While drunk on Instagram, I saw a Black Friday offer for their piercing services that I could not pass up. I paid the fee and instantly sobered up out of fear. The next day I made my way to the shop and after a bit of a wait, apparently a lot of people took the opportunity for this special, I was up. I was only going in for a body jewelry (forward helix) change. I paid $25.99 online for that service. For anyone going here, please note that the entrance to the shop is in the back. I didn't know that so I had circled a couple of times trying to locate the shop. By the time I arrived in the shop, I was 10 minutes late. I don't recall the man saying hi or anything; the first thing he said was that I was late. I apologized and said I was looking for the shop. He said, "Well, I've been here." No one said he wasn't, but OK.... Anyway. After continuing to dwell on the fact that I was late, he said he was charging me a $20 late fee. Sheesh, even doctors and hairdressers are more forgiving than that. It was *10* minutes. I believe the fee was discretionary but maybe I didn't pander enough or have the right look... who knows? I only paid it because I was unable to put in the new jewelry myself. Otherwise, I would've told him to keep the $26 I'd already paid and walked out of there. 10 minutes and $46 later (!!!), I left with new front helix studs in place. Since my service took a whopping 10 minutes, he had at least 10 minutes before the next client. The slots for changing jewelry were 30 min. on the company website, and I was the first appointment and used 20 minutes, so I don't know what caused all the urgency. The service itself was fine but there's a snowball's chance in hell that I'll ever go back. (And I'm not concerned with what late fee/policy justification might be thrown back at me or other snarky comment. I'm just putting it out there for anyone else thinking of going.) read more

Never again!!!! This is a warning for anyone who try to get the complicated piercing like Industrial , the guy, don't really remember the name, Tiny? Big guy, he tried to sell me the spray for piercing which I bought but useless. Also as you see in the photo, he ruined the upper part of my ear ( he supposed to pierce through the cartilage part but he pierced through only the skin part so now the bar is trying to tear my skin apart) I went to Octopus Tattoos the lady told me you gonna have to take it off, let it heal. Also asked me who did this, and told me you can come back to the person who did this to you and let him fix it but HELL NO!!!! There was a sign on the door saying "be back in 30 minutes" and I was blown because I drove all the way to the studio just to finally get my nose pierced. I looked in and saw big tiny and waved. He told me I caught him right before he was about to step out. He welcomed me in and took care of me which I appreciated. He made me feel comfortable and made that process as painless as possible. I had been looking for a shop to get my tongue ring done for a while after I finally decided that get it in. This is my YOLO year so I was so excited. I went in and met Kay. She was so informative and friendly and was able to answer all of my questions. They have all types of promotions during the weekend and this weekend it was piercings for $20 (unfortunately, it didn't include tongue rings this time). I showed Kat my ID and filled out my paperwork. She explained the aftercare I would need to do and I waited for Big Tiny to be ready (he was working on someone before me). The shop was clean and organized. After about 15 minutes the client before me left and it was my turn. Big Tiny and his assistant were amazing. Everything was clean and sanitary. All the utensils were brand new and in packages unopened. He wore gloves and cleaned and examined my tongue before piercing it. He explained every step of the process. The worst part was waiting. Now the deets: the worst part is clamping your tongue. He places a cork under your tongue, lines up the needle, pierces the tongue, inserts the ring, and pulls it through I one fluid motivation. I really wanted to like this shop, especially being that it's black owned. I've been twice and both times I got a nostril piercing. My first nose piercing experience went good, it was a quick pinch and done. I got the standard jewelry which was a nose screw with a very small stud. A couple days after getting my piercing I noticed the jewelry was sinking into the hole and crusting over top. I had to keep pushing it up from the inside of my nose until one night it finally sunk too deep in so I took it out and replaced it with a extra nose stud my mother had. It was a holiday weekend so I would've had to wait about 3 days to go back to the shop but I never did. So I'm not sure if it healed properly because til this day it gives me little problems. My second experience at the shop was Memorial Day weekend I went with my best friend and we got nose piercings. I paid an extra $40 ($80) a piece for sterling silver nose screws because the gold options was limited and stainless steel does not agree with my body. So overall I paid $140. My best friends piercing came out within 3 weeks while she was asleep & I lost the top part to my nose screw while I was in the shower about 2 months later. I did have to tighten it up a couple times but I don't know how it got so loose to the point I didn't notice. I replaced it with a L shaped nose stud and it now has a pustule that's taking forever to go away. I feel like I wasted money but it's cool. I will definitely go to a tattoo shop from now on if I ever want another piercing. read more

Let me start off by saying that I am absolutely in love, I mean IN LOVEEEE with my new piercing that I got from Pierce Me. Not only was the process quick and painful, the employees of Pierce Me have the best personalities. Soooo, piercings and tattoos can always be a bit scary - especially if either is happening in a sensitive area...my friend knew someone who had a Pierce Me flyer so 3 of us decided to visit. I wanted my nipples pierced and the other 2 girls wanted a VCH piercing. We went on a Hump Day for happy hour, and even though that particular Wednesday there was no happy hour, per the fine print on IG that no one saw, Big Tiny was gracious enough to hook us up and make our long trip in rush hour worth it! We all had the best experience possible considering what we were done. Big Tiny was welcoming, warm, pleasant, and sensitive to our purpose for being there. I highly recommend Pierce Me not only for the service provided, but they have great specials as well! And a side note, my nipples look great and they're healing nicely. I really wanted to like PM, and I HATE giving negative reviews, but maybe I can save others pain and trouble. I excitedly went to PM for my first new piercings in years (#s 9-11, so not my first go at the piercing rodeo). I used a Groupxx voucher, but reviewed PM's site and reviews on social media first. Bit of a haul to get there, and the whole lingerie side-gig is a little off-putting (Huge fan of lingerie myself, but really?! Isn't the whole body piercing biz sufficient?), still, I bought the Groupon based on the shop's stellar reviews. Big Tiny was super nice and chatty (he definitely makes clients feel at ease), and yes, standard infection/transmission prevention steps were taken, for which I gave a star (although notably, other area salons go farther in individually documenting precise sterilization steps for each customer). In fact, a client returned to the shop because she forgot her bag just before Big Tiny started my piercings, and since he left the room to help her look -- re-exposing his hands to germs in the process -- he sterilized everything again and replaced his gloves when he returned to the piercing room. BUT, I cannot take those positives further than one star. The remainder of my association with PM was traumatic, and I strongly advise avoiding the place, at least for anything but the most basic of piercings. Initially, I called ahead to make sure the piercings I wanted were voucher-eligible & was told all was good. Problems started with the up-sell upon my arrival, 2 days after my call: note that (TIP #1) PM distinguishes between helix and forward helix piercings (despite my confirmation & PM's website info to the contrary), and surprise, forward helix piercings aren't voucher-eligible. Okay, I can handle that: I've been to piercing salons all over the US and overseas, shops label and price piercings differently, and Tiny attributed the confusion to new website staff who "know nothing about piercing locations", and applied my voucher to the full price of the piercings. More than I planned to spend, but Tiny's explanation made sense. Things went rapidly downhill from there, my fellow body modders. Despite a consult & assurances my requested piercings posed no difficulties for Tiny, the locations I requested on my ear were missed (despite being marked twice(!) with a pen), and I ended up with unevenly spaced piercings. I am not just nitpicking here, the piercings are seriously off. If you're still on the fence, consider that --much worse-- one of the piercings *MISSED MY CARTILAGE ENTIRELY*, I would later discover. Huh. Guess that explains why it bled profusely (at the time, Tiny assured me it was just a 'blood bubble'), something I'd never experienced with previous piercings. I also tried to ask several piercing care questions immediately after my piercing, and each time, Tiny stopped me and told me to refer to the standard sheet of instructions handed to every customer. When the 'tissue piercing' unsurprisingly rejected under the weight of the heavy, externally threaded barbells I was told were the only jewelry PM uses for initial piercings, I went to a highly regarded piercer a short drive from my neighborhood. Sooooo, after somehow managing to remove the rejected jewelry without ripping through what was left of my ear (not much), the second piercer, who discussed his experience with helix piercings at length, TIP #2, was able to replace PM's jewelry --what two different piercers had referred to as "cheap junk"-- with much better suited, internally threaded studs. I also was able to have my third hole re-pierced in the cartilage location I originally requested, seeing as how it was NOWHERE near PM's incorrect helix tissue piercing. Go figure. He also had me scrap 2 of the care instructions specifically directed by PM, as they were irritating and promoting infection. Yes, I had to pay full price for everything, again (oh, and though the single piercing price point was higher than PM's, there was no difference in helix piercings and other cartilage piercings at the other area salons I visited, save for industrials, which are complicated and can require special jewelry, but I digress), but all signs of infection have vanished. The re-piercing hurt less and has caused no problems whatsoever. What a difference good jewelry makes, folks (TIP #3). Of course, I have a scar from the misplaced piercing, but I guess that's my lesson learned (I'm sharing it with you, free of charge, pain, and scars, because that's who I am, y'all). If you still think PM's discounts are worth the risk (NO, but anyway), ask PM for pictures of the piercing you want, fully healed - not just freshly pierced, cute poses on social media (TIP #4). Specifically, ask how familiar Pierce Me is with the type of piercing you want. No doubt, the staff at PM is really friendly, but if you're interested in multiple/more complicated piercings, I advise, yet again, look elsewhere (final and most important tip)! read more

I got my piercing done here a while back when they were still in Iverson Mall. I was so frightened to get my nose pierced. I paid for my piercing online and had the courage to go in. As scared as I was, I did it. The guy who pierced my nose was teaching someone how to do it step by step. I was paying more attention to him than to the fact that I was about to let him stick a needle through my nose, LOL. He tricked me into thinking he wasn't about to pierce me just yet & BOOM! Okay, y'all, this time I can show you what I got done! I was debating to get one tragus piercing or both, but it's Big Tiny--so I went big for optimal result, minimal pain! I would describe this piercing as more "pressure" than "pain." I would rate it about a 3 on a scale between 1 through 10. The jewelry being secured is more of a sensation than getting the piercing itself. That, was about a 5 for me. My right tragus was my problem child from day one since my ears are not completely identical. It was a little more painful to the touch and bled after being knocked on the first day. I've had to clean it more and give it a little more TLC (tender love & care) than my left. I have had to learn my way back to earphones, but that's the only major change of my new additions. Two weeks later after moving the bars around to "train" the piercings (this is all in my head, but it was a successful method and I'll do this from now on, haha), they are pain-free and super cute!
