We sat on the covered patio, which was clean, comfortable, and a great place to enjoy a meal. Now, the food. This is where it really shines. I'm a bit of a BBQ aficionado, so I'll be a little nitpicky, but none of this takes away from how great it was overall. The brisket was phenomenal. We tried both lean and fatty--both were excellent. If I had to critique anything, it leaned slightly salty, but the bark, smoke, and overall flavor were outstanding. The pulled pork was just as impressive. Tener, moist, and packed with flavor, with no wasted bits. The Texas sausage was incredibly flavorful, though slightly on the mealy side texturally. That said, the green chile cheddar sausage was an absolute standout. Loaded with flavor, chiles, and cheese. A must-order. The sides were the only area that didn't quite keep pace with the meats. The beans were a bit undercooked and lacking depth of flavor. The slaw was fresh and well-balanced, but not particularly memorable. The corn pudding was solid, but again, nothing that stood out. The sauces also deserve some recognition. All four were fantastic, each with its own unique profile. Honestly, I could've just sat there sampling them on their own. They paired perfectly with different meats and added another layer to the experience. Overall, this is an incredible BBQ spot. While it may not quite reach the level of some top tier Texas joints, it absolutely rivals them and stands out as one of the best you'll find outside of Texas.

The crust was so good. The meat didn't quite fall off the bone but was still delicious! The fries were also perfectly crispy, hot, and balanced out the bbq well. They have plenty of seating bunch of picnic tables outside and quite a few tables inside. They also have a bar inside. I got the Patty Melt with Mac n cheese and it was delicious! My hubby got the pulled pork sandwich with the white slaw on the side and fries. He said it was divine! We also got the hush puppies as an appetizer and ate them with our meal. The hush puppies come with their own tartar sauce that they make and it is so good! We loved this place and will definitely make it our "date place" and try everything on the menu.

The atmosphere here is great, down to earth, and always busy. They don't take reservations either. You just have to show up and make sure you get there early because once the bbq is gone that's it. Honestly I'm not a fan of their style of sauce but many others are. However I did try the deviled egg sandwich today and it was outstanding, I really need to order 2 next time! The waitress recommended adding bacon and I also added onions because I'm a fan of them. The combination made for a hearty sandwich that hit the spot. Be prepared though that you'll get tiny paper plates for your food. But there are plenty of napkins. Get to Bridges and experience this iconic Shelby BBQ!!
