over any other place because it's actually set up as a painting studio and not a "make shift" one like they have at restaurants and bars. The environment is fun and relaxing. It's also nice that the instructor is standing on an elevated platform so everyone can see and hear her through the microphone. The cubbies in the corner is also helpful to store your things so they don't get dirty. No matter HOW careful you are, you will probably still come home with a smidge of paint. I would recommend wearing an outfit that you won't cry over if it gets a bit of acrylic paint on it. We are definitely fans and we will be back! PS- they do sell frames for about $25.00 if you want to frame your canvas. A few of our friends took advantage of this option. read more

This place is such a blast. The owner was so nice and flexible with accommodating my needs. We brought in catered food and drinks and had a family party with about 15 people. The ages ranged from 8-50. My only regret is that we had a 2 hour party instead of a 3 hour party. The artist was excellent and a fun person. Everyone at the party loved the painting and had a great time. I cannot wait to do it again and again!!!! p.s. this place was much better than others I have been to. read more

Let me start by saying this review is specifically about my experience with having my 6 year old son's birthday party at Pinot's Palette in Lexington. I'm sure if you were going here to paint with friends and drink wine it would be just fine. And let me also say that I don't typically write poor reviews, but in this case I think its warranted. It wasn't a good experience, and I'm writing this review for other parents as a warning if you happen to be considering this business for your party and you have younger kids. The first inkling I had that I may have chosen the wrong venue was in the responsiveness of email communication. I had to follow up with calls a few times when my emails were not answered. Additionally, when I first booked the party I specifically had in mind doing a Pokemon painting, which I was told that they had. I was sent a photo of a pumpkin. They don't do actual characters, which is fine, if I had been made aware of that up front in which case I would not have booked the party. Then the digital invitations that come with the party did not work right. I tested it on myself, and for one it has a price per person on the invite which is so tacky, and secondly when I RSVPd I was taken to a page that said this event is full. I didn't even bring this up to the owner because at that point I felt like trying to get that resolved would have pushed out sending the invites. I used Evite instead. Then the event came. One would expect that there would be enough seating for snacks and cake. They were short several seats. The space is cramped and the one little extra table they had we had used to put the gifts on. We had to move the gifts to the floor to awkwardly sit a few of the kids away from the birthday table. There were some kids that were visibly upset at not having a seat at the table. For a kids party there wasn't enough staff to support a successful event. There was one instructor and one helper. Luckily some parents stuck around but I felt uncomfortable that they had to be burdened. I had also been told to encourage parents to just drop kids off. I have no idea who would have handled all the assistance and paint covered hands without the parents help. I was not made aware upon booking the party that there was an option for a shorter party and I think that would have been more age appropriate in hindsight. The kids got restless by the second hour. There was nobody up front coordinating the two different parties. There was actually a girl at our party who painted and ate who was supposed to be downstairs. Lastly, in the beginning of the party there was a long advertisement about camp and events and it was not appropriate for a group of 6 year olds or really for anybody. When I am paying for a party, please don't use my time to try and sell your business. It was awkward. I did have a conversation with the owner after the party about our disappointment. She was open to the feedback and polite in responding to me. However, she said that she did not realize the party was for a boy, and if she had realized it she would have approached the party differently. This really bothered me. Basically she insulted my child and all boys as well as failed to take an inventory of the party that she sold. This party was not cheap. At $25 a head I would expect the management to know if the birthday kid is a boy or a girl. My advise would be to step it up or don't sell something you are not equipped to make successful. read more

I went for the first time with my husband and we had a great time! The website told us to get there at 6:30 but no one else showed up until the actual start time at 7:00 (not the teacher's fault). So, you probably don't need to get there quite so early. The teacher Cassandra was easy going and did a nice job walking us through the painting process. Good music, and a relaxing atmosphere. We parked in municipal parking but there were plenty of street parking options at that time too. We went on a Saturday night but they also have a lot of Friday night and Sunday classes to choose from. We finished up just before the 9:00pm end time which allowed us to get back for our babysitter. My friends and I were looking for a paint bar in Boston and we came across Pinot's Palette on Groupon. It was worth every penny. There were 8 of us and other groups so it made up to 14 people in total. Karen was our instructor and she was great. She explained things clearly and made it even more fun. During the class, she walked to everyone to make sure we got everything right and did not over paint. Another thing that I like about the place is that it is BYOB. It allowed me to focus on painting and did not put painting brushes in my wine glass. However, it can be the reason why it is more expensive than other paint bars since they do not make money on food or drinks. I suck at painting, however, I did enjoy it and look forward to going back again soon. read more

My girls organized a "Ladies Night" private event here. I believe this is the only paint bar around that's BYOB - food and drinks. That's very cool and makes it relatively cheaper. There were 15 of us, each bringing something made it kind of a pot luck. The private room downstairs is nice and spacious. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. They let us play our own music from Pandora which definitely made it more of a party. The instructor was great, didn't rush us at all. I'm not at all artistic and truly LOVE my painting. Super fun. I had an instructor who was a high school art teacher so he was not critical at all. He had plenty of nice things to say about all the paintings. When I walked in though, I was not greeted. I just picked a place to sit with my partner. I had no idea was running it or who was the boss because everyone was wearing the same apron. There were snacks in the corner but I didn't know if the venue had provided it or someone else brought it in, they never said. the music play list was mostly 80s music, which I like, but I would have liked a bit more variety, maybe some songs from the 90s and early 2000s. my painting came out amazing and my brother in law even offered to buy it! hahaha. This night was super fun, and I'll probably come again. read more

Warning: Do NOT book a private party here when an event is taking place upstairs, no matter what the owner promises!! We had my daughter's 13th birthday booked in the private room downstairs on a Saturday night from 4:30-7:00. Upstairs there was some music concert/event scheduled for 7:00, but the owner assured me it would not affect us. Indeed it did! The band started practicing at 4:30! The music was so loud and the floor was pounding. It ruined my daughter's birthday. We could not hear the music in our room and the speakers from upstairs were interfering with our room's speakers creating a static sound. Also, sudden, random loud noises like heavy things dropping on the floor upstairs occurred throughout the night. The teacher was embarrassed and felt bad. She was nice and kept trying to find the owner who did not acknowledge or come downstairs to check on us. Towards the end of our 'private party' people from upstairs who arrived early were coming downstairs into our 'private' room. It was a nightmare and not at all a special birthday to remember. Came here for date night and had an amazing time. We had signed up for project pet and had sent in photos of our two golden retrievers. We were asked to come in early which was nice because we could settle in and familiarize ourselves with the studio. I can't lie, we were nervous! The painting looked very complicated and the instructor even mentioned that this was one of their more challenging classes. We are far from artists but the instructors helped us along the way and we never felt rushed or behind. They said they did not want us to go home with a piece of work we were unhappy about and they ensured that they followed through with that statement by checking in every step of the way. The instructors are friendly, helpful and informative. They are very clear in directions and provide the right amount of control and assistance. They did a fabulous job and we would definitely recommend this class to any pet lovers! read more

This was my first time booking a paint night for 5 people. We had to keep getting a credit versus full refund during the Covid pandemic. It was extended from March to end July. When the studio was still closed and only virtual, I asked for an extension and was given till end 2020. I booked for September and had my friends excited about attending. On the day of the event, (hours before) the owner is asking if I can reschedule and come the next night. Impossible to get my friends all to adjust their schedule on such short notice. We already had dinner reservations before the event. Owner was really not accommodating and telling me I shouldn't be so upset. Really? While I certainly understand these are challenging times for businesses, I would suggest she not book events unless you are certain you can fulfill the request. Even though refunds were not part of their policy. She is giving a refund, thankfully, and not a credit. I have to been to several other paint nights at different venues and never had a problem like this before. Very poor business practice. I will look elsewhere another time. read more

The instructors were very helpful and the designs really interesting. It's nice to have the BYOD option. Pro-The idea is great, I love that it is BYOB (& snacks), the studio manager was awesome. Con-The instructor we had was not at all awesome. I was there on a Saturday Night with a group hoping for some fun. The instructor was critical and said several nasty things about various paintings in the room. I felt like she did not understand why people were there (a fun night out, something different to do). Not a time to attack my lack of painting skills, I paid to be there for goodness sake! Thumbs up! Super handicap accessible. There is a main studio right when you walk in. The instructor (mine was Margarita) stands on a raised platform with a mic and shows you real-time how to create the painting. There is also an example projected via a TV monitor so everyone can see no matter where they are. There is also a studio downstairs, which has a funky girls night out sort of vibe. BYOB (drinks, snacks, etc.), but don't worry about bringing glasses or a cooler- both are available to you at PP. Some paint night places have you cleaning up for them. Not here! Everything was set up for us when we arrived, the artist and assistant were professional, warm and helpful; and the painting was FUN! I had reserved a room for a large party for my birthday. Reshma was very helpful with getting all the details set. I was disappointed that parking wasn't easy to find but other than that things went pretty smoothly until later that night. We unfortunately had gone over our time (as we should have expected with 15 people) and surprisingly Reshma came right up to us during our party to tell us we ran over our time and we wouldn't be getting our deposit back. While I enjoyed the experience with my friends, I was disappointed that business was handled in public. I think the way it was approached was very unprofessional. Everyone in the room knew that she had confronted us and then everyone was worried about what was going on. Everyone felt so bad about the time going over and was offering to pay the $100. I would try going here again for a night with a few people but I won't be booking a large party and reserving a room there again. read more

I just booked and attended an event on Sunday evening and it could not have gone better. It was a private event. There were about 30 of us - mostly 9th grade girls along with a few moms who were chaperoning. We had lots of room to move and the space is really attractive. Everyone had fun. We brought pizza and some snacks and drinks. Reshma had a bucket of ice out for us and everything was set up when we arrived. The art instructor was so sweet (I believe her name is Marguerita) and really encouraging. We all walked out with a nice piece of art. I already hung my daughter's painting on the wall. Reshma was very responsive to deal with and the website worked great for individuals to sign up and pay for their spot without me having to track RSVPs and collect. I would go again in a minute. I held my husband's 60th birthday party here and the staff (owner Reshma and artist Keely) went out of their way to make our event super fun and memorable. I have been to classes held by different painting organizations in Boston area. I also went to Pinot's Palette Lexington a few times. The studio is nice and sunny. The staffs are nice in general. But the owner is not always nice. One time right after the Sunday brunch painting class, we were basically "kicked out" by the owner. The other time, I had registered the 3-hour painting class, a few hours before the class, I was emailed that the class had been cancelled due to low headcount. My friend and I were all bumped out! Not to talk about that I had already arranged someone to take care of my kids days in advance. They offered no compensation or whatsoever. Since there are so many competing studios around the area, I would rather go to somewhere else in the future. read more

I planned an event (Moms night out) recently at Pinot's Palette and can't say enough good things about this place! Previously, I have had my teenage daughter's birthday party and visited couple times with friends too. This time we were 28 in our group and had a blast! We did the black light, glow party and had the basement booked for us. Reshma (the owner) made the entire process so easy for us, right from the paint selection, to booking the tickets and finally day of the event. We all got some drinks and food and Pinot's took care of everything else for us, even glasses! Our instructor was awesome .. she was patient and made it easy for everyone by breaking down everything into steps. She had an assistant and they both took the time to walk around the room to help those who needed some extra help. At the end of the paint night, they took lots of pictures for us and waited patiently until everyone left with their artwork.. happy & smiling!
