Buddy Bear is no "Buddy" to smaller-sized travel trailers…read more I recently stayed 3 nights (Dec 27 - Dec 30) at Buddy Bear RV Campground and was very disappointed with what transpired. I booked my stay from their webpage and received a confirmation email on December 15th for Site #4 which is the one I reserved. Site #4 is a premium site according to the website and it costs a bit more than a regular site. My fiancée and I wanted to stay along the river and at the time that was the only site available along the river. The day I arrived for my stay, Dec 27th, I received an email at 12:37 PM, So around check-in time, stating I was moved to site #21 which is a regular site and not along the river. It is also not large enough for a travel trailer and the towing vehicle to park in. I asked the manager lady why I was moved to a different site and was met with the following responses: "We try to put smaller campers in the smaller sites and save the bigger ones for potential larger campers to rent out." "It's a very common thing, we've been doing this for 30 years and you guys are new campers you'll see." "Park your vehicle over behind the dumpsters if it won't fit at your new smaller site." "The river is still close by as it's just across the street." "You should lock in the site if you want it that bad but it will cost extra." (There isn't an option on the website to Lock-In a site) Someone was already residing in site #4 upon my arrival, I can only conclude they extended their stay and the managers or owners didn't want to move them and figured it would be easier to move me. When we asked for a refund of the difference between the premium site and the regular site I was informed there were no refunds. I also asked to be moved to a different site along the river as there were 5 available at the time of my arrival. The site's 5/7/9/10/11 were all available still and along the river. I was informed that they were all booked up for the holidays and there was nowhere else to put me. Once we kept asking for the refund difference, ONLY THEN, did a premium site magically become available for use. Site #18 is not by the river but at least a large spot for my travel camper and tow vehicle. They had to inform the tenant on site #17 to move his extra vehicles from the site so I could use it. To be clear, they were going to put me in a smaller site, and not give me a refund of the difference before telling someone else to move their extra vehicles from a site they weren't paying for. At the end of the day, I stayed in a "premium site" although it wasn't near the river like I wanted. But we are at least even financially. The morning I was packing up my travel trailer to depart, DEC 30, I took another lap around and wouldn't you know, Premium Site #9 along the river was never booked or used from the moment I showed up until the moment I left. This means they lied about being "completely booked up for the Holidays" We will never be staying here again. My Mother and her Husband won't be, my fiancée and her family won't be either, nor will some of my Army buddies when we take group trips in our campers. From now on we will be staying at Ripplin Waters, it's $57.50 a night there or $60 during holidays so also more budget-friendly! They have over 150 sites with more than 40 along the river. Best of all THEY WON'T MOVE YOU TO ANOTHER SITE OR DISCRIMINATE BASED ON THE SIZE OF YOUR CAMPER.

I think the name has changed to Buddy Bear and currently they are short staffed so everything like…read morecheck in is done virtual and with a code for the gate. I enjoyed this campground because it's by the river, small, quiet, and away from all the chaos of pigeon forge. However it's close enough to get to amenities and tourist areas if desired.

The lake levels were well below their normal levels but it was all still pretty. Not bad to get to from Kodak, Sevierville or PF (we took our UTV into town instead of taking the dual trucks into town. They have cable but it is not strong and the words don't always match up with their mouths. They do not offer cable wires to rent, but you can buy them there. (we bought ours at Walmart). The washer and dryers are $2 a load. They do not have soap or change machine in the laundry room. They do have change at the front office, not sure if they have soap or dryer sheets to buy. They have a dog park, swimming pool and a beach (did not use in November). But they looked great. The sites were expensive but the property was very well maintained and very clean. We would return but it might be cheaper to get an airbnb (depending on how long you are staying) with another couple and split the costs of a cabin.

It's a huge park, recommend a bike or you can rent a golf cart if they are available. Opportunities for improvement - more seating by lake, more umbrellas and shade by the pool (people saving the limited seating / shading all day and not using it was super rude), more restrooms/showers conveniently located, the food option was not great, small spaces. None the less we'd stay again given these lessons learned.

I think that so far this has been my favorite RV park, we've been traveling and living in our RV so…read morewe've had the chance to explore some parks. This park has very nice spots, and the premium ones are amazing (we just saw them, they were kinda of pricey for our budget), they also have an arcade, a lazy river, a kiddos' pool and a small splash pad, they also offer a gym and laundromat, and for the furry babies they have a "bark park", and a doggie wash. Te lazy river is very nice, is heated and has the right size to just chill out, the children's pool is cold, but I guess is good for the little ones to refresh in it, I didn't go to the spa but I saw people relaxing in there, and there's also an adult pool, but you could see kids in there as well, my son had a blast. The laundromat has really good prices compared to other ones I have seen and been to, and I loved the gym, it's very well equipped and it was empty, so I was able to use whatever I wanted, they also have cleaners for the equipment and a very good size TV, just bring your water because they don't have a water dispenser in there. We didn't use the arcade, but it looked very nice with a lot of games in there, they also have a playground that is shaded by a beautiful tree, and during the weekends an ice cream bus comes to visit. The doggie wash was amazing, and its real cheap, just $10, I even think my doggies enjoyed it, the dryer needs more time, but you can add money for that. Overall our experience was great, it's located in a great area where pretty much everything is close by, I definitely want to come back.

I cannot walk to my camper door without walking through 6 inches of water, much less sit outside and enjoy an evening of camping with my kids and dogs. I called to talk to the front desk and they said it will recede. Seriously? None of the sites around us have standing water. This site has a drainage issues and it needs to be fixed before someone else has to suffer through staying here. Do not stay on site 82.
