Love this childhood friendly store chain! I grew up in between Ohio and Alabama--my folks roots are in Bama. So every summer that we went "home" to the South, we frequently went to Piggly Wiggly grocery store! It was the only grocery store in town for miles around. I was actually surprised to see one in the Myrtle Beach area so I definitely made a pit-stop while visiting the beach! Great customer service, friendly service staff, and very fresh fruit selections. Piggly Wiggly! Did you know Piggly Wiggly was the first grocery store as we know them today? Prior to Piggly Wiggly you had to go to the bread store, butcher, farmers market, etc. to buy your groceries. They brought it all under the same roof. I truly appreciate the history behind this chain. This place in particular is clean and nice. The staff is friendly. My only knock is pricing. I realize I'm in a "tourist" area, but it was more pricey than the HT I frequent at home. read more

Awesome place! The local kombucha and the ginger beer are exquisite and the staff is extremely kind and helpful.

Speaking as a local, this store has everything priced up too high, a low selection, and unorganized. I know many tourists go there due to the good location but with a new Neighborhood Walmart down the street, it is better to go there to get more and spend less. read more

I am shocked that I'm actually writing a review for a grocery store, but alas I've hit a new low. The staff is extremely courteous including the older gentleman (I'm assuming the general manager because he helped locate an item and gave clearance to the cashier to give me a discounted price for said item). The store was extremely clean and organized and as someone who's coming from out of town, I really enjoyed how easily things were to locate (you'd be surprised). A friend and I ordered boars head tray with cheese and it was just fabulous, and our guests were so p,eased, it was so fresh and tasty. We also ordered a fruit platter, and they paid such attention to quality,it was just very fresh and we couldn't be more thankful. Piggly Wiggly will for sure, always be my first choice. I just visited this piggly wiggly with my boyfriend, younger brother and his girlfriend. The older blonde lady at the register was completely rude. I was purchasing alcohol for me and my boyfriend who are both over 21 and she was questioning us that we were getting it for my sibling under 21. I told her that I was not, not that it was her place to judge anyways- that we were responsible adults. She was COMPLETELY out of line and should be confronted. Especially seeing that other people have left negative reviews about the same woman... CRAZY read more

I found piggly to be expensive but they did indeed have everything I needed for my stay.

Quick and friendly staff. They have what we need for our week stay. Pricing is in line with other local grocery stores.

older lady with blonde hair and glasses at register #1 on june 23rd 2020 was the most rude and petty women i've ever met. She made comments about how my sister and i "barely made it" before the store closed -yes we did come 10 minutes before the store closed, however we knew exactly what we wanted and where it was, and were at the register 5 minutes before close/10. She was also very rude to the two women behind us, "shame on you for making me stay this late", which the store was not even closed yet. These women then felt the need to explain themselves that they had 2 babies at home and this was the only time they could shop. Do not work a closing shift if you are going to be rude, and disrespectful for absolutely no reason all because you don't want to stay possibly 5-10 min past your shift when people are allowed in the store until 10 anyway. I've worked in retail a ton so i am familiar with this happening and was not rude to my customers because i knew that it was my job. Also, Just because you are older than me, does not make it okay to be disrespectful and rude to me. And as a local, i will not be returning nor recommending this piggly wiggly location. read more

Tourist filled which is annoying but expected (especially since my family was also visiting). We also went on a Saturday night when everyone was arriving for vacation and doing their grocery shopping, so it was super busy. Got everything we needed for a week at the beach.
