I have wanted this tattoo for nearly 20 years and just never did it. At 58 years young and after experiencing some major life upheaval and realizing myself and my family had been through so much I decided it was time to do the things I wanted. After all life is short. The original dragon fly was done in Florida and while I love it, and had my vision, when I got home I decided I wanted al little more. That's where Tressa came in and made my vision come to love. She was so friendly, kind and I was relaxed, at ease and enjoyed the experience with her. I have already planned my next one! I should also add that after I had my original done my husband asked me to design a family tattoo for him, together we came up with his and I will add the photo below. Nicole was his artist and she incorporated the butterfly from mine into his. before my husband left she had our full story and shared some of her own. What makes it all interesting is there are tons of things in common and he left feeling great. Almost like getting therapy while being inked. My next one will match his with different colors. i originally planned to get a piercing here and paid the deposit. Now in no way am I expecting them to accommodate that I had an earlier availability. But when i realized I could move up the appointment getting in contact with this studio was atrocious. I called two separate times, texted. Just nothing or no acknowledgment of receipt. Deposit is non refundable so I will simply bite the bullet and lose that money as the whole vibe of the shop is off putting due to lack of communication. TERRIBLE TATTOO, TERRIBLE COVER UP. It's not much but its something. 3rd time getting this worked on, 2nd time covering it & touching it up. Soldier looks wonky but it is legible. Before it was spelled wrong & faded, 2nd time touching it up & covering up the mispelling still faded & jacked up looking. Final tattoo done By Jackie the owner of Pretty in Ink. Original tattoo done By Rosa the first time & second time. Also Rosa told me she was the only one who could fix it but apparently that was a lie so then I went in a 3rd time for Jackie to do it. Obviously very unhappy but she wouldn't do anything else for me. Also this is not how I asked her to fix it, but she said any other way. She would charge me more, and I was already charged $700 for this plus $140 tip I had left before realizing the mistakes. Very disappointed cause the font is completely different than what I wanted, letters look wonky, & this is a PTSD tattoo for me so now I have PTSD from my tattoo. I have been social media stalking Pretty In Ink for at least a year. I've been wanting to get my nose pierced since my birthday in April of 2020. As we all know, we were in shutdown around that time due to the COVID-19 pandemic, do getting my piercing done at that time wasn't happening. Eventually, the thought of getting it done went to the back of my mind. Fast forward to about a year ago when I came across Pretty In Ink on social media. From looking at their page and seeing that it's a woman-owned business, I knew I wanted to visit the shop one day. I would like to get a tattoo one day, but let's take baby steps here. After a rocky start to 2023, I finally found the time to schedule my appointment. Semaj is the artist who does the piercings. The online booking process was pretty easy. They require you to pay a deposit when booking. Prior to your appointment, you'll receive a waiver form to complete before you arrive. Once I arrived, I was ready to go. I was nervous but Semaj assured me that I would be fine. And guess what? I was! The process was pretty quick, and it honestly didn't hurt as bad as I thought it would. Afterwards, I received tips on how to care for my piercing as it heals. I checked out by paying the rest of my balance and I was out the door. I was probably in and out in less than 15 minutes. I look forward to returning to get a tattoo. I'm getting ready to relocate soon, but I plan on returning to make visits to the area. read more

I've had everything from my breasts, spine to legs done here and they were always respectful and considerate from covering me up to using pillows and adjustable chairs to prop whatever was being tattooed up while ensuring I was comfy. Jackie the owner is a sweetheart and has even stayed sometimes to keep myself and Tressa company while I've gotten tattooed. They have monthly specials and I especially like that there are certain times of the year where they award a winner a mastectomy scar cover up. Pain used to be a badge of honor with tattoos but no more. They offer medical grade numbing cream as an add on to any service. Tae did an okay job. I provided the picture, she missed most of the detail and the tattoo was a lot smaller than the picture and dimensions we agreed to. The main gripe is that I payed $600 for a 45 minute tattoo (I even tipped $100). I waited 25 years to cover spinal fusion scar and searched the entire DMV for a tattoo artist who I could trust to not only cover the scar but design something that is tasteful and I could be proud of. I am so thankful that I found Jackie. She was soooooo patient with me (didn't have a clue to what I wanted) and communicated with me via email throughout the entire design and sketch. I had an amazing experience at Pretty in Ink. Jackie helped me with my design via the online consultation process. Prior to my appointment a sketch was sent to me my email for my review and approval. The location was easy to find considering you receive a reminder email a few days before your appointment with directions and instructions. When I walked in I immediately felt relaxed and welcome. Jackie had soft music playing in the background and greeted me by name. She offered water and complimentary healthy snacks. The shop is adorned in pink with pops of bling. Perfect for any girly girl. However, not over the top for potential male clients. I completed my paperwork upon arrival and we began to start. I've had several tattoos by different artists but this was my favorite experience by far. Although I feel I have decent threshold for pain I feel her hands we very gentle while tattooing. She asked my comfort level and allowed me to stretch and take breaks as needs. My appointment started right on time and finished close to the 3 hour window quoted. During the process Jackie talked to me and was very professional, motivating, and uplifting. I had a cover up tattoo done. She took a prior tattoo I absolutely hated and turned it into something I love. She will have a forever client with me. You get what you pay for. I've gotten 3 tattoos from Pretty in Ink and most of my experiences have been great! I do Love the atmosphere, and the ambience it is very pro girl/ feministic vibes. The only issue I have is the whole online consultation process and inconsistent pricing structure. In order to get a quote you have to know the exact size dimensions of your idea. But as a visual person this isn't the best method. Maybe this works for other people but it's hard to visualize the exact size of something I can't actually see. And trust if you don't know the exact size or decide to make any changes after booking, you will be scolded. This happened to me with my first tattoo from here. Yet I decided to give it another try. So then there is the pricing and yes everyone should be paid for their talent however the prices are a bit inconsistent and a bit over priced, in my opinion. I paid $225 for the wording tattoo pictured. Just the wording, nothing elaborate, one sentence, the appointment lasted maybe 30mins if that. I paid a total of $300+ with the numbing creme that costs $80. They pay $80 per bottle so you have to pay $80 for the amount they use on you, no matter how little amount is used. I knew I could get this very simple tattoo cheaper but it was a tribute to my mom and I did like the ambiance, and from what I could see they do great work. Where I'm confused is I got a quote for a much smaller tattoo, two small minimalist flowers. No wording, no color, half the size. Quote was $250?? read more
