Went in to Public's this evening to get some dinner. Picked up the food & went through the checkout. Had a young man named Cody checking me out. Rushes to check me out--Sunday evening, not busy. I put in my phone number and it was the wrong number. I told him I need to try another number. He proceeds to tell me he can't do it and rings up my groceries without changing my number. I told him I wanted to input the right number in. He proceeds to tell me I've got to go the main desk to get my number applied. He made no attempt to get help and learn how to make the change. I had to take my food to the front desk. Eventually got the right number in at the front desk 15 minutes later and saved about $3.50 because of being a frequent buyer. Just to add something else there was an older couple in front of me and when he gave them their change back, there were penny's involved. He ran out. He made no effort to call someone to get change he just asked them if they cared. They said no but he shouldn't have even asked. Look this kid seemed arrogant and like he didn't care. He should never be working a checkout. He'd be better off stocking shelves!! He needs better training. Very sad that hasn't been trained better. Disappointed. read more

Healthier Food is usually always in stock. Always liked Publix!!! :) As well as my family. Always a pleasant experience. Clean and looks nice. People are very helpful just wish they sold more Local Farmers USDA ORGANIC NON GMO Produce. A large variety would be AMAZING!!! read more

Whenever I'm in town for work I always stop by. I usually always encounter these 3 lovely ladies at check out and they're so sweet and have great conversation. Live this Publix. More than my own in my home town. It's very clean and the music isn't too loud. The food is always fresh. read more

Many times when I go to the Publix in Pawleys Island, I will pick up a rotisserie chicken. I love this store. It's always clean, well stocked and the staff is awesome. The last three times I have picked up a chicken, they have been undercooked . I addressed this with the deli manager the two times prior to this chicken below in the picture. For whatever reason, they can't or choose not to address the cooking time of the undercooked near bleeding chicken. It affects the taste and it's visually NOT appealing so this is the last one I will buy and it's going in the garbage AGAIN. What a waste. A total of almost $30 it took me to learn my lesson. I need to preface this by saying that I suffer severe back pain and use the electric scooter when I shop. I am extremely grateful that this store provides this scooter/cart. I've been to other Publix before and love to shop there, so here is my Pawleys Island experience in a Readers Digest version: I was greeted at the door by a smiling faced woman, who provided me a flyer. I shopped through the bakery and floral departments and came to the deli. I asked for several cold cuts and the woman came out around the counter to hand them to me, so I didn't have to stand and stretch. How thoughtful, I thought. Meanwhile another counterwoman began to talk to me about cheeses. I asked if they had sliced Jarlsberg, which they did not, but she told me, even showed me where they sell the wedges. I asked if they could be sliced and she didn't think so, but would check with her manager. The manager allowed it, so I had two women waiting on me and both carried out to me my cold cuts and cheese. I entered the produce department and went to pick up some fresh cut pineapple. The woman behind the counter suggested that the cored pineapple was half the price and I can just cut it myself. Wow, that was really nice, so I picked up one. The grocery aisles were well laid out, with a huge assortment of groceries. One thing I was looking for was Duncan Hines Angel Food Cake Mix, which they did not have. Ok. I went to the meat section, and although their meat may be a little more expensive than other markets, it is so worth the price for the quality of meat. I had no staff interaction there or anywhere else through the store. I purchased all I needed and my back pain became intolerable. I bit the bullet and headed to the register. I began to put my groceries on the counter and must have made some grunts or something. There was a woman ahead of me online checking out and I wasn't paying attention to anything. I continued to put my groceries on the counter and this woman appeared out of no where and began to load my groceries on the conveyor. The smiling cashier asked me how I was and I replied, "I've been better, my back is hurting me". She was as pleasant as can be, meanwhile the other woman began packing my bags and putting them into a buggy. I thought to myself, I'd have to stand and walk back to my buggy. I paid for my items and I said to the cashier, I'll have to put away the electric cart first, suddenly a third woman appeared and said she will take out my groceries and load my car. Also will return the electric cart to its proper location. This is the most accommodating grocery store I have ever been in. I feel like I was treated like royalty. I wish they would open a Publix in the northern end of Murrells Inlet. I always loved Publix, but I love this store more than I can remember. I'll be back. read more

Bravo to Publix during these Covid19 times. I was worried to do the shopping for my elderly parents, one terminally ill. I was impressed with how organized their obvious efforts were to keep us all safe. The staff is very friendly and some go above and beyond. Thank you Publix. read more

We live in Pawleys Island and find Publix to be a frustrating experience. They have this way of always putting the sale signs in the wrong place and under the wrong product and I am convinced they do it on purpose so you pick up the wrong item, wait in line and then either you don't catch it or you do, and then hold up the line for a price check. If they carry 3 brands of bagged salads they will mix them all together rather than have them separated by brands, the "sale" items are mixed in and you pick up the wrong ones. Also, they used to have a good deli counter, but now it's slow and dirty. Last time I bought sliced turkey it was either very old, or very dirty because everyone who ate it that night got sick. We now avoid the deli which was frustratingly slow in the best case, and not well managed. Used to love the bakery but this week we bought a Cabala Bread and there was bug in it. read more

I was having trouble finding an item, and my leg was bothering me, so I decided to cut my losses and check out. The cashier asked "did you find everything okay?". I answered "mostly". He asked what item(s) I had been unable to find, I told him I was looking for Just Birthday Cake. I explained that it wasn't a big deal, I'd been wanting to try it, but hadn't found anywhere that had it in stock. He offered to show me where it was, I thanked him, but told him it wasn't necessary, I wanted to get off of my leg. He insisted on retrieving the item for me. I really appreciated his extra effort. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, I've always had good experiences with Publix. Oh, and the Just Birthday Cake was worth the wait. read more

This is a nice store with polite employees. However, beware of their promotions - they are very confusing to everyone. Today I bought exactly what was specified in the add for a free rotisserie chicken but was charged. After complaining, lots of shuffling around with the end result of being overcharged. After sorting it out, I had to drive back for my $7. About half the time, something goes wrong with their "free" promotions. Happens enough that we only shop at Publix about half as often as we would otherwise. read more
