If you're looking for the BBQ dive style restaurant shack then this is your place. Walking up I…read morecould tell this was going to be a fun place but it also had amazing BBQ. There is so much space in the front with cornhole boards or just to hang out. When we walked In I could tell this was going to be amazing BBQ. Writing on the walls and chairs, menus board hanging on the wall and daily specials written on chalk boards. Or orders were quickly taken by a very efficient hostess the. We grabbed a seat. I ordered brisket and pork with collards and cobbler. My wife ordered the same with the grits and my son had the side of Mac and cheese with his brisket. The brisket slices were think and it was really well cooked. The pork was awesome but the sides were out of this world. Every single one of them was perfect. There were four BBQ sauces to choose from, Eastern NC style, hot, mild and mustard. I am not a huge fan of mustard BBQ (I'm from NC, IYKYK) but I'll say this was the best I had. The hot was my favorite and it had just the right amount of heat. For those that may be concerned about the description of the writing on the walls and divey spot don't be. The place was clean and very nice. The health rating was great and it was a really nice place.

Never disappoints!! The meat and sides are legit bbq. Nice smoke flavor, delicious sauce and juicy…read moremeat they get every side right too!! The sweet tea is spot on too. Not overly sweet, but you can taste tea. This place rocks! Our server was great and I like how you fill out your charge receipt AFTER you eat so you can tip the servers appropriately. Can't wait for summer and enjoying the massive outdoor space too

Lewis Barbecue was hands down the highlight of our trip. From start to finish, this place delivers…read more Service, atmosphere, food, and overall experience were all excellent. Right away, the service stands out. We were greeted and immediately offered a sample of brisket, which set the tone. The staff were super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, and the ordering process has a really smooth, well thought out flow that keeps things moving without feeling rushed. We sat on the covered patio, which was clean, comfortable, and a great place to enjoy a meal. Now, the food. This is where it really shines. I'm a bit of a BBQ aficionado, so I'll be a little nitpicky, but none of this takes away from how great it was overall. The brisket was phenomenal. We tried both lean and fatty--both were excellent. If I had to critique anything, it leaned slightly salty, but the bark, smoke, and overall flavor were outstanding. The pulled pork was just as impressive. Tener, moist, and packed with flavor, with no wasted bits. The Texas sausage was incredibly flavorful, though slightly on the mealy side texturally. That said, the green chile cheddar sausage was an absolute standout. Loaded with flavor, chiles, and cheese. A must-order. The sides were the only area that didn't quite keep pace with the meats. The beans were a bit undercooked and lacking depth of flavor. The slaw was fresh and well-balanced, but not particularly memorable. The corn pudding was solid, but again, nothing that stood out. The sauces also deserve some recognition. All four were fantastic, each with its own unique profile. Honestly, I could've just sat there sampling them on their own. They paired perfectly with different meats and added another layer to the experience. Overall, this is an incredible BBQ spot. While it may not quite reach the level of some top tier Texas joints, it absolutely rivals them and stands out as one of the best you'll find outside of Texas.

The rolls were hot right out of the oven, light and fluffy almost like a krispy cream donut without the frosting. Waitress came around fast for refills on our drinks. I really liked the fried chicken. The batter was light yet crispy. Really good! They had ham as well and that was good too. Pretty good size buffet. Lots of veggies to choose from as well as hot dishes. You could find something even if you were picky. The Mac and cheese has to be mentioned it was no box mix! Just like Mom made , cheesy goodness!! When your done eating they had a peach cobbler that looked homemade as well as ice cream in a machine, no fake ice cream either! Creamy and delicious!! We will for sure take a ride over again sometime. Its approx a hour and a half away.

Both the chop and thigh were overcooked. The pinto and green beans were good. This round gets a 6 out of 10. My next plate consists of fried flounder, baked chicken , white rice with white gravy, and cabbage. The flounder was good and hot. The chicken was a little undercooked and lacked seasoning. The cabbage was good. My aunt was right about rice; it wasn't even close to being done. This round, I give a 5 out of 10, mainly because of the rice. And last of all, their fatback was way too salty!!! And I love me some fatback. Overall, I give Pops 2 STARS with the potential to get better.
