It's right on Main St. Staff is friendly, tables are clean & not greasy, & food came out quickly. Things we liked: Decent prices & good portions!! Not too much. Not too little. Wheat toast was thick. Coffee was good for a "family style" place too. +! My friend had eggs on a cornbread toast. I hv fussy, high expectations for home fries & these lacked any seasoning but they were tender & had a crisp outer shell. So, a plus there. A side of ultra-thin & crispy bacon was a short stack, a def plus, but the bacon was mostly fat, which wasn't. We finally stopped by Pignone's after almost a year of living and Stoneham - glad we did! Starting off, the service was fantastic. There was a small wait when we got there, but the staff immediately cleared a table when another party got up so we could sit right away. Our waitress was super friendly and gets bonus points for free refills of our iced coffee (not sure if this is always the case, but works for me!) The iced coffee is pretty good, but not quite as good as some of the other options nearby. I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on a deli roll, and my wife got the Spartan Special with scrambled eggs, bacon and french toast. The eggs (scrambled for her and fried for me) were perfectly cooked, the bacon was just right the mix of chewy and crunchy, and the french toast was light and fluffy. The food was fantastic overall. This is a pretty solid breakfast stop. All of the food looks good. I got a Greek omlette. It was fluffy, though I would have appreciated a tad more filling. My daughter ordered a waffle. To her delight, it was in the shape of a flower. She liked the flavor, though it was more "eggy" than she liked. The staff was very earm and welcoming, greeting us as ee stepped over the threshold. We ordered Egg Benedict and whole wheat pan cakes with banana and strawberries. The taste I'd say is 2/5. The muffin in the egg Benedict was over cooked that you need to fight to break it. My first time trying Pignones and I was very happy! I came with my grandmother on a nice fall Saturday mid-morning. It was pretty full. I liked the variety of options and saw several things I want to come back for! I got 2 chocolate chip pancakes and 2 scrambled eggs with toast and home fries. The pancakes were fluffy and chocolatey (so, perfect). They use "extra thick" toast, which was tasty and filling. They have great home fries which I find are often a hot or a miss! I realized that October 23, 2017 was Day 1 of my sobriety. I am an alcoholic and an addict, and I finally accepted those two things while I was sitting at the corner table of this Café, at 6:00 am, hungover af, with a 5 hour car ride ahead of me. Step 1 of the 12 Step Program is Acceptance. It was in this place that I finally accepted what I am. I can finally move on with my life and deal with my issues. I will be ok. Eventually. This place is magical, in my opinion. I have known I'm an alcoholic for 12 years. I finally ACCEPTED it here. My mind is still blown that this happened. Sandra, the young lady behind the counter, is an angel as far as I'm concerned. She is very nice and warm. She doesn't know any of this. I went in at around 6 in the morning, like I said. It was still dark outside. I am just about as far from being a morning person as someone can be. It was rough. I was wearing a black SF Giants hat, black glasses, a red and gray vest over a blue fleece, gray pants, and gray sneakers. If you ever read this, Sandra, you are amazing. Know that, fo sho. I almost cried while I was sitting at my table, but I got it together. Going to this place literally changed my life. Forever. There were many factors involved in getting to this point, but yea. Strange things have been happening to me recently. A lot of them. Coincidences. Everything. This is no different. I almost walked straight past this place. My initial plan was to go to Dunkin Donuts. America runs on it, after all. Needless to say, I did not make it there. No Large Double Turbo with Milk for this guy. Not that morning, anyway. I hit rock bottom for the first time in NYC in October 2013. Then I hit a new low, my current rock bottom, last October. It was scary. Still is, actually. Massive panic attack. Couldn't sleep for four straight days. It was brutal. That made me turn to drinking even harder. That's not the solution to anyone's problems. Certainly not any of mine. However, this October is a good one. Blue October. That's the name of a cool song. On second thought, I believe it's the name of the band. Into the Blue might be the name of the song. Maybe there is an ocean involved. I don't feel like looking it up right now. Either way. I call the pairing of my mother and myself Blue October. My favorite color is Blue. Her birthday is October 18th. It is her favorite month for many reasons. Least of which is probably the fact she was born then. Anyways, her new favorite reason to love October can be because it is when I finally stopped drinking. She has wanted me to stop for a long time. Longer than anyone else. Forever, really. She didn't want me to start. It runs in the family, on both sides, with both of my parents, unfortunately. Neither of them are, but it's a slippery slope. I slipped immediately. Sophomore year of high school. I liked it way too much, right away. Being a beer pong beast didn't help, but it always turned me into an animal. That's not how I will act moving forward. That is a very good thing. If you live in Stoneham, Massachusetts or anywhere in the greater Boston area, go to this place. The people are nice, and most importantly, the food is great. I will love Pignone's Café forever. I got a Ham, Egg, and Cheddar Cheese sandwich on a plain bagel. I also got a Kielbasa Omelette for the road. With Dry Rye toast. That's what my mothah likes, and now it's what I like. 2 thumbs up, 5 stars, whatever. Go to this place. Support their business. They take plastic, and there is a Bank of America right next to it. I went to the ATM so I could leave a 100% tip on my meal. I am not bragging. I am also not rich. Not even close. But they deserved it. Perfection. Also, this is literally the first Yelp review I've ever left. I just signed up for it. That is how compelled I felt to say something about this place! Give it a try! You will like the food. If not, you will at least get to see the place where my life changed forever. It was a round table in the corner of the shop. All the way on the right when you walk in. Whelp...I wouldn't call myself a regular by any means, but I've been here a few times and while I've never been wowed, I haven't had a terrible meal either, until today. Work buddy and I decided to visit since this is an in-the-middle spot for both of us. Nice little restaurant in a building you would drive by 1,000,000 times and never notice it. Quaint it isn't, but that means its a spot for locals and you can usually sit down without a wait. Today was just like this which was nice. Waitress #1 came right over to greet us then disappeared. Second waitress came a bit later to bring a second menu, but not a second set of silverware. We both ordered salads and 20 oz sodas. Easy stuff, right? Is this the last place to not have a soda fountain? I think so. Each 20oz bottle was $2.50. Whatever... Our salads came before the silverware, but it still took 15 minutes for these to arrive. My bowl was filled with room temperature iceberg lettuce. Not the crunchy interior leaves either, but the flaccid outer leaves. Yes, I said it. Flaccid. Did that word conjure any images? I'm trying to paint a picture here. The three or four cucumber slices were dry on the outside and the carrot peels were also dried out and pruney as if they were in a bin in the walk-in uncovered. Disgusting. Buffalo tenders were dried out and seemed like they were cooked previously and left in the fry basket until some dummy came by, then they were either under or waaay over seasoned. The tomatoes were unexpectedly good except for the one that had a long, thick black hair lassoed around it. I pulled that slice out and left it for the waitress to see, but my buddy felt gaggy looking at it so I had to wrap it up. But wait, it wasn't just my plate that was interesting: my buddy found pepper stems in his iceberg pile along with a thick piece of staple covered in mayo. Stoneham is a spaghetti and meatballs town for sure, but things are changing with new and modern restaurants within a short walk of Pignone's. There is little need to settle on food like this. I usually eat at my desk and going out is a treat, so I don't want to be disappointed, much less disgusted. Two stars for you!!!! read more

Came here for breakfast on a Friday morning. It's a cute little place with its own parking lot. It's a small little joint with about 20 or less seatings. We got seated right away upon arrival. I ordered the special breakfast sandwich that they had on their other special menu. It's a croissant with eggs, 2 layers of cheese, bacon, sausage link, ham and I think it was corned beef hash, served with a side of home fries. The food came out pretty quick. My breakfast sandwich was really massive. It was really good with lots of protein packed in it. Very greasy but delicious at the same time. I love their home fries. It was seasoned really well. The staff here are very nice but the food just isn't good. We got the corn beef hash with eggs and an omelet with iced coffee. Everything was sub par and honestly didn't have the usual flavors we were expecting. The corn beef hash was the worse, it tasted like breaded ground pork or something, I felt like I was tricked because it didn't resemble traditional style and I really didn't taste corn beef at all... but I guess it's just their style of cooking it? Omelet was just average but again the ham they used seemed like the cheap canned kind. I originally wanted an OJ but they use the small Minute Maid bottles not real orange juice so we got iced coffee instead but even that tasted meh. Overall it's just a townie spot that is in a convenient location but I wouldn't recommend it and would rate it lower if it wasn't for the nice staff. My daughter comes in for the mickey mouse chocolate chip pancakes loves them with a side of bacon, I love their fluffy omlets i get a western never disappointed i love seeing my favorite waitress Karly or jessica they are the best friendly service kind, never wait long for a meal, once had the tuna melt for lunch it was awesome very impressed. 'Meh, I've experience better' seems like a fair rating for this place. My favorite meal to eat out for is breakfast. I've been stuck on one new restaurant in my neighborhood lately, so I decided to try something different. Since I'd never been to Pignone's before- I decided to give it a try. PRO's: Very clean. Lots of natural light. CON's: The service wasn't great- the waitresses were too busy hanging out at the register, texting on the their cell phones, talking to each other, and/or watching TV to give prompt service. The never checked to see if we wanted a coffee refill or more water- never asked how the food was, etc. The blonde waitress actually walked away in the middle of me asking her for a refill! I ordered the Banana Fosters Crepes (I forget the exact name of the dish). I was really disappointed. The crepes were chewy and kinda too yellow in color- I'm guessing they used some type of Bisquick-type mix? The 'banana liquor' that should have been drizzled over it soaked it and make it taste like cheap syrup more than anything else. They actually gave me another woman's order because she had ordered her crepes without the banana liquor and whip cream (she must have known from previous experience to skip that yucky stuff)- so her boyfriend had his food before her, and I had mine before my boyfriend's was ready. Not a BIG deal, but still- not great attention to detail- luckily I had just ordered the same thing as the table before us- otherwise that poor woman would have had to wait for them to make a whole new one! The home fries were uninspired, bland, blah. My boyfriend's omelet was ok, but again, nothing noteworthy. Finally, the decor. I don't like to go out to breakfast and watch TV- call me old-fashioned. I like a nice atmosphere and good conversation; this place has 2 TV's in one room. I first visited Pignone's randomly a few months back. Since then I have returned several times and I would have to rank it as my favorite spot for Breakfast! Having driven by it a million times I never really thought to go there until it was recommended that I check it out. I am huge fan of breakfast, but sometimes good places are hard to find. I know that they also serve lunch, but I have yet to explore that aspect of Pignone's. Judging by the breakfast, I would venture to say that it is equally as delicious. Pignone's is convenient with ample parking, and plenty of room to sit. Also I have never waited to be seated. My favorite dish to order is the Spartan Breakfast with French toast! But I have also gotten a stack of pancakes with a fruit cup on the side. Anyone who has accompanied me on a visit to Pignone's has also been very satisfied. We tried Pignone's for the first time this morning since it received some great Yelp reviews. The restaurant is small but very clean. The menu is vast and some of the options are unique. We ended up trying the Ricotta Blueberry Pancake special. The pancakes were great. We split an order of the smothered home fries but found them to be undercooked. The bacon needed a few more minutes on the grill. The only downfall was the service. We waited for about 10 minutes to get coffee refills and the food was very slow coming out of the kitchen. When we were done eating, we had to seek out the waitress in order to get our check. Overall, I would go back but with lower hopes. read more

Slow service but absolutely worth it. I came here on New Years Day and we had the salsa cheddar sandwich, ham and cheese french toast, a fruit cup, and a homemade grilled blueberry muffin. All of it was divine. Our server, Charlene, was fantastic - she even made a special fruit cup with only yummy fruits for my 1-year-old. Who does that?? So cool. The only drawback was that they seemed to be understaffed (could have just been because of the holiday) so my son freaked out once waiting for the food and then again waiting to pay the check, and on the second time he spilled his water everywhere. That was awkward for everyone and I felt pretty bad about it, but the staff handled it well. We left a big tip and high tailed it out of there, because what else can you do? Went for breakfast this past Friday morning. The server was kind, helpful, and seemed hardworking. Unfortunately, food and coffee were flavorless, and food took quite some time to be made. Some of the items that we ordered from the menu were not available - biscuits and gravy (no biscuits) and croissant sandwich (no croissants). We learned about the biscuits after we ordered the first time, and then learned about the croissants after we re-ordered. So, it took three tries for us to finalize our order. The kitchen seemed not to know how to make one particular menu item, and the server had to explain to them several times how it was done. read more
