Didn't want a rose as we know it, so Chris did this desert rose for me. And, I couldn't be happier. Let's start with the place! Chris's shop is incredibly clean and fun. The walls are covered in new, in the box, characters from WWE, Scooby Doo, Simpsons and a bunch others. There's also beautiful skateboard decks and canvases he's painted. If you get bored there are classic pinball machines. He played really diverse music covering lots styles. It was loud enough but it was easy to chat. I was really impressed by the professional front desk girl. She gave her undivided attention until she was finished and then she went back to reading a book...reading?! Wow! She was great. About Chris: His workstation...CLEAN AND ORGANIZED. He wore gloves and changes mid tattoo when he needed. He opened sealed/sterilized needles in front of me. Other thing I sooooo appreciated is his gentle touch. Needles stabbing you sucks, but when it came down to whipping excess ink and fluid's away he was very gentle. He was very thorough talking about aftercare. Outside of the tattoo, he is an excellent conversationalist...quiet at times, attentive, and opinionated (in the right way). I'm working on a One Piece-inspired Japanese style dragon sleeve, and his knowledge of traditional Japanese tattooing really shows in every detail. When we were designing the piece, he even went out of his way to watch episodes of One Piece so he could really understand the vibe and bring the right energy into the design. That level of dedication meant a lot to me. Throughout the appointment, he explained every step of the process so I always felt comfortable and knew what was happening next. The shop in Springfield off Q Street is always clean, welcoming, and has great music playing, which makes the whole experience even better. The sleeve isn't finished yet, but it already looks amazing, and I'm beyond excited to keep working with Illya to complete it. I still think of this building as their "new location" even though they've been here at least 15 years. Almost everyone I know has gotten a piercing from here, or multiple, including myself, and we've been going since the late 90s. My experience has been pretty good with all the piercers I've had over the years. My most recent piercing here was yesterday when I got my daith pierced. This is one that was a little more painful than some of the others, though not super painful; perhaps close to when I had my navel done. But I think any added pain was because it's going through two parts of the ear instead of just a single poke and done. The staff here is pretty good. They're very friendly and generally pretty helpful in helping you select jewelry, though you may need to ask them to show you all of the jewelry that would work for your selected piercing; I'm not sure why, but they always seem to show me just one or two displays until I tell them to just show me everything that works for the piercing. Their selection of jewelry has significantly improved in the last few years; they've moved past just the hoop with captive bead ring to more high end pieces like stuff from BVLA. That also means that things can get expensive depending upon the jewelry you want. The piercing itself only cost $35, but of course you need to buy the jewelry separately. So far so good; my newest piercing is doing well and looks great. I'm very pleased with it and look forward to coming back again sometime for my next one. This location has a few parking spaces, including a disabled space right in front of the door, but I've never really had a problem parking when I've come here.

She messaged asking for any tips to help with the excessive swelling. Her barbell seemed too short and the end was popping into her belly where the piercing hole was. We waited and no message was returned. I then sent a photo along with a message. Politely asking for advice. "Hi! Saturday my daughters and I got our belly buttons pierced. 2 of us are doing great but one of my daughters is having some issues. Could you please advice me what to do. She is cleaning it 3 times a day then drying with the hair dryer. After practice today the top end portion of the piercing had sunk into the hole and had a thin layer of ooze over it. She is worried about the hole becoming too big since it easily sinks into it currently. " It has been a week and a half with no response to either of our messages. Disappointing to have been ghosted by our piercing artist. I would not recommend because of the lack of follow up care.

If you want a piercing go to a piercing shop where they are liscenced to pierce.
