Donna in financial services was outstanding in helped us understand the financial situation. She deserved employee of the year. Dr. Kristine Danner is the most knowledgeable Dr. I've ever meet. She is friendly but professional. She cares about how the patient is doing overall. She covers all the possibilities of the issue and all the possi bilities of treatment. outstanding hospital and always my first choice! i have always been treated with dignity, respect,…read more and gotten excellent care, from their ER in particular. more than once, i have left mercy medical center' in Sioux city and gone to St. Luke's due to long waits, or wrong diagnosis (missed appendicitis and telling me it's the FLU? really?) i am impressed with everything about the ER department. you walk directly into the department to an actual desk (not someone behind a plate glass window) and the staff shows concern. they never seem "bothered" when someone asks a nurse a question, they just answer it and then gently direct them to the waiting room wait times are reasonable as far as a hospital waiting rooms go. professional and thorough treatment from all the staff. i recommend st. luke's hospital to anyone who visits Sioux city.

I am quite disabled diagnosed in 1973 w/RA. 50+ yrs later it didn't get better. In fact now I have painful neuropathy in my right side, need a knee replacement for a year. The pain can be excruciating. I can't work. I applied for financial aid in September. I had computer issues which has caused me to reapply because that's what Tracey said. I did but there's a document from the SD DSS that I need to get my application completed. Penny at the State tells me I don't need when I called. I told her that Tracey is anal retentive & insists. Well Penny didn't send it she sent me a new application There's a urgency to get some medical care & financial aid. Tracey apparently can spend 10 minutes on the phone with me telling me how she can't/won't call Penny & ask her to fax the document that would have taken 4 minutes. I understand that Dunes has been hit with a 12.7 mil judgement and probably shouldn't be approving financial aid. Tracey your lack of compassion & BS has led me to write this review. I have a lot of fluid in my legs and abdomen because I have liver disease. And my thighs are really…read more'chubby' because of the fluid so when I started to develop what I called 'bruises' all over my thighs and stomach (excess skin from losing 130lbs semi-recently) I just figured the bruises formed because my legs rubbing against each other. I went to show my regular doctor and she was really concerned so she referred me to a dermatologist since I didn't have one already. Dr. Grote took a look and was a little surprised/confused himself on what was on my legs, so we took a biopsy in two spots to get checked out. Aside of the pain from the rash (as it's now being referred to as) they biopsy didn't show cancer or anything else I should be super worried about, except both doctors here have no idea what this rash is. So they're sending me to Omaha to figure out what it is. So yeah, this clinic doesn't have the resources it needs for me, but I consider sending me to a specialist good practice because it proves the doctors care and want me to be well. (I just really want the pain.) Dr. Grote couldn't prescribe me anything because of my liver disease. The clinic is clean, the receptionist women are super nice and one of the nurses even gave me a bunch of good bandages to help me keep my stitches clean. (From the biopsy.) If I ever come across the need for a dermatologist again, I'll be heading to this clinic first.

I have been renewing her meds at her yearly physical since she started receiving treatment seven years ago. He stated that this was a new "rule" and the dea will come after him if we don't see a psychologist for her meds. I have been an RN for over 30 years and never heard such a load of BS. After asking around, I hear that this is just his personal policy. This was a total waste of our time. We waited for an hour to see him. The "exam" was questionable. He barely looked at her, asked very few questions. Mostly he seemed annoyed and very uneasy around my 15 year old daughter. If she is too close to adulthood to see a pediatrician then tell us when we are making the appointment. This clinic is just sad and depressing-- the waiting room is like the DMV. You would never guess that this is a place for children. Sad, sub-par care in a crappy, dirty little office with cheap plastic chairs.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD TO PRAIRIE PEDIATRICS!!…read more Two years ago today my wife and I lost our only child, our son Cameron Condon. He was almost two and half years old at the time of his death. Unfortunately Cameron was a patient of Prairie Pediatrics since he was born in January of 2013. His primary "doctor" at Prairie Pediatrics was Eyad Najdawi. Right around his second birthday (January 2015) Cameron vomited for no apparent reason. A phone call and visit to Prairie Pediatrics didn't find anything abnormal and they thought it might just be a bug. Cameron continued vomiting, more frequently, over the next few weeks. Continued calls and visits fell upon deaf ears. First, they thought Cameron had allergies. Then they thought it was reflux but even after weeks of daily vomiting they failed to refer him to one of the GI specialist that regularly visited the clinic. When we even suggested that we should look at his head because he had recently fallen down some stairs at his daycare we were met with resistance and reassured that a head CT scan would be a waste of money!! Cameron continued to vomit more and more frequently and he was becoming more and more irritable and inconsolable. After our countless phone calls and visits we finally decided that we could no longer follow Prairie Pediatrics directives to do nothing, we took Cameron to the hospital and insisted a head CT scan be completed. Within minutes they discovered a very dangerous, painful, and if left untreated often deadly situation, pressure from Cameron's spinal fluid had built up and was causing a condition known as hydrocephalus or a build up of fluid in the brain. Within an hour we were on our way to the Children's hospital in Sioux Falls to see specialists. In approximately a two month span, despite over 30 phone calls back and forth and 6 office visits to Prairie Pediatrics none of their doctors could recognize the textbook symptoms of hydrocephalus. This condition is not rare, affecting approximately 1 in every 1,000 children! The fix for hydrocephalus is a routine procedure where they implant a shunt to help relieve the pressure on the brain. Increasing pressure in the brain will cause vomiting, nausea, irritability, and severe pain!! Once in Sioux Falls we discovered that Cameron's hydrocephalus was being caused by a large tumor near his brain stem. The biopsy results came back that he had AT/RT (a very rare form of brain cancer). After multiple brain surgeries, chemotherapy, CT scans, countless pokes with needles and everything else that no child should ever have to endure, Cameron died on June 16th, 2015. Najdawi and the entire staff at Prairie Pediatrics should be ashamed of how those involved in Cameron's care handled this situation. Cameron went through unnecessary severe pain and suffering because multiple members of their team were too stubborn to possibly explore other causes of a symptom that kept presenting itself over and over! The hydrocephalus could have been fixed regardless of whether or not the cancer kept progressing. His brain cancer had already metastasized by the time we were finally able to get a diagnosis. If we had found it sooner there is a chance he would still be here with us today. In the two years since his death we have heard from all of his caregivers .....except Prairie Pediatrics....not one word, not one sorry for your loss, not one sympathy card, not one apology for failing to provide Cameron with basic medical help, NOTHING!!! I know acknowledging the transgression would require the company and doctors to feel sympathy, compassion, and maybe even a sense of responsibility, none of which Prairie Pediatrics or Najdawi displayed!! After seeing the sheer amount of wanton disregard for Cameron's health and well being from Najdawi and multiple members of Prairie Pediatric's team along with the extreme disrespect and lack of sympathy with his death, I beg you, for your own piece of mind as well as your child's well-being, to reconsider taking your child to this place!!
